I just love Junsu parents, they are so supportive of him. Junsu mother has what I call classic beauty, she is very pretty!!! Accourse Junsu look hot!!!! For the first time I can see a slight resembles to his father but I still think he look mostly like his mother. I cannot wait to see the fancams
hehe..his parents were with him in Taiwan..they must be really proud of their son..junsu daebak..
Junsu’s dad is so cute! Junsu got the beauty from his mother and the cuteness from his father! ♥
I don’t think his parents ever miss a concert, except maybe S America. It’s nice that he had them there. He must miss having JYJ brothers with him.
i don’t think they have ever missed any of the Elisabeth performances, either.
sometimes i wonder why…
sometimes i think there is too much control going on there.
@miss_di
I disagree with you on what you said about being controling, what Junsu’s parents are showing is their love, support and how proud he makes them, they know he needs the strength and who are better than to give him that than his parents because that’s when true family shows they are there for one another in good and in bad times. Junsu is going through so much and I feel happy his parents are taking good care of him!
I don’t know about controlling but I don’t like Junsu’s mother either. It was in somekind of New Year talk show – maybe in 2007? I don’t remember. Jaejoong had his Balloons-hair – where they talked about their parents. I will never forget how Junsu said he can’t really find common ground with his mother, they can’t really talk with each other freely because after his brother was born she wanted a baby girl instead of him and she’s kinda angry with him till now for being born a boy. And how she thought Junho was always better in everything, that’s why Junho was allowed to play baseball and soccer in school but Junsu was’t because they had money only for one of them, that’s why he started singing. He did everything to gain her acknowledgement.
Lo and behold, Junsu is now famous and his mother is always there where ever his precious boy goes, smiling to the camera and doting on him… And Susu loves it. He got what he always longed for.
After that show I hated that woman with passion, sorry.
All this negative thoughts towards Junsu’s mom is just ridiculous, the past is the past, now we’re in the present which is what both of them are doing supporting their son now more than ever because they know how frustrating it is for Junsu to go through the whole lawsuit and the freedom in the entertainment industry. What if she’s an over protective mom, any loving mom does that with their child’s. As for me I admire her and she’s doing an amazing thing on being near her son.
@ Lizzie
I’ve never heard that story even though I’ve been following them for 8years. I remember the one about her mother wanting girls after having the boys (they are twins, by the way – born on the same day) but never about her mom being mad or mean about it. I think it’s all lost in the language translation. And I heard the parents treated him like the youngest not like a daughter or anything less than a boy. And Junsu did play soccer when he was young (according to Junsu and the members) but not baseball. Also based on Junsu’s very innocent/naive/pure and lively personallity, I bet on it being because of the way he was raised. It shows very clearly that his parents love him.
Ps.: I dislike this new wordpress. It doesn’t allow you to post direct reply to the right ID most of the time.
@Lizzy
Now that’s you putting color to the stories. When Junsu told them, he was speaking fondly, obviously.
(1) The one about the mom wanting a daughter came from the interview where she was asked about her reaction to a scenario wherein Junsu suddenly wanted to be a girl. She said that she had always wanted a daughter, so it wouldn’t matter. Doesn’t that speak of acceptance instead of dissatisfaction at having two sons?
(2) They didn’t say Junho was better at everything. Based on physique, Junho had a more athletic body, that’s why they let him into sports; Junsu never said that he never liked singing. Now, they’re adults and able to pursue what they like.
I don’t know how anyone can sound so bitter over parents wanting the best for their children, where their good intentions and support are even being thought as bad.
P.S.
i agree with you @loveunchanged, this format’s very unfriendly to conversation threads
@everybody LOL I wrote a replay to you with the links to the screenshots of the show, maybe somebody could identify what the name of the show was so I can find it for you guys, because I don’t remember it. But they don’t let me post it, I don’t know why… It says it’s waiting for moderation. LOL I watched the show on Youtube with English subs but I can’t find it without the name.
There’s nothing in that post that would need moderation, only a question about the title of the show and some details I could remember from it. I respect others opinion about Junsu’s parents, you could do the same for me. I don’t want to start a fight about it but I have my own based on what I read and see so far, that’s all.
hmm i disagree with you, just being caring parents they are,
i think my parents will do the same for me, because everytime i have events they’re always there to support me
Yeah, I agree it’s kind of frustrating when you can’t answer to the person you really want to, so I’m doing it like this.
No offence taken because of your opinions guys, but I think I have the right to have my own.
For the life of me can’t remember the name of the show. I only know that it was on MBC, a talkshow of some kind. They were talking about many things, their parents, childhood dreams, their school days. I watched it on Youtube and with English subs at that but I can’t find it anymore. I could only find some screenshots on the net maybe somebody will be able to identify it. They held those magic wand things in their hands while talking. Jaejoong was saying how he wanted to be a supermarket owner when he was a kid so he could have anything he wanted but now his dream had changed, he wants a restaurant. There’s some more details I remember, like the hosts saying they look like they like eating pizza, hamburger and such but Yunho was explaining how they only like Korean food probably because most of them from the rural part of the country. They were sending messages to their parents through the screen and Jaejoong became all emotional. I think that was the time he got to know he was adopted because he said something like people always telling him he must always be happy because he recives twice the love than others.
Here’s the screencaps. Does somebody knows this show?

WOW!!! Kim Junsu on national SK TV during his SME days disparaging his Mother? Really?? Man I want to see that because
the SUN must have spun off its axis that day…
Lizzy, first let me say I am not trying to change your opinion of Mrs. Kim, you are welcome to have any opinion you choose. So,at your request I went to my “VAULT” and found the MBC interview your photos were taken from. I present it here to CLARIFY EXACTLY what Junsu DID SAY during the interview you refer to. It seems you may have MISQUOTED him and your comments may lead others to misunderstand.
The photos you have posted are from the MBC show Happy Day in January of 2007. During the show they talked about many things including their parents and towards the end each member sends a special greeting to their parents. But during this program they showed an extended video highlighting Junsu’s parents. They show his Mother at home where she gives a tour of Junsu’s room and his Father’s restaurant and delivery service.
Here is the only portion of dialog from this program (that I could find) where Junsu made any comment that even vaguely resembles your quote.
@2.46 The host asked Junsu ” When you see your parents or talk to them on the phone… especially your Mom you get sad right?”
@2.51 Junsu responds… ” My parents loved daughters (I take this to mean they loved the idea of having a daughter) because a girl would stick to them, and talk to them about what happened etc…. but because I am a guy… I am weak in that part. I don’t SAY I love you and thanks to them alot.” Junsu then looks straight into the camera and says… “Mom thank you and I Love You..”

Unless this is the wrong interview… it seems you’ve based ONE of the reasons for your dislike of Mrs. Kim on a comment Junsu never made.
But please AGAIN, I am NOT trying to change your opinion of her… you are free to have any opinion you choose.. its just that words have power and when it comes to JYJ we all need to be careful whether we are voicing facts, misinformation, or just malicious rumors.
Below I’ve posted the video you refer to and Junsu’s comments BEGIN AT at @2:46….. Towards the end of the video each member sends a greeting to their parents.. it is very touching.
@A Friend of JYJ
I know what I’ve seen but I won’t try to convince anybody. So… Just leave it at that, okay? Before it blows out of proportion.
I’m willing to admit that maybe I remembered wrong. It was five years ago, my knowledge of English language was way worse then now, I only started learning it. So maybe I did understand it incorrectly.
But that doesn’t change the fact that I don’t like this woman. Call it a gut feeling if you want.
Ah, thank you for finding the name of the show! After watching this part now I can remember. This is not the part I’m talking about, in this part he only repeats his earlier words with some tweaks about his mom and her wanting a girl, like an explanation of somekind. What I’m talking about is before that but I can’t find it on Youtube? So it must be in part 4 then but it seems it’s missing. But okay, I will let it go.
Going to every performance doesn’t equate to being controlling. Here in the US, it’s the norm to go to your child’s every game/sport performance, rather than the opposite. It gives the child a sense of support and encourages them to do better. And of all the parents in the world, I can sincerely say that American Parents (majority) are the least controlling.
@loveunchanged
I totally agree with you, I’m a supportive parent myself and that is the most valuable feeling a child can hold for ever!
Yes it is . ^__^
@missdi – negative things that we are not sure of, or hv any business in, has better left unsaid.
@Lizzy – i’ve read and watch many of his interviews since debut too. and he has always been fond and respected her. he really looks highly of his mother. i even think that he might be a mommy’s boy xD
true that he had said those things, but he was mentioning those when he explain about his family’s economical problems in the past.
i think its ridiculous to look at mama and papa kim in any negative ways..
“i’ve read and watch many of his interviews since debut too. and he has always been fond and respected her. he really looks highly of his mother. i even think that he might be a mommy’s boy xD”
Yes, that’s the main problem for me. It seemed to me that Junsu did everything he could to gain her recognition but it didn’t really work untill he was famous and successful. But I don’t really want to start a fight about this topic, it’s my opinion based on what I read and heard so far and I respect it if others think differently. So no problem, I respect yours, too.
Junsu’s parents inspire me just the way they are supportive towards their son’s, I want to be the same towards my daughters, lots of blessings to them!
I love how supportive his parents are. And I love that Junsu is very close to his family.
I had the privilege to meet his mom in BKK. She was so lovely and elegant. When she learned that we came all the way from the Philippines to watch Junsu, she was kind enough to have our pics taken with her ^_^
I just had a thought …. I wonder if Junsu will look like his dad more when he is the same age … ^___^
I think its lovely that his parents attend his tours. They probably don’t see Junsu much, so it is a great way to show love and support and experience that amazing feeling when parents watch their child perform. Plus what an excellent reason to visit outside Korea.
I always enjoy seeing Junsu’s parents at his concerts; it shows love and support towards their beloved son
Fans who’ve met both parents at concerts have had nothing but good things to say about Su’s parents. What a lovely family<3
his mom is the sweetest, most sincere and caring person towards others. i have met her and she went out of her way to talk to me even though my korean is barely there and stayed with me even at the elevator trying to communicate. she is a lovely person. all of us have our true not so perfect feelings and why must we get judged for feeling a certain way. the past is the past and people grow and mature and change all the time. i cannot judge others when i am so imperfect myself. i say look at the positive!
OMGosh LOVE these pictures! The man looks like an aristocrat! This soooo TO THE MANOR BORN!
Su is working that outfit for sure! The white fitted shirt with the black peter pan collar, modified vest waistcoat.
And OH MY! Junsu!….. PLEASE I WANT THOSE ARISTOCRAT FIELD BOOTS! (Your stylist has redeemed herself after her failure at the Jakarta, press conference.)
Just look at Junsu….Suave, sophisticated….. and OH SO CONFIDENT… yet in the most humble endearing way and no trace of arrogance. I love his facial expressions as he listens sooo attentively and I can almost see the “wheels” of his brain turning as he squints his eyes and thoughtfully contemplates his answers.
Everything here is perfection, the hair, the outfit… and the boots even the “bling (i.e jewelry) has been adjusted to suit the outfit and the occasion.
After gazing at these for a while I just realized each individual photo captures an aspect of Junsu his…masculine side, feminine side, sweetness, sexy persona, sophistication, yet relaxed, playful, charismatic, teasing side, the ultimate professional, his confidence..
Ahhhh! Just thought of exactly what Junsu is exuding in these photos…. JUNSU HAS BECOME FULLY COMFORTABLE IN HIS OWN “SKIN.” We see an evolution right before our eyes. What comes through in these photos is a very relaxed confidence (without any trace of arrogance) .. Junsu has become an artist.. who not only knows himself well, he knows his craft and more than anything else… this is HIS music… he birthed this album…. so when he talks about it, nothing has to be scripted for him… he simply speaks from his heart. To know what it is you want to do, then to learn to do well and constantly improve upon it, to know that you do that thing well, and then to have the desire to share your passion so others can enjoy it as well…. that’s living.
Thanks again Kim Junsu, you always inspire me to be more and do more.
OKAY THIS POST IS IN THE WRONG PLACE!!!! SORRY….
LOL to you.
It happened to me too…I thot I posted in the correct thread, but I was wrong
