“Dr. Jin” Screenwriter Praised Jaejoong’s Acting
[TRANS] Reply to a Fan: Thank you for support the drama till its end although it still leaves much to be desired. Personally, I hope that Kim Jaejoong-ssi, who has played so well Kim Kyungtak-ssi, will get to work with a better writer in a great drama.^^

Honest to say, I don’t understand the second post. What does that mean?
I don’t understand either one. Is the writer of “Dr Jin” dissing his own series?? I don’t get it….
Yesterday I was sad to see that 2 of Jaejoong’s key ending scenes had been cut. That’s really disappointing.
Well, Like BAFfie said, the script has had its share of problems…
Hi Sis,
The scripter is a woman. DB had some reservations about her from the beginning, due to past dramas. But let’s keep in mind, as we both know, the scriptwriter has to put down the thoughts and visions of the director. The director is also going to control the editing. As the saying goes, the buck stops with the director. DB also had reservations about him too. Looks like they were on the mark with this one.
LOL! “Well, Like BAFfie said, the script has had its share of problems…”
I think my exact words were, “hot mess”. Oh, I’ve also seen the term train wreck used.
Maybe there is a possibility of commenting/complaining about screen time or direction of the story. Who knows? But like anything else, this will be a learning experience for Jae and team at CJeS. Look more closely at the decision makers on each project. That will give you a clue.
The second one refers to a shot of the crew working in the heat. A fan on the ground. It appeared on the Tweet from City of Seoul. I think it must have been used for a promo.
@seoulmania, the twitter page of Seoul Metropolitan Government – the admin must be watching Dr. Jin and a Kyung Tak Fan and of course a follower of @mjjeje
And yes Ms. Screenwriter, hope Jae ” will get to work with a better writer in a great drama” , and I’m thankful that you have given Jae scenes which highlight his acting ability, he has shown a lot in this drama, much more than those actors starred in most popular and high-rated Kdramas.
Yup, I also hope he’ll work with better scriptwriters, directors, and production team for his next drama. Dr. Jin is too sloppy. It’s pretty sudden that the City of Seoul Twitter account mentioned Jaejoongie and cheered him on though.
so even the writer knew this drama was never enough to show jae’s acting skills . She cared for this fine actor that she is recommending him to the world of acting . also , the deleted scenes maybe is a must since they have to wrap up the entire drama well exalting the main leads by means of giving them more scenes to utilize remaining episodes and not intending to delete the supporting actors scenes ..the drama had so much to tell but had a few critical episodes to nail it all .and i must say , as a critique and viewer , as everyone said the supporting leads shone out better than the two leads despite their hardwork . they need more than an act to make their next project work . They need soul and passion to make their characters alive to persuade the viewers .
to the staff and crew , good luck til the last episodes and rating

“so even the writer knew this drama was never enough to show jae’s acting skills . She cared for this fine actor that she is recommending him to the world of acting .”
Well, as maybe you and certainly many people here know, I am a huge fan of K-dramas and a regular, literally every day watcher of them. This is quite a statement from the writer of “Dr Jin” and I think it goes to how deeply impressed with Jaejoong’s performance she was that she made special mention of him in the tweet. This is only his second K-drama. He has really gone leaps and bounds ahead in every department on this one compared to “Protect The Boss.” He has “played against type” which is of course every actor’s secret longing; It lets them show what they can do. I predict that his next one will be the Big One. Let’s see what happens….
lets all hope that if it really happened which is possibly in the future , this time he’s the main lead and that the next director will put trust of mr jae’s acting capabilities .. but right now he deserves a good rest and vacation and retraining his voice again since he have this long absence in singing, his vocals may have not adapted the changes but im sure he will carry it out well .
everyone misses him on stage .
best of luck mr kim jaejoong
he’s always working hard for very part he takes……….best wishes to him for all the way through…………….
I hope for an amazing drama with Jaejoong as the main lead + good script.
Even though Jaejoong’s acting was amazing in Dr.Jin… SSH and PMY were so….bland. Lee Bumsoo was good too though…But SSH and PMY were like “meh”. Kyungtak and Haeung kept the drama going IMHO rather than SSH and PMY.
Be honest, I hope his next drama not action character again. I love to hear his sing than acting even he acting is good too.
I do not like Dr Jin at all, al also want JJ in a better drama… <__< i cannot… (i am sorry for those how like it. )
Did everybody get a chance to see this video? It’s really cool and it really shows Jaejoong’s athleticism as a swordsman. (Jin Yi Han’s too.) He seems to approach it almost like dance. Check it out.^^
Thank you for making of Kyung Tak an interesting character ^^
I really don’t want him to jump on a lead role yet especially if it is some insipid “good-guy” role. Those phony characters make me wanna puke! >-<
I think there are many things that JJ should put into consideration before he picks his next role. The director, the editor and the writer should be thoroughly researched so as to avoid hot messes like this in the future. Also what roles speak to him as a person? That one is personal but I really hope whatever role he picks that he challenges himself. He should also seek the counsel and instruction of those who have a true acting career which are frankly not his idol-actor friends.
*sorry but it is the truth* He is not *brand new* but he is still fairly new and so what advice could fellow rookies offer him? Nothing he doesn't already know. Support maybe but not much else.
To me the problem is how involved and dedicated one is. SSH is not a great actor. From his trajectory (90's to now) he has improved but he is still a so-so actor. He did well in dramas that didn't demand too much from him as he steadily improved but he still makes mistakes. I just can't forgive that because that is his vocation. I don't blame him for the script because that is not in his in control or the director's decisions but his acting? He is in complete control of that. Can anyone imagine LSB or Kim Nam Gil heck even Jang Geun Suk make the ridiculous faces he does? After 2 decades of acting? That is just too much. I don't know if he tries too hard or just the opposite but I can't with him sometimes.
Anways, I can't speak for Jaejoong so I just hope he never conforms and that he never gives in on other people's expectations for *his* career. I'm certain he won't let himself down and that he'll provide this faithful fan with plenty of quality work in the future.

“I think there are many things that JJ should put into consideration before he picks his next role. ”
I really enjoyed reading your post. I guess I’m a little more forgiving of SSH (just for Handsomeness Factor) but then I always was a terribly superficial fool. lol I was wondering though — do they have Film Acting Schools in Seoul? There are sure a lot of them here, although…well…it’s Los Angeles.
There’s nothing wrong with a major star attending one here either. Marilyn Monroe put in her time at The Actors Studio in NYC when she was already a household name and was the better artist for it. An actor’s choice of roles, because there are SOOO many variables that he has no control over, often comes down to dumb good luck. Some actors just seem to have the knack for finding great roles. (Hyun Bin, Park Shi Hoo among others) As we all know so well, Jaejoong has the most astounding luck that anyone could ever hope to have. Then, when you add his talent, his beautiful face and his ability to win people young and old, famous or not almost instantly to his side… well, you have a very enigmatic and arresting personality for the age.
I don’t know… but if I had to bet, I’d bet on Jaejoong, any day of the week. In my humble opinion, he’s GOT IT and when you do, the roles, the scripts, the directors seem to wind their way toward you as if by gravitational pull. Honestly I can’t WAIT to see what he’ll do next.
I agree that he will find roles that will be wonderful. I can’t wait either! I confess I get giggly when I think about it. I’m waiting anxiously for “The Jackal is Coming” too. I am convinced that Jaejoong has “IT” too because if he could still shine in this hot mess and alongside an actor like Lee Beom Soo…..then Jaejoong is doing just fine. I think he can improve in the particulars though. Little things like his hand movements and I also find he used to stomp a bit when he walked earlier in the series. I’m glad he worked that awkwardness out. If Jaejoong decides he needs instruction then the Marilyn Monroe route is A-OK with me. I don’t care how he does it! Just do it kid!!!! The sky is the limit!
JiHyo is amazing and I’m sure they’ll both do wonderful! I find that those two have like a….brother-sister feel that I didn’t get when he has with Hyo Joo or Ji Hye so if they convince me that they are a pairing I’ll be completely bought!
I also wonder for Yoochun. What will he do next? I’m still watching RP because I did not have time while it was on air. This kid….I wonder what he is planning to do. He is quite the ninja!

Again, loved your post.
Did you see the video I posted earlier today? It is of Jaejoong’s swordplay with Jin Yi Han. Taken as a whole, I came away more impressed by far than before. He approaches his action scenes as if they were dance. it’s impressive and here I was worried that Jae wouldn’t be able to pull off an action role that demanded that he be seen as “the best swordsman in Joseon.” Silly me.
As for JiHyo, I learned all I needed to know about her from watching her in “A Frozen Flower.” She is an amazing actress.
I predict that Yuchun will transition into another drama role quickly. I think that he will find a really meaty role this time that stretches him as an actor. He has said he wishes to play an assassin and I imagine that SK screenwriters have been working overtime ever since to write something for him like that. lol I guess we’ll see.
@retrokim
Oh, here is that video I mentioned:
T___________________T
I love you Jaejoong!
If I may ask a question? I read in one of your earlier comments that you watch many Korean dramas. Have you ever seen “Shin Don” or “The Sandglass?” I loved them both but some people say they are too boring. T___________T
If you have seen either, what did you think of them? Also….any recommendations cause I haven’t seen many K-dramas. I can count them with both hands…..
Also this is what happens when you don’t put any effort:
I find 1:55 (on the 2nd video) to be particularly hilarious but take your pick friend!!
@retrokim
[I love Jaejoong too. Honestly, I can't understand how anyone man or woman can resist him. The haters always leave me completely mystified.]
Anyway, no I haven’t seen either Shin Dong or Sandglass. But I do watch a lot of dramas. Right now, for instance, I’m watching Dr Jin and Family’s Honor online and Tamra, The Island which I have on disc. I’m a complete Song Il Guk fanatic so of course I’d immediately have to recommend Jumong, Kingdom Of The Winds and Emperor Of The Sea. I’d also recommend Princess’ Man, Iljimae and The Return Of Iljimae, Secret Garden, Snow Queen, Hwang Jin Yi, You’re Beautiful, Hong Gil Dong, oh dear, there are so many…. Some day when I’m really bored I’ll put together a real list of everything I’ve really liked. But that’s ALOT to choose from to get you started.
I’m an avid manga reader too , and I want to share this word one of the character said ( though in real this is the thought of its author) ‘In the world of showbiz , don’t randomly select projects and be whiny with it just because you are not chosen to be the main lead . Rather give your best in whatever you do immersed yourself from it and be faithful to the character you’re playing . Sooner you don’t have this problem to choose which fits you best . THE WILL CHOOSE YOU .
Everyone even famous artists starts from the scratch. Mr jae may have already known that and probably his seniors emphasize that word to him . He’s ambitious alrite but he’s also enthusiastic and striving which is good . And that bright filled expression and eyes that burns like embers of fire ready to shone out the world is promising that he have still talents hiding behind his sleeve . Hard working, pure talent , charm, and good attitude are what makes a dismal person to become illustrious , and with what he’s now , he was on the right road.
So be it main lead or supporting cast , it doesn’t matter , really. Coz as long as he shows his best among the rest , even a nonfan could profoundly recognize and praise him . He just have to stay as what he is now and continue listening to the pros and his seniors well .,
I definitely agree. I wish some people could see that! This is about what is best for him at the moment. He is still learning and revealing things about himself and as long as he continues like this the good things will come in due time. Heck, the praise he has gotten so far isn’t because of rabid fans (can you believe moron antis are spreading that lie around?) but because he really has improved and shown growth. People who are fans and people who aren’t fans don’t owe anything to Jaejoong so if they give praise then it is because they believe he has done great. This isn’t cassiopeia! We don’t go on some asswipe’s twitter and bash like crazy so that whole anti excuse just reveals how lame and false they are!
Poor things! While they waste their youth hating on someone who doesn’t even know who they are, JJ will be improving and enjoying his life!
