Sometime less is more, especially in the case of JYJ, less exposed- more loved , more sot after, more missed, more everything.
The total attendance for the four days is an easy number to verify and really is the most important number. However… I can’t help but snickering like a maniac at the average attendance per screening. That says all it needs to about SME’s tenuous grasp of reality.
Think about this…we’re talking a difference of 4 months, where SM had the opportunity to promote the hell out of their movie. This is the best they came up with. Every advantage known to mankind at their fingertips, and they still aren’t able to outdo three solitary individuals. I guess appearing on every TV program there is, makes a consumer’s choice easy. Why pay, when you can get it for free?

IMO, it’s because SM the movie only consist of compilation video of their trainee time, with some confession of the artist in it. it’s more like documentary video that you can browse yourself in youtube (fans are whole faster in uploading those) and added that SM postponed the airing time CONTINUOUSLY, it makes audience lost interest you know?
maybe they think if they use EXO’s tactic (with CONTINUOUSLY killing fans with gazillion teaser but not the real thing) they will gain fans interest.
if i can get boring with animal discovery channel, just imagine how boring is it to see a documentation of SM’s biography. besides, likely most of the content about the talks in SM’s video were already out in news. so,what else to see?
unlike JYJ who only give a tid bit of the teaser, it makes fans curious more. and like someone mention above, the bonus of seeing JYJ in person gaining more interest for fans to see.

the reason why i think ‘the day’ was more favorable to the viewers rather than the sm released movie , i read several comments in the net that though they are die hard with their sm’ artists , they could not afford to watch a scripted movie released and produced by sm itself. i mean , the movie should mirage the artist’s life on and off the cam right , but sm will not tolerate negative scenes comments fr the idol themeselves so it was a whitewash movie , expecting a good scenario,good comments bout the entertainment.
So naturally , some of it are edited making the movie producely good but empty contents . The day on the other hand , the boys dont need scripts nor scenarios in order to show what the viewers want . They were like , “this is what we are , and this is what we should be.”
So as an eager fan who would very much like to know the other side of your idol on and off air and what was they’re like , whom do you think worthy to spendthrift expensive tickets in between the two? The lie ?or the truth . Obviously, we got our results.

IMO, it’s because SM the movie only consist of compilation video of their trainee time, with some confession of the artist in it. it’s more like documentary video that you can browse yourself in youtube (fans are whole faster in uploading those) and added that SM postponed the airing time CONTINUOUSLY, it makes audience lost interest you know?
maybe they think if they use EXO’s tactic (with CONTINUOUSLY killing fans with gazillion teaser but not the real thing) they will gain fans interest.
if i can get boring with animal discovery channel, just imagine how boring is it to see a documentation of SM’s biography. besides, likely most of the content about the talks in SM’s video were already out in news. so,what else to see?
unlike JYJ who only give a tid bit of the teaser, it makes fans curious more. and like someone mention above, the bonus of seeing JYJ in person gaining more interest for fans to see.

the reason why i think ‘the day’ was more favorable to the viewers rather than the sm released movie , i read several comments in the net that though they are die hard with their sm’ artists , they could not afford to watch a scripted movie released and produced by sm itself. i mean , the movie should mirage the artist’s life on and off the cam right , but sm will not tolerate negative scenes comments fr the idol themeselves so it was a whitewash movie , expecting a good scenario,good comments bout the entertainment.
So naturally , some of it are edited making the movie producely good but empty contents . The day on the other hand , the boys dont need scripts nor scenarios in order to show what the viewers want . They were like , “this is what we are , and this is what we should be.”
So as an eager fan who would very much like to know the other side of your idol on and off air and what was they’re like , whom do you think worthy to spendthrift expensive tickets in between the two? The lie ?or the truth . Obviously, we got our results.

- Allied with new singers and groups, dominate all sorts of polls, voting, news stream, music banks on all sites. In youtube, always inserted next to JYJ featured videos, and the click rate always 5 times of JYJ videos within a short period . (eg. SNxx OST always next to Yuchun’s rooftop prince)
- ALL production cost very high for JYJ, coz no commercial sponsors prefer groups unable to expose freely on TV, so the scale of the concert , for example Xia Junsu venues are smaller, but rental still not cheap. PRC 7/7/2012 surprise Junsu only one day concert , only 4100 seats, for his popularity right now, should have able to go for a bigger venue. But , we respect Cjes and Junsu’s final decsions.

From chart 1, The Day only have 107 Screens, but SM have 522 Screens
From chart 2, The Day only have 139 shows, SM have 1,134 shows
From chart 3, The Day gathered 24,163 viewers, SM gathered 14,465 viewers
From chart 4, the percentage of seats being occupied was The Day’s averange in 72,38% while SME’s 7.65 %
so, by the end of both 4 days screening time :
- The Day from 107 screens, shown 139x, gathered 24,163 viewers and have average of 72,38% per day of seats being occupied
- SM The Movie from 522 screens, shown for 1,134x (wow its 8x more than The Day!), gathered 14,465 viewers and have average of 7.65% perday of seats being occupied.
