I appreciate a buffet and afternoon snack, but I always scratched my head with the fans who gave the gift to the Idol that already wealthy, if they are also rich in is no problem but if you are poor and can not eat because you spend money on idol You don’t do it,this is one of the negative side fangirl that I hate

i soo agree with you. i wouldn’t donate money to help buy fancy things for idols and other ppl when there are ppl out there starving. i know jyj fans do a lot as far as that, but they waste too much money and resources on unnecessary things like that. imo that’s too materialistic even from a fans point of view.
whether the phenomenon like this only in KPOP industry or exist in every Idol or musicians such as The Beatles, Coldplay, Bieber, and Arashi as the musicians of the world whether they also often get a very expensive gift such as above?
I agree with you, here in th US celebrities tell their fans that if they want to give them gifts, to please donate to a charity on their behalf, I think that is the most proper way to give money for a good cause in your name and a celebrity too!
that’s why I never heard news that Idol outside KPOP receiving gifts from fans and publicized, or perhaps because I was too caught up with only JYJ
I love JYJ, but listen to other type of music and yes, you rarely see in Kpop celebrity fans do this type of gestures like US celebrities fans do, maybe kpop fans like to show their love for their celebrities this way!
i think compared to other fans (esp in the US) asia is big on fan clubs compared to the US. so when ppl in the US give ppl gifts its usually from one person or a group of mutual friends. This was done by a fan club, so i think they publicized it because they want fans w/in the fanclub to know what they did with the money and such. so in that sense i don’t think its bad cause i want to know where my money went that i donated.

Wow! They get really cool stuff without even spending a dime. I have enough for me to live comfortably and I like to support the boys by buying their work and giving a bit to the charitable organizations they sponsor but that’s it. I guess if these people have all this money that’s great but they are so wealthy already. Well, good for them at least we can see them smile because they know they are loved. I could say many things but who knows maybe if I was rich I would be one of those fans myself. Anyway, thanks to the fans that contributed because you made Jae smile and Jae’s smile is priceless.

Surely, the boys can purchase whatever they want…however, fans if they can all contribute a little, can give much…it’s one way that they can give a gift, otherwise, where would you send the gifts you would like to give them individually? Most stars won’t receive gifts, too many from all over the world. These fans also give in the name of the star to charity. Win win situation. Also, this is one way that fans can show their appreciation. Everyone, staff included are all blessed too. Good job, Maze Jae.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with giving celebrity presents. So what if they’re already rich? Gifts are tokens of love and appreciation after all. It’s not like JYJ fans don’t donate to people in need, Heck, they’ve done plenty of charitable projects under the boys’ names. If you love someone and can afford it, of course you will want to give the best to that person. Please don’t look down on others’ efforts and sentiments by saying it’s materialistic.

I understand everything you say and in a way I gree, but not even for a second on my behalf I can look down on a fan that does this type of events for someone, just that Kpop fans are different from US fans that’s why I’m impressed how much effort and love they show to a celebrity by doing it this way.

I hate Justin Beiber and even though he thinks he is all that, I have never seen a fan do anything for him or any other celebrity here, the way Jae is being pampered by the fans over there, yet other kpop celebrities have been pampered this way too. I’ll bet US celebrities would love to see fans do this for them but not sure why they don’t!

I want to pamper my beloved JJ too. I know it seems odd to send expensive gifts to a wealthy celebrity but I am Just so happy looking around for a nice t- shirt for him. It is more for my own gratification. I make monthly donations to charities too but it is a totally different thing. It is more like buying gifts for my love ones.
Let the fans do what they will with their money. People who feel like money should go to charities in the boys’ names should go do that with their own funds; there’s no need to criticize others for how they choose to spend their money.
I’m not criticizing anyone on my behalf, if fans choose to show their love this way to Jae that is amazing, I’m just amazed by this fans but I’m sure the celebrities would love to see fans donate some of that money to charities to places they love to help. But if they have the money to spend, fine by me, is their miney plus I’ m barely learning how fans from other cultures treat their celebrities, just that I need to adjust myself on such beautiful acts!

at some point… with fans like these…. who wouldn’t want to work with JYJ??? Staffs are being showered with gifts too… If I were one of the staff I would think highly of the artist and will think that they are untouchable and great to work with. I mean with support from fans like these… from a staff’s POV, every hardwork is paid off.
