As you know, Seoul Drama Awards is an upcoming event. Yoochun is a candidate for Best Korean Actor. His drama Sunkgkyunkwan Scandal is a candidate for Best Drama. The song Found You by JYJ is up for Best OST.
There seems to have been voting activity that is strange and if true, very likely to be due to usage of programs or other illegal means.
The above chart shows that over the course of the night, votes for Yoochun (blue) took place in a low but consistent manner (largely a straight line). In contrast, votes for Jang Keunsuk took place in extremely large spurts. In particular, the conspicuous peak in the middle of the chart shows that at 5:47am, 4968 votes were placed within that minute.
As a result, votes for Jang Keunsuk (in Red) which were more than 20,000 behind that for Yoochun (in green) has caught up dramatically in the span of 4 hours (first graph). This is because, as the second graph shows, a very large amount of votes were cast for Jang Keunsuk in those hours in spurts while votes for Yoochun stayed steady (second graph).
The chart above is in minute-increments. It shows that at some points over the recorded time period, 100 to 400+ votes were cast for Jang Keunsuk in a single minute. The screen captures below the chart shows that in a single minute between 1:37 and 1:38, 403 votes were cast for Jang Keunsuk.
This is not the first time that it is suspected that votes for Jang Keunsuk for a high-stakes poll were placed by a program. See here for an article from Allkpop from last year, in which Jang Keunsuk’s main competition was singer/actor Kim Hyunjoong. Kim Hyunjoong led the votes until the last few days, at which time votes for Jang Keunsuk increased in a manner similar to it is increasing today. Jang Keunsuk eventually won.
It is expected that the voting for Seoul Drama Awards end at 9am on August 16, KST. Currently, all categories (Best Korean Actor; Best Drama; Best OST) have been overtaken by votes for Jang Keunsuk. I’m going to have disagree with you on this one. YOU should NEVER be ashamed to stand up for yourself. Correcting a wrong or an injustice is your given right. It matters not what ‘the other side’ says. Once the facts are laid out – who, what, when, where, how, and we know the WHY, that’s all there is to it. Right is right, and wrong is wrong.
JYJ stood up to SME and people call them things they are not (greedy, traitors, gangsters). People speak about the JYJ’s situation and they don’t know the problem. We have been through worse we can stick this one thing out too. I remember when that whole lovejyj thing happened I thought it would hurt JYJ. These charts show that there’s some truth to our claims so how can they claim manipulation? Manipulation is when you influence someone maliciously. Dictionary.com says, “to manage or influence skillfully, especially in an unfair manner”. We’re not doing that, our influence will come from an outside unbias report of what happened, the truth, the facts. These charts, no one can argue that this is manipulation because it is plain to see that something ‘happened’ which is unfair to Yoochun and JYJ. A person who knows nothing about JYJ or JGS can look at these charts and question that it’s odd.
If they claim manip, let them but we know we don’t have no need to manipulate anyone. We do have a need though to tell the truth and to right what is wrong and if the truth and making things right is considered manipulation to them then so be it. That’s just their own skewed thinking has nothing to do with us.

true that… I knew many people had actually watched MSOAN and not one of them had anything good to say about it. They had a great cast but squandered them on horrible writing and horrible hair… Anyway, I used to really liked JGS (before the crazy hobo hair period) but too bad some of his fans are so dishonest. It’s really sad and it will probably reflect badly on him and hurt him more than it will hurt to us…
I like JGS. He’s such a good actor and his deep voice is hot (baby face with sexy and manly voice –> win win!)
But I watched this drama and it was just crap! It was a total waste for the great cast it had! I downloaded MGOAN, watched and deleted from my HD: I made room for something better with no remorse or regret…
I’m not fond of historical drama. SKKS was the first I watched and only because of Chunnie. And it was GREAT! I enjoyed every second. I loved the storyline, the actors, OST, the bromance, the work of historical reconstruction for costumes and buildings…It was really the best of the best drama of 2010.
Second place IMHO goes to Secret Garden because the interaction between the two main cast was awesome, their acting was great, Oska was so funny and even OST was good.
I would be ready to accept defeat in all areas by Hyun Bin&Co, because many have actually appreciated this drama. But in the current ranking it is largely overlooked in favor of shit like MGOAN and that’s incredibly disgusting and unfair.

this happened to me too… i found out about it last friday. I voted all SKK nominees a month ago and been seeing the results fair w/o any problem.. but not until last friday… i was so shocked that the my best actor marked with red strip is JGS and NOT Yoochun… up until now. I even commented on korea.com FB. I even told this to JYJ PH last friday… and during that night still.. I was monitoring the results and refreshes the page every now and then and saw that Mary OST has been catching up by 100-1000 votes in just a matter of seconds. Too bad i wasn’t able to screen cap it…. Coz, i thought that time it’s still normal… and thought there’s a lag in the system and I was the only one experiencing it but not until Saturday where others started to notice their votes went to JGS, Mary and BUS Ost…Even those who voted Secret Garden went to the same place where JGS is….. and rumor of votes and screencaps of cheating from chinese fansite of JGS were spreading on twitter.

Report them on Facebook. Under their profile, there’s a “report/block this person” button. Pop up message appears, click the third option “This profile is pretending to be someone or is fake”, and then choose the last type “Does not represent a real person” After that confirm everything is true to the best of your knowledge. But I am sure it won’t take long for FB to confirm and ban that person since they have no profile pictures or friends.
jgs must be a shame to have a fans like that.. luckily JYJ fans are not cheating and even if yoochun/JYJ doesn’t win, we will never feel sad because we know yoochun/JYJ is really worth for a fair voting….I’m glad we are not lame and cheated like you-know-who!!

At first, I just considered it as showbiz intrigues, but with this SIDA voting irregularities, I’m doubting if this Korean Wave Fakery is just a mere intrigue.
I don’t blame the Eels, it’s not their fault. They don’t know what’s happening either, that’s why they are blaming Yoochun’s fans. So what if some of them figured out how to vote multiple times? I think the biggest shame here is that I think the officials are changing the votes because if Yoochun and JYJ win, it would cause them problems. If the boys win, there’s award ceremony, tv broadcast, new lies about why not letting them on their program, storm of controversity just like against KBS… It would be totally transparent if it happens again, they can’t risk it. Sure, we’ve become sensitized to stations doing things to keep the guys banned. This situation though is not directly organized by the station (SBS). For me this is a sign that anything that comes across on FB will be suspect. FB is notorious for being open to hacking. Hacking is the only way this kind of manipulation can occur. Internal system changes cannot be done by constant van voting. A hacking program made to switch and allow many votes to come into the system at certain times, goes way beyong using multiple FB accounts and simply sitting at the pc and refreshing. That’s labor intensive effort. The other is down right cheating. This has to be addressed. Since it looks as if it happened before, someone has to pick up the banner and say NO MORE.
umm I think I would have to disagree with you on this. That is a bit too much of speculation and I do blame the Eels for this because they shouldn’t concoct some crazy ass theory that we rigged the vote to make them look bad. I mean, to be honest, we don’t even care about how other fandoms look so why would we care about the Eels (weird name btw)? I think they are just getting a bit too presumptious about themselves and employing really dumb tactics to place the blame on us.
It’s not the regular, simple fans doing this, that’s for sure. Many fans said (not only JYJ fans but others too) that they voted on their favorit and it later appeared as votes for JGS. I think every one of us met already with links that were not working properly… The picture or link displayed something totally different what was under the link. You know what I mean? You wanted to download the four parts of Morning Show with JYJ and all four links led you to Part one… The name of the mediafire file is the same so you won’t download it but what will you do if there’s no link just a button to click? How will you notice if every button leads to the same link? The concept is the same. You have a display picture linked to different links. Or to the same link….. And that’s an inside-job. Just change the links few times a day… Maybe I’m paranoid but if I were the management of the contest, it would be highly inconvenient for me if a band whom *somebody* desperately wants to sweep under the carpet wins an award without any difficulities – even more so that the drama isn’t even new but still popular as hell – well, I don’t know. I’d be desperate.

I could go back and quote how many times I’ve read instructions about how to by-pass the system… These kind of things are not done *en masse* only by a couple of fans every time or there would be hundreds of thousands of votes. No, both accepts votes from international fans. You just have to select english for the Yahoo account to be able to read the instructions and vote in english.

seems like everything associated with Korea organizations is ambiguous….
this happened to me too… i found out about it last friday. I voted all SKK nominees a month ago and been seeing the results fair w/o any problem.. but not until last friday… i was so shocked that the my best actor marked with red strip is JGS and NOT Yoochun… up until now. I even commented on korea.com FB. I even told this to JYJ PH last friday… and during that night still.. I was monitoring the results and refreshes the page every now and then and saw that Mary OST has been catching up by 100-1000 votes in just a matter of seconds. Too bad i wasn’t able to screen cap it…. Coz, i thought that time it’s still normal… and thought there’s a lag in the system and I was the only one experiencing it but not until Saturday where others started to notice their votes went to JGS, Mary and BUS Ost…Even those who voted Secret Garden went to the same place where JGS is….. and rumor of votes and screencaps of cheating from chinese fansite of JGS were spreading on twitter.
I seriously think korea.com voting system has been hacked. and others were really using illegal programs.

Hallo everyone. Hajimemashite. This is my first comment after all this time become a silent reader. To be honest, i’m not a huge fan of k-pop because I have a very high standard regarding to the music. But, JYJ and their former group is the exceptional. I love them because of their voices. Related to this SDA things, I want to say, let it go girls. Take it easy…no matter what happen, deep in your heart, JYJ is the real winner. You don’t need a stupid vote system to prove that. If you feel sad, just look at JYJ picture or chunnalisa…They look so happy. It seems that they don’t think about the vote madness or korean entertainment madness….Just wait and see..Time will prove that JYJ is the best. And for the jgs a.k.a the mascara boy (my friends always call him like that), if you smart enough…hopefully you realize what happening…. As I was reading all the comments above and on SIDA FB page, I feel so helpless. We are all angry and furious but hobody from SIDA or korea.com ever replied to us. Furthermore, delusional people are everywhere. I’m also confuse which one is the correct voting counts, is it the one under their fb page or on yahoo?

Its funny…I watched SKKS and Mary…before I ever knew who JYJ were or ever heard their music. I didn’t know that Yuchun was a newbie actor because I couldn’t tell from the performance. Mary was cute, sometimes funny, but mostly irritating because the characters were fairly one dimensional and hard to relate to. SKKS on the other hand, I immediately fell in love with, great story, great characters, great acting, and normally I find Korean drama OSTs to be kind of ridiculous musically but I thought SKKS OST was just perfectly fitting for the drama. I especially liked that the female lead character wasn’t a simpering girl, worried only about the matters of the heart and letting the object of her affection trample all over her like Mary did.
So as someone who had no prior bias while viewing the two dramas, it is no question that SKKS was a superior drama all around. I know that is just my opinion. But it is an opinion shared by many. I simply don’t understand all the fan warring that goes on in this sort of thing and underhandedness of the Korean entertainment industry. Is it so serious for Yuchun to win? Will people die if he does? Will the entire economy of Korea collapse because he gets the title?
I love Korea, it is my birth country and I always root for them to become more progressive, to become a stronger figure internationally. But even I am heartsick over this. Who is at fault, who is to blame, doesn’t much matter now. That fans cannot even trust a simple online voting poll to vote for who or what they favor, it is an insanity. So much drama over something that should bring a smile to your face.
I smiled while I voted for Yuchun and SKKS and JYJ. And I will still smile if they do not fix these irregularities. In the end, they only hurt themselves by doing this. But JYJ, they are untouchable in my heart. They cannot hurt the JYJ that I believe in, the JYJ that I love, the JYJ that I know, no matter the outcome, will continue giving us great music, great dramas, great musicals and BE great people that will always have our deepest love and respect.

In case anyone need the info, I have screencapped a number of pages from Chinese blog sites the last few days, many now deleted. They contain various voting tutorials, ongoing troubleshooting, evidence of mass creation/collection of email addresses and FB accounts, and nonstop online voting by those blog members. I couldn’t find anything on electronic vote swiping or automated voting though.
