T/N: Fabien Yoon acted as the French Priest in “Dr. Jin”
Fabien Yoon apologized to JYJ fans.
French model and actor Fabien Yoon recently wrote via his Twitter page, “To all the JYJ fans, I apologize if you were hurt by my tweet. That wasn’t my intention. I just simply chose the wrong words. I was only trying to express my personal opinion on the Dokdo issue.”
“I apologize if I hurt any feelings,” he said. “I will act more prudently in the future. Please support ‘Dr. Jin’ until the end.”
Ahead of this tweet, Fabien shared a photo of a rice wreath that a Japanese JYJ fan sent to Jaejoong, who is currently filming MBC drama ‘Dr. Jin‘. Along with the photo, Fabien had written, “It’s good to see the support, but can we stop saying that Dokdo is their land?“, causing controversy amongst fans everywhere.
There is a recurrent territorial dispute between Japan and Korea over Dokdo/Takeshima, an island that sits geographically between the two countries.
Fans who saw Fabien’s tweet responded with, “It’s just his opinion,” and “He apologized, so let’s just pretend this never happened.”

Sorry but why is this guy important? O_O
Yep thats what you get if your talking about two proud nations.. It’s normal actually that he says that.. Anyway.. He does know that it wasnt the place.. + its a drama.. I bet there are Japanese movies/dramas to where it’s said..
Who is he?
It’s the catholic priest who Youngrae helped to escape.
AAAAAAHHHH now I know who he is, but still it’s the fans fault for paying attention to him, he’s not worth JYJfans time. >__<
ohhh… now i remember him… the french priest in dr. jin.. thank you for the info.
lol what did he even write?
he’s just riding the fame with enrages fans
and do i know him???
controversial tweet??? sorry, i dont get it.. why is it controversial? and who is he??? is he famous??
I think is controversial because is a place that is dispute between South Korea and Japan.
ohh.. its because of that island.. what does jyj had to do with it?
That’s a very important question. What does this have to do with JYJ or JYJ fans? People drag us into the siliest and the most JYJ-unrelated things. What do they think we are? A garbage can? LOL. End of rant.
It’s because he posted a picture of the flower wreath for Jaejoong along with his tweet. Imagine you were the Japanese fans who sent those flowers to congratulate Jae on finishing Dr. Jin, then a random dude took a picture of the wreath and mocked Japanese people on Twitter over a sensitive issue between 2 governments. Now, tell me, would you get mad?
ohh… now i understand.. thank you.. i guess he doesn’t have Japanese fans to send him flower wreath that’s why he used those flower wreath given for Jaejoong..
Pls clarify what is it.
Today S Korea (10-Aug) is about going on this related Island, and Japan so against on this ,
pls dun drag JYJ fans into this political issue.
**edit **
Today S Korea (10-Aug) , the President Lee is about going on this related island….
Did he say something bad about JYJ or their fans? It doesn’t seem like that so don’t see why he has to apologize :/
he is been a bit stupid! he want the fame because is inpopular! is has sais that things stupids!
he for me don’ t be none! then why give to he all this importance?
for me exsist just jyj! and stop!
U_U
Whatever he said to me is a waste of time and he is like many jealous idiots that wants to take his little fame he seeks by the sake of JYJ!
If he wants to express his opinion about that territorial dispute, then just state his opinion. There’s no need to post along a picture of the flower wreath that Japanese fan(s) sent to Jaejoong. It was not even for him. The flowers were for congratulatory and supporting purpose, meaning a happy event. Don’t use it for anything other than that. Next time think before you act.
I agreed with @Angie.
I don’t know who he is? But I think he is JJ’s friend, therefore after what’s happened, at the wraped-up party JJ comforted and encouraged him; JJ told him ” let it go and it will be fine”.
At least, he apologized JYJ’fans included Me. OK let’s past, only this time silly kid. Be careful, what’s you tweets next time.
wow , yes!…this makes things more complicated .
whats wrong with all these offensive and angry comments?
he apologized so it should be fine, why is everyone always like “…” is just using JYJs fame blah… I really dont get this in this fandom … Anyhow he apologized so its fine, right? Maybe he didn’t mean it in a bad way, more like he was joking?
A little bit advice do not joking with a sensitive issue like this (untill this day this is still a sensitive situation for korean and japanese people).
anyway just like most everyone here said “dont bring JYJ” here, he can say what he what.. that his problem but why must bring JJ here, i dislike him bcs of that.
typo “what he want”
The problem is that he talked about a very sensitive issue between Japan and South Korea and yet somehow managed to involve Jaejoong and JYJ fans which is completely stupid. He IS riding his 10 minutes of fame. No one even knew about this until he made a big deal about it. You really don\’t think there is anything odd about this? Did he apologize and send a wreath to SSH, PMY, JYH or LBS?
Also…..how is it a joke? Joke about what? It isn’t like he said a punchline or something. I agree that fans should let it go and not give him anymore attention but that doesn’t mean I’m going to pretend like he didn’t have ulterior motives.
for me is jealous of jj because he have a gift.
is he nothing! he want fame! think
before of speak!
stupid little kid!
he kniw of don’t be none! is want a bit glory!
is has write that things on twitter!
U_U
Can someone Plz what exactly did he write???
“Ahead of this tweet, Fabien shared a photo of a rice wreath that a Japanese JYJ fan sent to Jaejoong, who is currently filming MBC drama ‘Dr. Jin‘. Along with the photo, Fabien had written, “It’s good to see the support, but can we stop saying that Dokdo is their land?“, causing controversy amongst fans everywhere.”
I stopped skimming (bad habit) and it seems that a Japanese fan sent a rice wreath to Jaejoong as a congratulatory gift for finishing the filming for Dr. Jin. Someone took a picture of the rice wreath and uploaded it on the internet. He (Fabien Yoon) saw the picture and added the comment, “It’s good to see the support, but can we stop saying that Dokdo is their land?” which caused awkwardness for Jaejoong’s Japanese fans especially for the one who sent the wreath.
I thought at first that he made some dumb comment on twitter and then sent a rice wreath to Jaejoong as an apology but this is like….a lot worse because he tainted the very nice gesture the fan did for Jaejoong with his pseudo-political comment. What a fucking asshole! It doesn’t even make sense, what he did. I also find the Korean netizens may be trying to bury this to not look bad because if it had been a Japanese person who said that…..shit would hit the ceiling.
Aha…Got it! ThanxXx <3
Well, this guy is really strange, What brings Politics to a Fan sending a gift to Jaejoong?! He is really Weird
Yep. You are correct. I’m thinking he did this to gain attention because who does that? I’m not the most subtle or restrained person (some sisters here will vouch for that lol) but even I know that you don’t bring up delicate issues like that especially when the fan made no mention of Dokdo Island/Takeshima and it is just a completely unrelated matter. I’m seriosuly hating how paranoid I am but do you notice this crap happens when the boys travel outside the country?
Also, “nice to see support” LOL! His role is so microscopic and yet he spoke like the support was for him and not Jaejoong. Ridiculous.
But why is he apologizing specifically to JYJ fans? I mean, is it because he made a political issue out of charitable donation (very tacky)? And now he wants to apologize to the fans because he choose that image to go along with his political rant? If that is the case, ok, but this still kind of reeks of SPAIF.
Exactly!
I don’t understand what happened, but I don’t understand all this hate in the comments above, do we even know him? I’m not sure I can say anything bad or good about him, I didn’t understand the problem and know nothing about his activites. peace
You might not understand because you don’t know what he tweeted.
He tweeted, not exactly but based on what I remember, “It is okay to send flowers to Korean, but can’t you stop fucking saying Dokdo is your territory? (attached with the flower wreath picture of Jaejoong’s)”
What the heck….?
Yeah, it’s is so fine that he states Dokdo is Korea’s territory,
but why does he need to attach JYJ fans’ flower wreath?
And he is even a co-actor of Jaejoong in Dr. Jin. LOL. How rude.
correction:
*the flower wreath picture of Jaejoong’s that JYJ fans gave to him
it’s a good thing he apologized, he shouldn’t have attached that picture of jyj fans’ flower wreath
but anyway, he looks so frigging young on this picture in comparison to dr.jin
I read the news article, Fabien explained that he saw the flower wreath with words “Support from Japan”, actually he didn’t know that the flower was for JJ. Then he took a picture, and tweeted “Dokdo is not a part of Japan” with it. After he tweeted, he received many protest messages from JYJ fans from Korea, Japan or even his mother country France. His own Japanese fan cafe is stopped too. He thought that he is thoughtless, and feel sorry for JJ and fans. He deleted the tweet and posted an apologized message in his twitter.
In the wrap-up party, JJ comforted and encouraged him, JJ said just let it go and all will be fine.
Oh wow! If JJ let it go then I will too but I do wonder what possessed him to write that message. Even if the wreath had not been for Jaejoong it was still a very crass action. Hopefully he learned to not mix politics with a fan’s goodwill gesture.
“His own Japanese fan cafe is stopped too”…ohhh.. poor him… lessons learned..
“JJ comforted and encouraged him..JJ said just let it go and all will be fine.“ … ok, next topic..
JJ TO BE BEEN VERY CUTE WITH THIS FABIEN!
BUT FOR ME ALSO HE ; HAS THINK THAT FABIEN TO BE RUDE!
BUT DON’T MAKE THIS BECAUSE JJ IS CUTE IS SWEET!
Actually, if as everyone here says that this young man is not that popular, most likely his tweet will not create so much furor if everybody else will not make so much fuss about it. Yes, what he did, it was uncalled and insensitive, but let’s stop sharpening our teeth every chance we get. There is this tendency to jump a person and chew at them w/o giving them a little time to understand what they did wrong. He made a mistake, but everyone else jumping on him were wrong because instead talking with him what his comment meant. Westerners are insensitive towards Asian cultures, Asian cultures are insensitive towards Westerners. For fuk sake, the physical and virtual borders between countries/ cultures are getting smaller and smaller by the day, if we don’t stop biting at each other, sooner or later, we end up chewing each others heads up. If we think of what he said from a political/ social, etc point that boy is making some sense, he just didn’t choose the right moment to express those progressive views.
errrr….do I know him? what, no?
okay….pass!!!!
it’s not like the japanese fans who sent those gifts want to claim dokdo island as their teritory. if he attached another pic, it’d be his business.
random: k-netizens/news seems to be veeeeery forgiven to this kind of thing. nothing surprising though.
i really doubt he is trying to ride on the coat tails of jyj’s fame. he’s young and seemingly impulsive. he just learned you can’t say everything you feel when you are in the public’s eye.
