Park Yoochun Pushes Over Jang Keunsuk to Become the Most Popular Actor of Asia
Actor Park Yoochun has been chosen by the Seoul Drama Awards 2011 to be the most popular actor of Asia.
Yahoo Korea (www.yahoo.co.kr) announced the results of its online popularity vote that picks the most popular actor of each country ahead of the Seoul Drama Awards 2011 (www.seouldrama.org) that will be held on August 31.
The result of the online popularity vote for this year had the Korean male actor Park Yoochun (Sungkyunkwan Scandal) receive the most votes at 480,000 votes among 115 candidates and he became the most popular actor in Asia for Seoul Drama Awards 2011.
Following Park Yoochun (Sungkyunkwan Scandal) was Jang Keunsuk (Mary is Staying Out), Kim Jaewon (Can You Hear My Heart) at 2nd and 3rd places respectively. For 1st place among Korean female actresses Moon Geun Young (Mary is Staying Out) was picked and Park Minyoung (Sungkyunkwan Scandal) and Ha Jiwon (Secret Garden) followed.
The actors who have taken #1 for the online popularity vote in not merely Korea but also in Japan, Taiwan, China, and Hong Kong will receive the Netizen Popularity Award in the Seoul Drama Awards 2011 awards ceremony. This awards ceremony will take place on the 31st at 5:20pm in the KBS Hall of Yuwido, and will be broadcast live on SBS TV.

YO, My Ninja GF!! Aint it grand?? Irony and justice, all in one neatly tied up package. But The Chun will always triumph in these obviously karmic passages. He’s been through too much, he’s suffered too much, he’s waaaay too talented and charismatic not to win in the end. I wonder sometimes what happened to him in his last lifetime. Because whatever it was, this time around I think he’ll be able to rule the world. His success is beyond normal reason. It’s like a divine directive.

Ah..m’dear…real life has me very *pressed* right now…a week ago the compressor in my A/C unit died – $2,400 later…I’m now basking in cool air, but my bank account (which I had been saving for travel) is gone, gone.
I know I should be grateful that it was there to use….but I kinda had a little emotional slump over knowing my plans are now indefinitely postponed. (sigh) But in the big picture – ya gotta do what ya gotta do, right?
On a happier note – HUZZAH!! for our guys ~ ~ ~ charity concert, award and VERY successful drama ~ ❤ It’s all good.

This may be small comfort, but I too know the feeling, as I think many of us here. Just when you think you’ll be able to ENJOY something, along comes that repair. Yes, then I feel grateful I have the funds to take care of it. But lastly, I remind myself there are people all over this world who are worse off than I am. That’s because there were two different voting sites, Yahoo and facebook. Chun was leading both of it until the facebook jack-up. And based on this news, they used the yahoo votes (Chun was leading that one till the end). However, I don’t know what they’re going to do with the facebook votes since it was all messed up.
Just to clarify one thing… the Yahoo Korea votes is for Netizen Popularity Award which Yoochun leading all the way until the voting event end… and there is no fiasco at all… and the facebook one… we vote for best actor for chun… best drama for SKKS… best ost for JYJ “found you” all lose to JGS which we still don’t know the result as SDA said official result will only reveal on the 31st August.. so we hope for the best for chunnie n JYJ…

@jp I’m not sure about Chun lose for the korean popularity that you mentioned… but if its the eels fiasco from the facebook vote, its refer to Best Korean Drama Actor not popularity award… and for this Best Korean Drama Actor the voting at facebook only carry 70% of the result, there still 30% depends on the Judge… so i would say since Chun n JGS votes at facebook is quite close… so he still has a fair chance to win the Best Korean Drama Actor…if it’s not him… i will rather the award goes to Hyun Bin n definitely not JGS…

Actually, if you go to the yahoo website, it says “best star” and “best actor” just like the facebook one: http://kr.promotion.yahoo.com/sda2011/vote_actor_en.html. So I think the voting in both yahoo and facebook just decides who is most popular (since fans will vote for their favorite and not necessairy the best actor) and carries only a percent of the award results. The decision, like you said, rest mainly on the judges and how many news articles were about u. And if the’re going to be totally fair and not use the votings, then I hope Hyun Bin wins and then next year Chun can win too.
