Anyone would think that Park Yoochun and Han Ji Min look good together in Rooftop Prince. It looked like a picture of two pretty and good-looking people standing side by side. The two of them made the viewers even more immerse in the romance of Lee Gak and Park Ha in the drama.
In reality, the two of them have a relationship of noona and dongsaeng with an age gap of four years. They met for the first time through this drama. Through the past four months, they have grown closer as they went through thick and thin together. Park Yoochun followed Han Ji Min as a noona and a sunbae, while she took care of him. The two of them showed a warm relationship, as they grew closer together. Among the production crew of Rooftop Prince, they were the ones who had the most number of reports about rumours of their romance.

- How was working together with fellow actress Han Ji Min?
I have only known Ji Min noona for four months, but it seems that I have known her for 10 years, as I felt very comfortable around her. Noona is easy-going by nature, so I didn’t feel uncomfortable while filming skinship scenes. Also, I was very touched by her considerate nature. While filming the scenes, she would cry or laugh even more so that I could get into the emotion better. Although the after-hours party was held after several days of overnight filming, she just went there without washing up as the party was for the staff who had work hard for the drama. Now, I know why the people around her say good things about her.
- It seems that you have become closer to Han Ji Min. Did you hear a lot of people saying that the two of you look well together?
When I looked at scenes where Ji Min noona and I have acted together in, I also felt that we look good together. I wonder if it will be okay to officially date someone like her. Since I am a celebrity, I would be criticized if I were to go public with a relationship. I wonder if I will receive lesser criticisms and more blessings if I were to date someone who looks good with me. (Laughs)
- How was working with the F3 – Jung Suk Won, Lee Min Ho and Choi Woo Shik?
We worked in perfect harmony. Since it is comedic acting, it was important for all four of us to work together, but it was also important for the three of them to work together well too. The three of them really put a lot of effort into preparing, so we were able to work in harmony. I am someone who acts in a comfortable manner. As comedic acting was very interesting, I enjoyed myself while filming. Eventually, we did so much ad-libs that our filming didn’t complete.
- Choose a famous scene and line from Rooftop Prince.
To me, it is the scene where Lee Gak disappeared in the ending of episode 19. It was really sad. I felt truly sorry towards Park Ha and I also cried a lot, as it must be heart wrenching for Park Ha when Lee Gak left. The director and the staff who were watching the scene on set also cried. It showed that a person is really bad at leaving someone behind. Personally, the line, which I like the most is the one in episode 19 whereby Lee Gak and Park Ha said thank you while lying on the bed. While I was filming, it was difficult for me to hold back my tears. While looking and saying thank you to Park Ha who was lying down, tears welled in my eyes and I had goosebumps all over my body. Lee Gak really loved Park Ha and I felt sad about it.

- The actors and production crew of Rooftop Prince said that they were unable to imagine you as a singer.
I’ve heard this many times while I was on set. Ji Min noona and the F3 said that they couldn’t imagine me singing and dancing. Rather, I felt that it was odd. I have never thought of something like that before. While they were saying that, I didn’t know what to say for a moment. It wasn’t the problem of where I placed my priority. While I am acting, I focus on acting and while I am singing, I focus on singing. Their thoughts make me feel that I should not take such a long break from singing activities in the meantime.
- Since the drama has ended, it is a break for you now. While you are on a break, what do you want to do?
Due to the pressure I have felt while filming the drama, I thought of going somewhere after the drama has ended. Instead, I felt very tired and I didn’t have the thought of going anywhere after the drama has really ended. I want to visit the set where my dongsaeng (Park) Yoohwan is filming. The director, scriptwriter, cameraman of MBC’s Can’t Live Without You – the drama that my dongsaeng is acting in, are the people who I have worked with in the drama Miss Ripley. So, I feel like visiting the set even more.
- What kind of actor do you want to be?
I want to be a true actor who can express a character well by just reading the script word for word. I want to be that kind of actor who has experience in using the lines to show emotion and expression. I want to be an actor who can act even without makeup. Even if my face has wounds on it, I want to be someone who can act without concealing those wounds.

This is weird !! I mean he’s been a singer for a long time and in a famous group how come they can’t imagine him as a singer!!!
I think they meant it as a huge compliment, i.e. that he acts really well. (Singers , especially idol singers who have tried to crossover in to acting have usually bombed. They scrape by thru sheer popularity and not by their acting chops). And Yoochun is being humble in his reply.

@JT I took what they said to mean what you said you think they meant. I too think they meant it as a compliment. That they feel Yoochun is an excellent actor unlike some other idols who have tried to cross over to acting and failed.

Well I think they look good together in drama but in real life NO. They look like two different persons. Their personality seems different. I think Gakha shippers should move on. I never thought yoochun-ah would be this smart. This is an interview that make me change my point of view about him. I always thought he’s just a singer with cute, cool, and handsome looks. But with this interview, he transforms in to a smart, intelligent, down to earth, charming, and of course a very handsome yoochun. Lookat his answers. It’s genuine. He seemed meant it every word. He even felt those kinda feeling when lee gak said i love you to pak ha, at the bed scene. And that bed scene is my favourite scene too. Now i’m so proud of yoochun’s accomplishment. He deserves his hard work.
That is also my favorite scene. It made me cry because I really felt his emotions and deep love. Yuchun fighting! <3 GakHa fighting! <3

I love Yoochun because he’s a singer and I hope he sings for a long long time. Acting is just a bonus to my eyes, I still love him the best when he’s singing on the stage. It must have been a shock for people to say that about him, I won’t think of it to the extent of ‘identity crisis’ but i’m glad he’s setting his priorities straight.
They don’t mean it in a bad way. On the contrary. What they mean is that when he’s acting they don’t see him as “Micky the idol singer” but instead all they can see is “Micky the actor”. It’s a realy great compliment. Every singer/actor out there want to be acknowledged as an actor and not just as an idol trying to be an actor (but failing).
I too feel they meant it as a huge compliment to them seeing him as an excellent actor. I feel any idol singer who trys to act would love to have someone give them a compliment like that.

He’s so silly. The scar on your face doesn’t make you less handsome, instead it adds character to your face and makes you appear more human/real and approachable. It takes away any pretentiousness that one may associate with some celebreties. It’s a good thing not a bad thing. Cheers baby!
I agree totally with you about the scar adding character to his looks. In fact it was the scar and his curly eyelashes that attracted me in SKKS where I made a phenomenom discovery of him! While others were smitten by Yoo Ah In or Soong Joong Ki, I rooted for HIM all the way and through him I am an ardent fan of JYJ too! I am Micky’s and JYJ’s Singapore ahjumma fan and I love their DBSK songs. Last year I went to Seoul just to see Micky walk the red carpet at the Seoul International Drama Award. Then I went to Daegu to watch the World track &field c’ship where our JYJ sang for the closing ceremony. Oh my! It was like a real concert as me and the ahjuma volunteers were dancing away like crazy

I am a cool ahjuma! In Feb this year i went to Seoul for 3week just to stalk Micky knowing that he would be filming RTP but i had no knowledge where his film sites were. I missed him so many times. Once he was filming at the palace near my guesthouse and my Rumanian friend who is also his fan
saw him filmed there for 2 h! However, in April i managed to attend the Baeksang Awards and saw him from afar. I also went to the actual ROOFTOP house twice but they were not filming there! I am a fulltime Micky stalker now that i am retired. LOL!
Some stranger is crawling over my body. It goes by the name enviness! I am so envious right now!

you truly emerged as a very effective and mature actor in this film. you made as laugh on the funny scenes, made us cry on the emotional parts of the movie, and most especially made us fall in love when you were with pak ha. i wish to see you play other roles and i truly believe that you will become better with each movie you make…but please never disregard your singing and dancing, as it’s in this art medium that you have continued to touch your avid fans and listeners. we get to see and hear the real you when you sing and not the character of the role you portray.
