“Park Yoochun” The acting-dol whom even drama critics acknowledges
The return of Dong Bang Shin Ki’s “Micky Yoochun” to being “Park Yoochun” announced the birth of an acting gem. In the beginning, towards him whom challenged the route of an actor for the first time, the comments were not friendly, however, through acting in “Sungkyunkwan Scandal”, he overcame those controversies.
“Sungkyunkwan Scandal” which was broadcasted in 2010 was a widely popularised drama that had created many “Sungseu Paein”*. As the leading actors of a drama that focuses on young actors, Park Yoochun, Park Minyoung, Yoo Ah In and Song Joongki can easily add on to the controversies if they were reckless. However, the four of them brilliantly portrayed their characters, and not only did they raised the audiences’ involvement into the drama, they won acknowledgement for their acting as well. In particular, the acting that received the most attention was undoubtedly “Park Yoochun”.
The role of a righteous, upright scholar “Lee Sunjoon” was as if it had been custom-made, and he had determinedly portrayed the character of “Lee Sunjoon”. Unlike the initial controversies, he exhibited high quality acting skills, broke through the preconceived notion of “idols cannot act”, and established himself as an actor with good acting. In demonstrating this, through this “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” piece, he won a lot of awards that year. “KBS Acting Awards New Male Actor Award”, “Netizen Male Category”, “Baeksang Arts Awards TV Category New Male Actor Award”, etc, sweeping numerous awards, and established his status as an actor.
Park Yoochun exhibited diversified acting in “Sungkyunkwan Scandal”, “Miss Ripley” and “Rooftop Prince”. What can be felt in his acting is the deep sorrows and joys of life. Just as his tough life story was before he became a celebrity, there is tender affection and ardent in his acting. An actor with outstanding acting skills, Park Yoochun. *Sungseu is the short form for Sungkyunkwan Scandal, while Paein means disabled person; Sungseu Paein refers to fans of the drama who are so hooked they don’t do anything except for wait for drama updates

What I think you meant to say is that there are Jaejoong fans who can’t keep from mentioning JJ in a Yoochun post which can irritate Yoochun fans and is rude. Given that, I find that JJ has improved but can be stiff at times. I’m almost finished with “Rooftop Prince” so I’ll reserve judgement until I’m done watching.

I think I’ll be taking my cue from the behavior and actions of the Soulmates themselves. Not mention Jae in a Yuchun piece? Not mention Yuchun in one about Jaejoong?? Oh yeah. Those two love each other like crazy but I can’t say the same about certain fans. JYJ are in one group so it is natural when fans talk about all three even though the story may be about one. Typically those posts bring no offense but sometimes (very regrettably) there are fans who feel the need to bring up another member solely to compare with very malicious intentions in mind. They don’t compare in observation (which is natural) but rather as an exercise in trying to put one of the members up at the expense of another. I don’t think this was any such case but morenaflorena didn’t like that someone mentioned JJ’s acting in a Yoochun post.
I find that there is an ugly dynamic between the fans but not the members, NEVER the members. Those three are brothers and that reality can’t be changed by anyone but those three individuals. Butthurt fans however are another story. I think the reason for this is that while Junsu seems to have shown no real interest in anything but singing (even when he acts he chooses to do musicals) Yoochun and Jaejoong have shown similar interests and acted upon those interests. As a consequence both have acted in dramas and while naturally one can compare and contrast the less well-intentioned will inevitably bring up the “So and so is better than so and so. If you disagree. lol. you are just a butthurt fan in denial.”
I think that may be a reason why “fan-rivalry” doesn’t seem to be as much between Xiah-fans with Jaejoong and Yoochun fans. To say that a group is just more mature or more open-minded is ridiculous. There is no such thing as inherit values within a group but there are inherit circumstances. So this is one reason why I think that there are these little bursts of tension between some of the Yoochun and Jaejoong fans. You don’t mean anything bad when you mention Yoochun in a Jaejoong post or vice versa but that doesn’t mean other fans are like you. I know my suggestion is not ideal but these kinds of fans need the exercise in restraint until they can grow up a bit and stop thinking that an innocent mention of another member is a guerilla tactic against their bias. You however can talk about all three all you want. You are very honest and fair.
And of course you don’t need my permission to act like a sensible grown-up. LOL. What a long ass reply!!

JJ is a VERY GOOD actor!!! He was superb in both PTB and Dr Jin.
His role in PTB was particularly difficult to portray; smart, competitive, and kind-hearted at the same time, serious and playful at the same time.

The thing that I noted about Jaejoong’s portrayal of the tormented Kyung Tak in “Dr Jin” is that after a very short period of time, he quite visibly seemed to “lose himself” — in other words, lose his perception of how he was showing himself as the handsome young man Jaejoong. He simply let go of himself and became the character. I think this was a major break-through for him as an actor.
He had some excellent players to bounce ideas off of this time around, most notably Kim Eung Soo and Jin Yi Han. I think that once again, they took Jaejoong under their wing and helped him get better and as we know, Jaejoong is a very fast learner. So we saw a quantum leap in his acting chops in Dr Jin.
Oh, you haven’t even watched Jaejoong’s latest drama, yet you can quickly make such an affirmative statement. huh? I totally love Jae’s acting, but I don’t want to compare both boys because they’re excellent in their respective roles. Doesn’t matter whose skills are better, if they didn’t pick a suitable role, the outcome would still suck. Even an A class actor can’t guarantee he will succeed in every single movie/drama he is cast in.
Anyway, congrats Yoochun on once again being acknowledged as a good and full of potential actor.

ok my fav is YC but my comment is going to sound like anti because I don’t like the phrase.
He has that natural skill that become the character in SKKS he is Lee song Joon, in RTP he is Lee gak. He become the character, he make the audience feel what he feel with stable acting, he know what he is good at, he never over act or give painful acting. He improve further by time I believe he will do even better in future.
“acting-dols who act better than actors” what kind of actors do they refers here, if it refer same age good look actors then the answer may be yes. If that refer real skillful veteran actors the answer is no, YC way of approaching the character or drawing an act is different he may be there one day but he is not actor that can decipher 1000 words by a move an eye yet.
The actors has to move long way and idol come in take the leading role must be painful for veteran actors.

That faint full if with some actor, I can understand and the same time it is faint full for those idiot but have real acting talent too because that the one of reason they got a lot of critic from drama world , they have to work twice harder or more to show they can acting… Hard for both side.. I think it’s a very positive indication of their great fame just in general that people, writers, the media, etc WANT to talk about them, want to create these stories about them and that a lot of people want to read about them and comment about them. This is ALL amazingly good publicity for them! It keeps them in the public eye in SKorea. Many of these entertainment type articles just seem silly and arbitrary to me, but I’ll never underestimate how important they are for JYJ to be seen, written about and discussed as much as they are. Both Chunnie and Jae are very young actors who have a long way to go and much to learn. What they’ve each shown, every time out so far, is that they both have extraordinary natural ability and of course there’s that solid gold work ethic we keep coming back to; once again it serves them well in that they are very fast learners, they work as hard and as intensively as anyone on the set and they are inevitably respected by those they work with because they are talented, quick and they are NOT primadonnas. Far from it. Everyone tends to love them to death by the end of each of their projects. As mega-bankable stars to add to any production in the future, you don’t get much bigger or better than Yuchun and Jaejoong. This is why they will become successful as actors. They will keep getting roles and they will keep improving every time out.

I think KBS will never pro JYJ, YC in particular. It is almost a TV station for SM, YG, JYP & a few others. All but JYJ.
Even Junsu so hit around the world, very little coverage for him, not even a feature column .
And when two columns appeared in this site, was when Junsu famous overseas ( ie US Automatic praised Junsu, and China Chart , Junsu ranked # 1 , KBS didn’t want to irritate US / China market, instead of helping Junsu. For YC and Jae, totally ….invisible in their realm.

Also this article made it sound like SKKS made him into the good actor that he is. That’s not true. It’s Rooftop Prince. In SKKS he struggled a bit with his acting in the beginning, but he got better in the middle and stayed stable at the end.
Micky n jj is better than most of actor-idol.. Despite they can be considered new to this movie industry but the way they protrait the character has captured our hearts….the thing is i know pyc as an actor in SSKS and not a singer….i quite surprise when i know he is one of jyj’s member n i goggle their history on the establishment of jyj…now im addicted to jyj’s song….i just need to hear them everyday just to motivate me…..and of coz im a royal follower of jyj3 just to know abt the latest news of our jyj!!

Ok, all of us – don’t have to compare who is better than who . All JYJ members are all equally good in acting , but at different level and role given . I support Yoochun for his acting, but the caption better rephrase as “Acting-dols” Who Act as good as than Actors.
Korea acting field now have clearer “camping” : those who trained up in universities and those not. Better highlight Yoochun’s natural acting skill & charm , without making the trained veteran feel ashamed. More friendly promotion.
Getting a role and best script need many factors, especial the net working and commercial bargaining power . Recent Keyeast, JYP , SM ( and its subsidiary) , their interlocking co-operative relationship make it really challenging for YC.
They got the best offers for roles, then crossover all idols to win CF contracts ( Kim Soo Hyun + Miss A Suzy ), push & crown Kim Hyun Joong to be # no 1 best singer / actor. ( coming up in China )
SM make Siwon a big comeback with a good role at SBS Tv drama. While tide with Taiwan camp seizing many golden TV air time in China. Lower cost for less famous idols group but can speak mandarin fluently ( super junior – mexo-m , fx). Lower production cost , bad script, with Taiwan idols , but got the rank #1 viewing (drama name called ” When love walked in” )

I really hope that people will stop comparing jaejoong and yoochun when it’s come to acting~~ Both of them are great and at the same time have their own weaknesses. p.s= I do agree with some of the comments above. The title should be changed to ‘acting-dol who is as good as actors’. Yoochun is good and I admit that but he still need to work harder to be better than lots of current korean actors. Same goes to Jaejoong. They still have some flaws in their acting. Just because they won polls and awards, it doenst mean that they are better than lots of the actors out there who specially trained for acting.. I believe that over time they will become one of the respected actors out there. So lets wait patiently…

ah, i don’t think it as “overpraising”, it’s a fair praise for me, because as a rookie actor, yoochun just stands out. it never said that he’s much better at acting than other veteran actors, but as rookie actors, be it idols or not, he did well. so does eunji (and the rest of reply 1997 co-stars xD) and t.o.p. they’re no way near veteran actors or actresses, but as rookies, they stand out — even if they’re compared to other rookie actor/actress. sometimes we just took the title out of context (the article itself), while in some k-editorials i’ve read, mostly their praise seems to “over” in the title yet the article doesn’t seem too much of a praise.

Aish! fans should cool down and respect one another. Yoochun is a good actor and still has a lot of things to improve with and that also goes with JJ. Both of them have their own strong points and also had a certain magnetism or characteristic that differs them from one another and also to others. There is no point in comparing them because I’m sure both of them possess an advantage to one another.
And in relation to this article, Congratulations Yoochunie~ keep it up and always make us proud. Your success is our pride especially to your fellow members.
