The Korean group arrived in the capital and was greeted by thousands of girls outside the Marriot Hotel. Junsu, Jaejoong and Yoochun said they were surprised and grateful.
Junsu, Jaejoong and Yuchun, the members of the Korean pop group JYJ, talked with the Peruvian press after a few hours of arriving in Lima. The conference was held at the Marriot Hotel, the musicians of Korean nationality were surprised with the reception they had in their first visit in South America.
“We didn’t knew we had so many fans here. We are surprised. We thank the Peruvian fans who greeted at the airport and came to the hotel. Tomorrow we will do our best for you to enjoy the concert, “said Jaejoong.
With the increase of K-pop concerts worldwide, airports all over the world have been experiencing the Hallyu wave in full, finding out rapidly that dealing with K-pop fans means more than just posting a guard or two at the arrival gate.
While the likes of JFK and Heathrow airports having already had their share of the excitement with SM Town and Beast’s World Tour respectively, neither have had to deal with what Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima, Peru went through for JYJ‘s arrival.
The fans showed up to the airport over 3,000 strong to support JYJ. It looks as though airport security had a hunch that there were going to be a lot of fans and it looks mostly organized. Fences were set up to keep the members as well as the fans safe. When the crowd got so deep that fans in the back couldn’t see, they started lining up on the bridge a fair distance away from the exit of the airport, hanging banners and getting their cameras ready.
The passion that K-pop fans have is amazing. Despite the recent controversy that has hit the group, fan support looks to be at the strongest point it has ever reached. Are you excited for JYJ’s concert in Peru? Would you be out there with the fans if you were in the country? Let us know in the comments!
Junsu: In Peru~
Junsu: [Stick out tongue] ” =P “
Fans were waiting outside Marriot Hotel and JYJ decided to appear at the balcony to say “Hi” to the fans ^^
Hello my dears. This is the first time I act as a reporter and I am not an english native speaker so I kindly ask you to excuse my mistakes.
We arrived to Lima on 09-03-2012. The weather was very hot, both on the outside of our bodies and on the inside of our hearts. The expectation and the extreme excitement were overflowing elsewhere. We arrived at the hotel and we were surprised because the employees were asking us about the concert and JYJ and they told us there were other fans coming to stay in here.
Immediately, we departed to claim our tickets and our posters at the Ani Gami store located in the Arenales shopping Mall; a place full of manga, anime and JYJ stuff of course. Then we went to another shopping mall called Plaza Vea and we found one of the “Tu Entrada” stores, where Noizu were selling the tickets.
In the night we watched the chilean concert Live Stream; absolutely amazing JYJ in red and moving their cute butts as the girls were asking them to do.
Early in the morning, instead of going to the airport, which was crowded to the top full of JYJ’s fans, and taking into account that there was implicit they were going to leave by a hidden door, we decided to visit the venue: The “Explanada sur del monumental”. The first thing we noticed were the girls in line I think maybe since thursday even though Noizu said the camping were allowed only since saturday night. Then a worker at the gates allowed us to enter the place. We noticed that the stage is placed in an estrategic way and the view is excellent no matter where the person is located and that is really encouraging because there’s no need to camp for tomorrow.
This is the first part of my chronicles. Please wait for the second part as soon as I find the time, because as you can imagine, there are lots of things to do before the concert tomorrow.
Even thought that the airport bring, police officers and firemans, unfortunately because there were so many fans ( i think we were almost 3 thousand) they go out for another door, and we coudnt see them T_T.
