Highly praising, saying, “Songs of Treasure Island” … Taiwan’s response to Kim Junsu’s solo concert
‘Perfect! Never seen such a singer!’
After successful ‘XIA 1st Asia Tour in Taiwan’ concert on June 23 at the Taiwan University Stadium, the local community has shown enthusiastic response to Kim Junsu(XIA).
Taiwanese major media including the Liberty Times, the China Times, the Apple Daily, and the Associated Times put significance on news of Kim Junsu’s concert. The Taiwanese media said in chorus, “A splendid and gorgeous man Kim Junsu has captivated Taiwanese fans on the day of Dano.”
The local media summed up his concert with emotional words – ‘conduct with a wand,’ ‘songs of treasure island.’ In particular, they introduced in details his profile such as his age, body size, and awards career and statistics concerned to the current concert, raising the pubic’s interest.
Journalist watching his concert on the spot also unanimously praised his concert.
Editor Yo Peryung of Hanryugam said, “I was able to confirm again that he is a talented singer by witnessing him do live performances, without any error, which is equalled with what I saw from his music video.” And he added, “Beautiful voice and perfect harmony between songs and performances. His concert was a series of surprise and admiration. I’ve never seen such a concert. I’m very happy seeing such a star like Kim Junsu on the spot.”
Reporter Ri Lyupyung of the same journal said, “Kim Junsu’s voice has a wide range of emotion. Only with his voice, music can be completed.” And he added, “Today’s concert was same. His deep and broad spectrum of emotion was conveyed to the audience and they received and absorbed his emotion.”
Journalist Gang MUnsun from the Taiwan Gakchun said, “Kim Junsu’s merit is his astonishingly explosive ability of seizing the stage.” He acknowledge Kim Junsu’s capability, with saying, “Yesterday he was a mild and pure boy at the press conference but today he gave greatly different impression with very powerful performances. It is rare to see such a singer who have mixed image – both pure and powerful.”
Another reporter from other media complimented, by saying, “It is hard for me to understand how sexiness and charisma can coexist in a man. During the concert I was fully fascinated by him. I was greatly inspired by him controlling the stage from the beggining to the end and throwing himself completely without overlooking trivial things.”
Fans were showing the same response. Wang Yujung said, “His great merit is that he always shows perfect performances regardless of genre, from dance music to ballad song and to musical number. And he really has a wide spectrum of charm.”
Hanna from Taichung said, “As time goes by, he gets much stronger, and shows anew aspect that we’ve never seen. He has attraction that we cannot escape from. He has a remarkably surprising ability from singing and performance to writing lyrics and composing.”
Huh Yunjung was close to tears, mentioning the video showed during the concert, “I was deeply touched by him constantly trying and preparing for the best performances even at the time we cannot see him. I made up my mind to put full effort in everything I do as he does.”
Meantime, Kim Junsu is on his Asia tour after releasing his first solo album, and now mobilized as many as 26000 audience in four countries.

Knowing JunSu’s talent and the passion for his craft, I didn’t expect anything else. He is amazing. PERIOD.
Well that’s Junsu power and charm. He always give his 100 % and more effort in everything that he done. He who look so cute, funny and adorable boy in the outside or off the stage till his beloved hyungs always said that he doesn’t have any charisma changes 180′ to be a sexy, cool, perfectionist, charismatic person when he step his own feet into the stage.
Everyone who have a chance to see his live performances, will live under his spell forever..^^

Releasing this solo album will be one of Junsu’s best decisions ever made, along with his foray into musicals. Despite the odds being against him, he went ahead anyway and has shown brilliant results. He is now reaping the fruits of his labour. Of course the road ahead is still long and possibly paved with much difficulties, but I don’t see him looking back.
Junsu is indeed a brilliant singer. Not only does he sing well, he’s also an awesome dancer. He’s a stage treasure for sure.
While these rave reviews are only what I expected, I am still so thrilled for Junsu. Tackling an intensely physically exhausting show like this as a solo artist is a monumental achievement. I just knew he’s knock himself out to do his best and even so, he seems to have exceeded all expectations. Congratulations, dear Junsu for a brilliant concert series that proves you are a star of remarkable magnitude.

When I read this I broke in to tears. Read again the reporter says >>> “.. I MADE UP MY MIND TO PUT FULL EFFORT IN EVERYTHING I DO AS HE DOES..”
She came to the concert to hear music, to just be entertained but she gained even more…. she left with a desire and motivation to make a change in her life. Now that is profound, this is truly significant. Junsu has truly done something here that even transcends his artistry. Through his aura and his artistry he has inspired others to WANT TO BE MORE AND DO MORE!
Junsu’s very way of just being himself, his passion for living life to the utmost, giving 150% to all that he does, his pursuit of excellence so that others can enjoy music…all if this comes through when you encounter him.. it is impossible to miss. This is why I follow him. Junsu’s unquenchable passion to give everything of himself in order to give the very best performance possible for his audience to enjoy… just simply amazes me. He spills himself out so that others can feel enjoyment, can feel happiness. He inspires me every day to give more of myself unselfishly to others.
At this moment I am so proud of Junsu. Junsu’s very life has become a blessing and an inspiration to others. Isn’t that what True Lliving is about? To be able to just be yourself, and do the work, the art that you LOVE to do and at the same time be a REAL BLESSING and inspiration to others, more than just making people feel good, but having encountered you they too want to live a life filled with joy and passion.
To Live to be a BLESSING to others…to be someone who by your very presence and all that you do… you motivate and inspire others to also want to live a better life. NOW THAT IS LIVING!

Such sincere and touching praise for Junsu; I couldn’t have expressed it better. I wondered in yesterday’s post if the Taiwan audience knew what a gift they were given with Su’s performance, well by the above remarks from reporters, my question was surely answered
Xia and solo… not only made fan’s lives much more vibrant, it also gave his a career boost. Once again proving his ability to reach out to people with his talent and nature. I love you, xiah/xia Junsu.
