wow, so proud. SO Yuchun is more popular than Huyn Joong in Korea. It is a surpise for me. I thought that Huyn Joong is megastar there. Super proud!!!

SG was great–really great. It’s a must-see.
It’s just that SKKS was better–it was a classic. And Yuchun was just luminous in his role, from start to finish. I mean he was really really good. A terrifically subtle and nuanced performance. You just LOVED him by the end, even if you’d never even heard of him before.

This is overall awards show, combining all dramas and moves in Korea. It is bigger than the KBS award.
Baeksang covers all Korean TV programs and movies produced last year, something equivalent to Emmy Awards in the US, and is considered one of the most prestigious awards in Korea.
Every year major broadcasting companies take turns in broadcasting it, and this year it will be aired through KBS, live.
(Thursday 8 P.M, Korean time)
I’m almost 100% sure Yoochun will get two awards (aside from the popularity award which is already confirmed, he is a nominee for the best actor of the year) which will make SM guys impossible to block him from TV, and it will be be the second time he will appears on the main national TV after last year’s KBS award. Yeayyyy~ go chunnie!!

The time difference makes it possible, but not advisable. If he does do it, I really wonder at the state of his sanity.

Well…. it’s crazy. You’re 100% right. He can do a video acceptance. He can do 3 different ones for the 3 awards.
But he’s half a world away and he can NOT not make the L.A. show, that would not be good. Stuff goes wrong, flights are delayed, natural disasters occur–he can’t take the chance.
I think this award is important to him so he has to sacrifice his rest time for this. Just hope everything will go well for him and of course his health too.
I heard that the “best new actor” award is not given to the candidate unless one actually attends the ceremony. So even if Yoochun was destined to win the award, if he notifies the admin that he cannot attend (via video satelite, technically that is possible, but the difference between actually showing up in the show or not is huge, especially given that chunnie is still a newbie in the industry in terms of acting), the chance of him getting the reward is significantly reduced… I hope Chunnie manages his schedule very well and takes precaution not to miss neither one of the two- the ceremony and the concert.
Every step Yoochun takes for SKKS and acting in general helps JYJ in their fight for their career, so even though he is almost killing himself, it is very important. So many fans found and supported JYJ through Yoochun’s acting.
I think that the popularity vote shows not only how popular Yoochun is in Korea, but how dedicated his fans are. They must have each voted a hundred times or something to win by that big a margin. Nobody can compete with the sincerity of the love of JYJ fans. In some ways we have the evil SME to thank for binding us together so tightly.
So happy to have Yoochun appreciated for how great he really is. It makes a huge statement to all of Korea about his talent beyond the idol image.

Ditto. I think thats why he come back for the award because he knows how much fans support him, in spite of being tired and all schedules mess up. But looking back at how hectic his life during his old days, he got used to it. Now lets pray he got that best new actor and our happiness is complete

It’s already confirmed that Yoochun is attending. There’s a past post about it dear. But this is worth it, Baeksang Award is too big to let it pass.
They put it on the schedule, there is nothing that says he’s attending in person. They put Junsu’s recorded appearance on the schedule, too.
we have the same thoughts.. i dont think it’s smart to risk the concert..
US an SK are high tech nations, then can just use hologram to make it appear as if YC really attends the ceremony and deliver his acceptance speech … and it has more impact, people in the ceremony having no knowledge about JYJ will know that they’re presently doing a US concert tour–i don’t know, i’m really afraid if YC will take the risk to fly back to SK with a concert waiting the following day.
