In the broadcast of MBC ‘Dr Jin’ 8th episode on the 17th June, Kim Kyung Tak (Kim Jaejoong) met up with Hong Young Rae (Park Young Min) and expressed his wish to fasten the marriage procedures.
Upon sensing Young Rae’s seemingly unhappiness, Kim Kyung Tak brought Hong Young Rae to the place where they had fond memories, together with Hong Young Rae’s brother Hong Young Hwi (Jin Yi Han) when they were young. After a sword match defeat with Hong Young Hwi, he practiced his swordsmanship whole day and carved Young Rae’s name on a stone. Then, he sincerely confessed, “I will always be waiting. Waiting for my lady to come to me. Please come to my side.”
When Kim Kyung Tak and Hong Young Hwi were drinking alcohol, he vowed to protect Hong Young Rae with his life. Under Hong Young Hwi’s final request, he expressed that “If I would have to die to save my lady, then I will die. Or if my lady has to die for the sake of my living, then I will die as well”, showing his strong will.
Upon hearing the news of Hong Young Rae’s severe injuries due to an accident, he rushed over immediately and teared, showing his deep love for her.
After the broadcast, netizens commented, “The love confession of a Joseon man, even a 21st century woman like me is unable to resist it.”, “If it was that kind of proposal, I don’t mind getting married 100 times.”, “He is going to show his strong manliness now.” etc.
Kim Jaejoong expressed his thoughts, “Due to the status as a concubine’s son, thus Kyung Tak has to live carefully due to restraints. This is the first time he expressed his wants.” and “I am also anticipating what Kyung Tak is going to present in the future. Please continue to observe.”

When we’re watching the first episode, that bandaged man from whom that fetus _like _tumor was taken, remember during the surgery Dr. Jin was struck by a voice “I should go back” when he’s taking out that tumor …
then the bandaged man was taking out some medical tools/medicines with him on the rooftop trying to escape and saying he had to go back, my daughter immediately said “that’s Jaejoong !” . She’s trying to connect the significance of that phrase “I should go back” … and now I realized who else want to go back to Joseon other than Kyung Tak? maybe he would die trying to save someone he really loved.
Remember the scene how Kyung Tak examined the contents of Dr. Jin’s bag (one by one) when he interrogated the doctor, those were the tools selected/taken by the bandaged man not by Dr. Jin ….. maybe I should review the earlier episodes, I’m thinking that bandaged man is not only a random patient but is the key to the mystery of the time slip.

KT’s character is somewhat taken from the Japanese JIN, Sakamoto Ryouma. His character, as well as the fallen noble who has the future king for a son, are Ryouma’s character combined. This is why this drama is like all over the place for me…
I suggest that more people watch the Japanese JIN cos that is really better than what have done so far in TSJ…
Thanks sam-sam, I just finished the subbed Ep.8 and I’m loving the drama so much. I’m glad the Korean version revised the Japanese version or else it would be boring. I bet Ep 9 will be much more interesting, the Prince is starting to get on his feet now, all the characters are making significant marks on the drama, and I’m falling to Yong Rae’s brother character, the next episodes will surely be hearthbreaking.
