Yes, in Monday’s Sports Seoul it was reported that the concert held in Europe attracted 3000 fans.
It is known that Kpop has spread to Europe due to Japanese manga. Japan’s manga and anime are very popular in Europe and because Tohoshinki once sang the themes song for anime, interest in Kpop spread.

What the heck are they saying? Aren’t they claiming the success of the concert to Japanese manga popularity? These people are funny. Just because JYJ performed at a manga festival doesn’t mean that the fans that attended the actual concert were all anime lovers. Ridiculous!
i think they said meant kpop got popular in europe through the popularity of japanese manga… like asian dramas (taiwanese, jap, korean) led me to find and love kpop
Then they should have just said asian drama. Because asian drama is not equal to japanese manga. And I know most people came to know Kpop through Kdrama rather than anything else. I for instance came to know kpop through Kdrama and nothing else. And I got to know J-drama and T-drama through K-drama. As for J-pop I’m only into TH5K ones. Maybe its becaue I haven’t tried different non-idol ones. I don’t much care for manga of anykind. I like cartoons though.
Interesting bit of analysis. It is true that some people know JYJ from anime, Tohoshinki. But others know them from K-pop, K-dramas. Others know them just from JYJ themselves. But all those avenues would be nothing if JYJ weren’t so great themselves.
It is funny how the media won’t make even one effort to support them, but when they do something like the European successful tour, everyone wants to talk about it and claim it is because of them. Koreans want to say it is bec of Kpop and hallyu wave, Japanese want to say it is because of anime and Jpop. But in the end it is JYJ themselves who are actually the ones benefitting everyone else and paying the price themselves for every step they take. My heroes.
