After hitting up the East Coast last week, JYJ headed for the West Coast to thrill the crowd in the next stop of their epic “2011 World Tour“!
On May 27th, fans in Los Angeles were treated to a two-hour long concert filled with sexy performances by JYJ’s Junsu, Jaejoong, and Yoochun at the NOKIA Theatre.
Check out allkpop’s exclusive coverage of the hot event below!
===
Anticipation crackled in the air as we waited outside of the NOKIA Theatre. Long before the doors opened, fans gathered in front to pass out red glowsticks and posters in a joint effort to support JYJ to the fullest extent possible.
Once fans entered the building, they were greeted by an undisclosed dance practice video of “Be My Girl (Remix)“. In the video, JYJ’s dancers demonstrated the simple dance steps to the song, allowing fans in the audience to learn the dance in time for the concert’s opening.
The lights dimmed, and the stadium immediately transformed into an ocean of red. JYJ had fans screaming as they opened the concert with engaging performances of “Empty“, “I.D.S“, and “Nine“, after which Yoochun greeted the audience by yelling, “What up L.A.? Welcome to the JYJ concert in Los Angeles!“. Junsu then shouted, “How are you doing tonight?! Let’s have a good time together!“, and Jaejoong piped in, “Hope you enjoy the show!”
Pierrot” was next on the list as JYJ was joined by a company of female dancers dressed in tutus with white masks and white gloves. JYJ then drew closer to their fans as they sang “Be My Girl” at the respective ends of the stage.
After a brief video from the set of their “The Beginning” album jacket photoshoot, JYJ returned to the stage with “Be The One“, dressed in Michael Jackson-inspired chain adorned black suits and white gloves. Soon after, they presented “Ayyy Girl“, which marked the first of many scandalous performances with their female dancers.
Yoochun was the first to show a solo performance as he sang “I Love You“, and though fans didn’t seem to mind when he sang to the girls in the clear enclosures, fans screamed in jealousy whenever he began to dance with the other female dancers. Perhaps luckily for the dancers, they all wore masks that concealed their identity from the raging fans! After Yoochun’s sensual performance, ninjas dressed in sequined trench coats took the stage as JYJ lipsynced to “Mission“.
Following a slideshow of pictures from their tour, Junsu presented his solo track, “I Can Soar“, which was followed my Jaejoong’s solo performance of “Still in Love“. Throughout the show, it seemed as though Jaejoong was the one member who most enjoyed the incorporation of more female dancers, and while Jaejoong’s solo stage was oozing with sexiness, his fans didn’t seem too happy with his many close “encounters”.
The mood brightened considerably when JYJ came together once again to perform their hit track fromthe “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” OST, “Found You“, which was followed by “Fallen Leaves“. JYJ went on to sing one of their new songs, “Boy’s Letter“, which was a unique experience to see them perform live.
As the three members showed off their great vocal talent, fans grew silent as they stood in awe of JYJ, but that shock was short-lived as fans jumped and danced along as JYJ closed out the show with “Be My Girl (Remix)” and “You’re” (there was also a brief return of Jaejoong’s standing hair).
Once JYJ exited the stage, the audience began to chant “JYJ“, demanding an encore performance. Right when it seemed like their wishes were not going to be granted, JYJ reappeared donning casual JYJ t-shirts and jeans. They brought the concert full circle when they performed their “Get Out” and “Empty” tracks, during which they bowed to the audience with all of their dancers. However, their fans were still left unsatisfied, as they called for yet another encore performance! JYJ kindly returned to the stage to perform one last song for everybody, “In Heaven“, during which Junsu, Jaejoong, and Yoochun sang their hearts out, as they gave it their all by singing a sad love song about not wanting their lover to leave.
-
After all the lights, pyro effects, stage fireworks, and confetti, the concert had finally come to an end, but Yoochun assured fans, “We’ll come again next year… We’ll always love you guys“, as they left the stage saying their thank yous, arigatos, and xie xies.
Though the concert had ended, fans were reluctant to leave, as they lingered within and outside the theater in hopes of taking in every last moment of their memorable experience.
—
With only one stop remaining on the North American leg of their “2011 World Tour”, JYJ will next be heading to San Jose for their June 3rd concert, so be sure to get there if you can, because it’s sure to be an extraordinary show!

“…and while Jaejoong’s solo stage was oozing with sexiness, his fans didn’t seem too happy with his many close “encounters”.
Are you sure…??? LOL
I am happy these ENCOUNTERS happen… ahahahahh
YES !! *hugs* me too *teary eyes* …….
but god do I hate allkpop !! thy will never be on my good side .
u can hate them all u want bb… hahahah
/hugs u
I am really happy these encounters happened too ^^
right! ^^
O_o Really AKP? I was doing backflips when I saw pics of these “encounters”. XD
i was too busy imagining being in the dancers’ positions than to have time being unhappy about it.. lol
¿Scandalous performances? ¿What does this mean? There weren’t any scandals. At least I don’t think JYJ’s performance were scandalous. Extremely sensual, yes but scandalous, never. ¿Who wrote that? I think it isn’t accurate.
¿Jaejoong seemed to be the member who enjoyed the most the incorporation of more female dancers? Well, with this statement I agree. He really enjoyed the most to perform with more sexy female dancers.
They are just jealous….
Man… allkpop thinks by reporting on JYJ’s news they’re gonna get on the right books of us fans? At least do their homework right first!!!
Makes me wonder if they actually sent anyone there to watch the concert ‘live’ or just read up on fan accounts to post this news as their own!
@Shadow, dear, but ¿Whose fan accounts? ¿Antis? ¿Ot5?
I was there, people loved every single performance. I brought my sister, her husband and my niece and we all agreed that the concert was amazing. The dancers peformed very professionally and tastefully. I honestly think they did not lipsync.
@senajang
Just a thought, but do you suppose AllKPop could possibly be talking about the background vocals?? They were in the pre-recorded track. Maybe that’s what she meant. That every single one of the vocals heard was not being sung live… Otherwise—I’m stumped. Junsu was singing live. And my God–try to sing that song and perform those moves at the same time! You’re out of breath almost right away. He’s an amazing performer.
Everything in Korea is a scandal. Dating can be a scandal, so I can understand why the called it scandalous. They have never seen grown men act as grown men. They better get use to it, because here in the US , I think JYJ will continue to act as men. In Asia, I think they will tone down their performances. It’s a shame, because their is nothing wrong with the way they dance with the women.
A
@Ro1499, dear sissy, I second your words. And you’re right. Is better for JYJ’s asian fans to get use to it, because it’s pretty obvious that they’re enjoying their current stage performances soooo much. I love to see them happy and acting as they are: Grown up handsome and healthy men.
Gosh, I would rather they be scandalous or sensual or what ever they call it. In fact i dont really mind jaebulge , cough, cough, or …on the stage. The more the better. I am fine with it, more than fine
if these happening help to fan out Yunjae fan’s hope that they exist to be for ever
@wanzhaf
Nice! Right with you. Let’s bury the little girls in JaeBulge!!
Woo-Hooo!!
@Wanzhaf
I’m with you too, sissy. ¡Thumbs up!
“After Yoochun’s sensual performance, ninjas dressed in sequined trench coats took the stage as JYJ lipsynced to “Mission“.”
Lipsynced?? What’s that about? Anybody know?
I wonder about that too. I had no idea, but at the same time it makes sense cause they danced alot during that song performance.
@HXM_UM
Good point.
yeah… MISSION is really hard to sing while dancing so that one they had to do some lipsynching…
I was there,but I didn’t know…!!!!!!
how and where ALLKPOP get that idea :
I was there in about the 12th row and it sure didn’t look lipsynched to me. What’s allkpop’s agenda here?
Ok, now it´s obvious…
“… JYJ lipsynced to “Mission“.”
That line is a LIE… They sang the song! It´s unfair not recognise their effort ò__ó
Was it even neccessary to even emphasize on that?!!
I don’t know whether JYJ did it or not since I was not there but what is the issue here with allkpop?!
They’s really get on my nerves most of the time which is why I don’t go there at all!!!!!
JYJ definitely sang all their songs live. The lipsync thing an SCANDALOUS lie. AllKpop, you’re toast.
Yeah, I’m not seeing it either, and you can usually spot it pretty easily. Singing at the same time as doing that level of strenuous dance would be REALLY HARD, don’t get me wrong. But I don’t know…. I just don’t see the lip-syncing in that vid. I see them re-adjusting their head-set mics several times because they’d moved during the dancing. But doesn’t that indicate that their mics were probably ON??
@xtooline
“I was there in about the 12th row and it sure didn’t look lipsynched to me.”
No– I just watched the above vid as well as another one and Jaejoong is turning his mic on and off when it’s time for him to sing (you can see him pushing a button on his ear-piece) just like in the rest of the show. Honestly, I do not think this was lip-synced.
@Shuheilove
OK, I PROMISE, this is gonna be my last post on this topic (geez… obsess much?? lol) but it’s been bugging me and I just realized why. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and just say this: JYJ would N.E.V.E.R come to Los Angeles and lip-sync. Think about it. They know how important a music town this is. They know what’s cool to do and what’s not. Lip-syncing, here in the U.S., is not considered to be cool, in fact it’s frowned upon and the people who do it aren’t taken seriously. Do you think that JYJ wants to come here, perform and not be taken seriously???
I don’t think so.
I think the problem stems from the fact that in past concerts with TVXQ, there were times especially during fast songs, they did lipsync. So, now the assumption is they do this even now. Is it possible the background track was played while the sang? Yes.
I’ve been to two Janet Jackson concerts and she does have background tracks played. When she does dance numbers she needs them because she has such a mild soft voice.
No, they did not. If they did, this is some of the best lipsyncing I’ve ever seen. Besides, even, and I say even if they did during Mission, that could be forgiven. Their energy level in that song was fierce. And these are all smaller stages than the one in Seoul.
From my seat in NJ, you could see the whiteness of Chunnie’s teeth when he smiled. Was I looking for lipsyncing? No. Would I be put off if they did. No. So, when I watched them sing, my only concern was how happy I was to see them doing what they do best. I don’t give a rodent’s patootie what anyone else says about their performance.
How is this lipsynching??? You can hear them breathing. AKP you’ve disappointed me again. >:(
That’s the disadvantage if you sing really well…
From watching fancams it looked like and sounded like it was lipsynced. It shouldn’t be a big deal though. The other songs were definitely live and sounded amazing even through fancams. Allkpop just wants to stir up trouble just to get more viewers.
I wish AKP was a valid news source instead of a bunch of people translating on their own, b/c them they could be held accountable for what they post.
I dont think they should have said that unless they were absolutely sure it was true.
Sis, you don’t know the media. They state things, it doesn’t matter if they’re true or not, only to create discussions and to attract attention.
they shouldn’t have mentioned that, but mission has always been lipsynced. from fancams, it’s very obvious. at the concert, it’s a bit harder to tell. but basically, it sounds exactly like the cd. i can tell if they’re lipsyncing even if they’ve re-recorded it. plus they’re dancing mission so hard, i totally don’t mind them lipsyncing it ^o^ but one day, i do hope to hear mission live <3 plus all the other songs were live.
@cici,don’t you know that sometime when people make the fancam they didn’t use the org. sound ,because it was to noisy or the sound is not clear enough like they want it ?….I was there, PIT 5TH role,and I don’t think they ‘re lipsynce,because I could hear their heavy breathing in this song ,you tell me,did they record it ,too?
The one who telling JYJ fans that their boys do the lipsynce on ”MISSION”,they ‘re trying to take away the soul of this song..They ‘re trying to make our boys look bad ,they want to kill our favorite song…
@jjlovejj
“They ‘re trying to make our boys look bad ,they want to kill our favorite song…”
Exactly my point. Yes. I agree.
@jjlovejj,sister ,you make me want to cry,I love “MISSION”so so much,I hate the reporter with that crazy writing ….I wonder ,did she really there on that night?or just like you said she wants to break my heart ,my love with this song,with JYJ…..
i honestly think that they just went a little heavy on the backtrack… but hey.. what do i know? and really.. don’t put too much weight into what akp writers write.. whenever they write those opinion pieces… there’s always obvious personal bias…
@Brat9
” don’t put too much weight into what akp writers write.. whenever they write those opinion pieces… there’s always obvious personal bias…”
A question: do you know if AllKPop is based in the U.S or is it in Korea? If Korea, I wonder if they have any knowledge of the U.S. music scene? If they’re here in the U.S…. still I wonder. Because the more I thought about that statement they made (and they made it so off-handedly) the more I realized that if it was meant for predominantly American readers, it was a big stab in the back for JYJ. It was a small bit of sabotage. Now, why would they want to do that? Hmmmm… How’s their history been with JYJ up until now?
they’re actually based out of the States~
i have no idea about what their stance as a whole is on JYJ. i think it depends on which staff posts… because it seems they have differing opinions…
and if pieces aren’t written by them and they are only a translation… sometimes important points are seemingly intentionally left out… that’s why i never get my JYJ news from them anymore…
@Brat9
“sometimes important points are seemingly intentionally left out… that’s why i never get my JYJ news from them anymore…”
Gotcha. Thanks for the info.
I loved the concert!!!!!! OMG, i am definitely going to see them again!! It was a great experience for my first concert…ever
The writer is JJ bias. ‘followed my Jaejoong’s solo performance ‘..
Surprised nobody reacted to it yet. AKP comments most on this.
I think he/she meant “by” but I can see where it may be a freudian slip
I’m with you there. Allkpop is always ambiguous when it comes to their articles. They wouldn’t use my on purpose =\
AKP is getting a bit of my respect!
They´re doing a good work covering JYJ World Tour… I hope they keep doing well!
oh really? hmmmmmmmmm
hahaha
The key there it´s “… a bit of…” XD
lol^^
Not even a tinnie winnie binnie bit from me!
@Shadow,yeah ,I think so too,I’m with you…
i think Allkpop just wanna share the cake. heh…
They’re late. They can have the stale left-over crumbs.
NOOOOO !!! don’t give them anything even the crumbs
* sweeping the crumbs *
@Meme, sissy, ¡AGREED! We MUST sweep the crumbs.
Just a little hitch.
In Heaven isn’t just a song for a lover.
Its JJ’s words for his hyung.
Of course they have to do some lip-synching during a fast-paced song like mission! It’s not unheard of. And AKP, you’re starting to walk on shaky ground with these odd remarks about the dancers. Grown men dancing with grown women=Sexy!
I’m sorry but allkpop is wrong…. I don’t think they lip-sync….and imagine here in u.s? Singers don’t lip-sync it’s scandalous I don’t think the director or the promotors whant that kind of artist or else their going be a big criticism…. So allkpop please do were glasses and hearing aid so you can distinguish what is live and lip-sync ok
“We’ll come again next year…”
Yes, I will definitely be there. See you boys next year!
I’ll be waiting for you forever ,here ,boys…
so,seee youuuu guysss,next year…
Lipsinc…? i dont think so… d writer should recheck her memory, eyes and ears.
and her lips, nose, heart, lungs, brain…
@vhonz,are you trying to say ,she is a MUMMY…with the outside is blocking and the inside her body is…empty…?
I like that…
internal fanwar, wht a pity..
just expressing opinions dear… not a war… ^__^
ALL-kpop is covering JYJ’s concerts now ’cause they want to appear in KBS’s news again XD
