Dear Readers,
We’ve decided to create an “Open Discussion Post” in order to stimulate debate, discussion and exchange of ideas among our readers.
Because in this place you can talk about different issues, it’s important to remind our readers that you must follow the rules in our blog (Read here).
More details:
- ODP will be posted every week starting from today at 12:00 PM EST Time Zone
- Since “Open Discussion Post” is created exclusively for debate, discussion and exchange of ideas, you must not spam here with daily pictures, polls, news, spazz, unless you use the news/picture for a discussion topic. But we recommend our readers to do that in GAPP.
- You can talk about different issues related to JYJ/Kpop/Kdrama/SM/AVEX and other themes here.
- If the comment creates fanwars between JYJ’s fans, it will be deleted by the Admins.
- Since we’re an english fansite, we recommend our readers leave their comments in english because it would be of great help in moderating the comments.
- Personal attacks are NOT allowed.
- No more discussions related to GAPP vs ODP.
- According to how things work here, we can increase the rules to maintain a healthy debate.
Thank you for your attention

There is much talk about what has transpired over the non-decision of the ‘final decision of the JYJ/SME lawsuit. Obviously, as fans, at best we can only sit by and watch. We don’t have any say in the legal outcome. Again, as frustrating as it is for us, it is ten times worse for the members of JYJ.
No matter what happens, we as fans can only do so much. We may not have any sway over the legal outcome, we do have options to offer support. One of the ways we can support JYJ in this matter is to voice our opinions on what we see transpiring with delay after delay. If the court system wishes to continue to drag this out, we can at least let the system and the public know that JYJ has a legion of fans out here who are willing to support them for as long as necessary. But at the same time question the fairness of what is occurring.
Several people have posted opinions and offered ways of expressing fan concerns. This is my contribution to the discussion. I’m looking for feedback. If there is enough interest to follow through, then please indicate that interest and let’s take it from there.
Thanks in advance for your consideration.
1) Establish goals (outcomes to be achieved), methods by which to do so.
2) Identify as many JYJ fan groups as possible (domestic and international)
3) Collect names of who is willing to work on the project
4) Decide on timelines for various stages
5) Identify contact targets for various outlets
6) Who will be responsible for setting up PayPal account and establishing account transparency.
7) Establish teams for the various phases and goals.
8) Ask permission to use JYJ3 site as a base. If none given, who will set up a site to use as a base.
9) Use of various SNS.
10) Report of all efforts engaged in to all groups who participated.
@BAF
I’m looking forward to an interesting week of discussions on this topic. Can’t wait to see how many dedicated JYJ3 people we have here who want to get to work!
Reporting for duty and ready to do whatever I can for JYJ. Just say when and where and I am there
I’m not sure I understand your post. I’ve been a bit absentee so I feel like I don’t have enough context. Is this a response to the court ruling, or lack thereof? Or is this about the CNN FP suggestion, which I must say, I strongly do not believe that is an appropriate avenue to pursue on JYJ’s behalf. They are investigating serious human rights issues like forced prostitution and human trafficking, JYJ’s issue would not even rank on their priority scale. That aside, could you fill me in on the nature of your proposed project?
My God drop the CNN FP issue already
go for CNN without the FP
WHAT IS WRONG WITH SOME FANS GOING IN CIRCLES AND DEBATING A POINT I DROPPED.
is that really an issue sp we clarified not the right out let . There is still CNN the normal news brodcast right. There is NBC BBC. are we going to talk this week about FP. give me a break i post links because one i am no leader and two while SK contact NBC and CNN about PSY horse dance Us JYJ and XIA fans who could also contact CNN are not doing so to let USA media shed light on JYJ and XIA’s case. Instead this fandom is going about lamenting and dwelling on FP. My GOD WHY CANT THIS FANDOM DIRECT INSTEAD OF POPULRISE A MISTAKE. CHOOSE A DIFFERENT VENUE THEN DONE AND OVER WITH THE ISSUE IS HIGHLIGHT ON JYJ AND XIA CASE NOT FP NOT PSY HORSE DANCE. STOP WITH THE IDEALISTIC SUPERIOR TALK I GOT IT ALREADY CAN WE SEND CNN LETTERS NOW? CHOOSING THE RIGHT VENUE A LEADER SHOULD GUIDE US TOWARDS INSTEAD OF GOING ON HOW WRONG CHOOSING THAT VENUE WE DONT NEED THREE PARAGRAPGHS ABOUT HOW WRONG CHOOSING THAT VENUE IS DIRECT FANS TOWARDS THE RIGHT VENUE INSTEAD. TALK TALK TALK I DONT EVEN WATCH THENEWS BUT I BET YOU SOUTH KOREA IS.
South Korea saw PSY horse dance issue on NBC they support PSY now ask MR.EGG how PSY is taking over the world cause he showed up on NBC . South Koreans CARE ABOUT USA MEDIA. thats how you effect the SK poblic opinion. Nbc and CNN busy about horse dance cause not many people talk about blacklist to them. What happened to CNN dont they go about critisizing unjust systems and opression here and there? Jyj and XIA not opressed? YEAH JYJ AND XIA Get on MNet Kbs MUSIC BANK ECT JUST LIKE PSY WHAT OPRESSION THEY ARE DOING FINE NO NED TO BOTHER CNN.
I am sorry about the caps and anger.
Please lets do something instead of get on eachothers feelings. I am sorry @ mkverse and anyone who got hurt from somw words or manner of speech in my posts. I dont want to argue i came because i want to help encourage fans not scare them. I dont know how to speak nicely but i really try to get my point across. SK music industry want to hide the JYJ and XIA block issue while they continue prohibit JYJ and XIA from music industry through gang blocking them from brodcast. Psy MV is brodcasted so it reached the USA . JYJ and XIA MVs are always blocked. To
South Korea USA is the world what they highlight what USA highlight matters to South Korea. USA now highlight Psy horse dance. I saw PSY on CNN and NBC. SNSD on some U.S. entertainment show, johanas brothers brought Wondergirls over. The SK ministry of culture could help JYJ big time but maybe now the SK ministry of culture is supporting PSY SNSD WONDERGIRLS companies because they are on NBC CNN how do we make the SK Ministry and SK Public opinion see how wrong JYJ’s and XIA’s situation where they know they can no longer ignore the issue or cast it away when USA media is on the side of SME JYP ect. Do you fans understand my point. We can send the ministry letters too but you want deep impact . Then we should try deep impact media. The kind of media that forced countries change their attitudes and system so CNN doesnt popularize negativity and criticisim about them to the world. This is what could move the SK ministry to act and SK public opinion to talk. If many fans contact CNN NBC BBC. Lets try America first . Its long . Three years and we fans never thought about USA media. Lets try this. What are we losing? Just an e-mail. It could be the simpilist thing to do but it could also be the biggest thing we do. Lets try it while we also try other methods. Sending CNN a letter does not mean dissmissing other methods. A leader should clarify a venue so we can send the letters to the right direction. Dont underestimate USA media effect Dont underestimate CNN NBC effect on SK powers. SME is not ultimate power .just last year the ministry of culture funded SME JYP and other companies and this year we saw the result. Dont be discouraged, be smart know who to effect and how. Maybe CNN or other USA media is how we effect those powers to overlook SME request to block JYJ and XIA. Dont make SME invinsible. Lets do what we can an e-mail is not impossible. Blah blah you got my point.
@X
Whoa buddy, slow down. As I stated in my previous comment, I’ve been out of the loop and haven’t caught up to everything that I’ve missed these last few days. I don’t know what happened that has you reacting so personally. As far as I know, I saw your suggestion a while ago about CNN FP and there were positive responses to it, after looking into it, I didn’t think it was something appropriate for me to do. Whatever happened afterwards that has you so upset, I am not aware of and I did not intend to stir up any past drama that has occurred. As for trying to get the attention of US media about this issue, well I’m not sure if you were around this fandom when blocking controversies came to light, but we did write, we wrote to anyone that we thought might have a sympathetic ear about this topic and I personally never received a single response. Now, I’m not saying that taking up the issue again isn’t a valid point. This has clearly dragged on in excess and the element of time may contribute to someone in the US media being interested in this story. But speaking to me as if I’m just some troll out to get you is really not going to motivate me to taking anything you say seriously. Everyone’s opinion is welcome here and that will always lead to disagreement and discourse, but we try our best to keep it respectful and intellectual.
@X
So your second comment did not populate until I posted my response to you. I understand that the heat of the moment and your passion to this topic may have influenced your words. But I hope you know that the fandom has tried to get the US media interested in this story and so far no one has taken the bait. What we may have lacked before was organization and cohesion in the effort so a change of tactic may be more effective.
@X
TL; DR
Hey there, calm down. Do you need to take a chill pill or an anger management class? I haven’t been in ODP often for the past week so I may not quite keep up with some stuff, but why do you have to sound so defensive and pissed off all the time? In the last ODP, you provided us some contacts and some ideas on how to address our concerns regarding JYJ’s situation, etc, which may be useful, but you started your post as if someone had been attacking you. I haven’t seen anyone even remotely being rude to you but you act like you’d explode any time. Here @mkverse didn’t criticize you at all. Can we please talk like mature adults without abusing caps-lock and randomly accusing this fandom? Thanks.
@angei i already apologized to her why you butt in? Are you trying to add fire to the pan you when i try retract my mistake. Do you want to drag this issue so we fight.
i said before take use of the things you find useful in my post but here you come and otheres making paragrapghs to me about my choice in venue highlighting how wrong it is to choose that . a simple responce is enough i have feelings too i dont need to be cornered and feel ashamed causevi thought i found something helpful . Yes i feel bitter and offended too who uses gentle tone with me no you make me and other fans feel wrong by grouping lining one by one talking about the same point i got already. I dont know am i celeberty to have many replies that put me down. I hate making mistakes so i’m very sensative and scared about talking to anyone. Are we turning this post about me now and my behavior.
you want to talk about ME? or XIA and JYJ opression.
Listen. This year especially Junsu kept saying to the press during his tour ” because we/am not allowed to brodcast i worried about the results of Tarantallegra MV···· ” he tries to get press shed light on the block he and JYJ suffer from. JUNSU didnt give up trying to get medias attention on their case. Are fans giving up on the media? Junsu is the only one who tells press ” not allowed to appear on Brodcast” how many times he said that to media. come on please lets try with media again too. I dontthink we tried CNN not all overseas brodcast are of same level and effectiveness on SK. Lets not try fix me this week lets highlight how to highlight the boys situation. Maybe this e-mail to CNN could help shed universal light on JYJ and XIA’s case that SK minictry culture and public opinion cant run away from and ignore it any longer cause the issue got popularized too much. Why Junsu keeps telling press ” because we are not allowed ····” during his tour. How can a problem be solved if a problem is not debated and how can it be debated if its not mentioned and how is mentioned if not talked about.
Did the fans really talked to CNN last year ? The year before? Junsu also tried two years ago and he tried again during his tour to slip in his and JYJ current unjust situation. Maybe he is like me hoping the press helps them. Maybe Junsu and me are plain dumb dumbs to try get press learn ” not allowed to brodcast music on TV ” read between the lineshe could just say he had worries about the MV success but he keeps sliping in that issue purposely.
@X
I simply ask you to calm down. If you take it as I’m picking a fight with you or offend you, then it’s up to you. One thing about the Internet is that one shouldn’t expect everyone else to agree with everything he/she said. When you choose to post in a “discussion” section, you should have prepared to take different opinions. If you’re bitter toward even the smallest thing, the discussion will go no where. Don’t talk as if I knew nothing about the difficulties JYJ have faced. I didn’t say what you’ve suggested is useless, here we welcome any ideas or proposals that may trigger awareness of the unfair situation JYJ are in. Perhaps I don’t prefer the tone you use in your comments, and it’s just me. That’s all.
okay angei am sorry lets drop it.
@X
I get your frustration. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I don’t think anyone is really trying to prolong the discussion. MKVerse hasn’t been here for a while so was just asking for a bit of clarification.
I have a question for you: does NBC actually have a broadcast outlet in SK, I mean a Korean speaking broadcast? or are you suggesting we contact NBC (or MSNBC) here in the States?
@Lili
I think X is talking about Psy having appeared on NBC’s the Today morning show.
@BAF
“I think X is talking about Psy having appeared on NBC’s the Today morning show.”
Yes, I got that. I was just wondering if NBC or MSNBC had any sort of a Korean outlet.
@X
May I speak to you….here is my email AFriendofJYJ@yahoo.com.
@Lili
Checking out the NBC website, there is no indication of any international station outlets. They may have news offices, but no broadcast set up. Even if they do have news offices, there don’t seem to be any listing of them. The news offices probably arrange for satellite feeds from the localities in which they are found. There is a contact us feature if anyone is interested in going further.
@BAF
“Checking out the NBC website, there is no indication of any international station outlets. They may have news offices, but no broadcast set up. ”
Wow, thanks for doing that legwork. OK, understood. I’ve been all over Facebook today posting this and that about Our Lads.
Some innocuous, some so inflammatory I frankly I expect my posts will be pulled off any minute. lol
Here’s how I feel: if each one of us does maybe 2 or 3 things a day like this, writing very short, very to-the-point emails, tweets and posts, the impact over a relatively short period of time will be huge. I’ve done CNN and the K-Ministry of Culture twice (different posts each time.) I highly recommend other JYJ3ers to write to them, btw. I agree with ‘X’ that they seem to be a group that might exert influence and create change.
Tomorrow, I’ll research NBC/MSNBC and try to find a link for submissions for story ideas. In the meantime, I guess what I’ll need is a concise synopsis of the JYJ Story. Anyone here care to be involved in writing that with me?
Since I am in L. A. and part of local media, (I write for a newspaper) I will try to gather names and addresses of people in news outlets for JYJ fans to send emails to within the next week. Hopefully, there will be an outpouring of emails on this matter. You know, president Barack Obama visited South Korea in March and commented on the power of the Hallyu wave. Maybe letters could be sent to him, although he is in the middle of a re-election campaign. Come on, female fans, you are some of the brightest in the world (I know, since I read your posts). Let’s put our thinking caps on and shed light on the injustice this group is facing. Stay strong, JYJ, we are behind you all over the world. By the way, there is CNN Japan–all you JJ and Chunnie fans out there could bombard CNN Japan with emails. Let’s get it done, girls! Fighting!!
@Shirley USA
“Since I am in L. A. and part of local media, (I write for a newspaper) I will try to gather names and addresses of people in news outlets for JYJ fans to send emails to within the next week. ”
THANK YOU, Shirley. I would like to take you up on your very generous offer of help and support for details of news venues here in the US. (I live in the L.A. area too — Sherman Oaks.) If you can supply the addresses, I will send the copy detailing the plight of JYJ. I think if we all put our heads together, we can do this.
xxoo
I am going to try to add a bit more clarity to my previous post. Please bear with me; I am dealing with a severe sinus condition, so I may not be as clear as I would like to be.
To me the issue at hand is to raise awareness of how unfair the judicial system is being to JYJ by continually allowing SM to play the system. The court has already declared the contract unfair, and now it is time for compensation.
Trying to make both sides come to an agreement instead of doing what the court should do, DECIDE, is a cop-out. It is the court’s responsibility to dispense justice.
All the fans worldwide want is justice for the members of JYJ. I am a firm believer that the court of public opinion can be a strong ally. However, since this case has been going on for three years now, interest and attention are probably not at their highest right now.
I am proposing we utilize the fandom to mobilize public opinion and highlight how “justice delayed is justice denied”. There have been some very creative expressions of support for the guys – subway ads, bus ads, in your face publications, etc., that show a great deal of talent to get a message across.
This fandom is also capable of gathering sizeable amounts of funds to purchase very nice, expensive gifts for the guys. Well, let us put some of that fundraising to an even better use. Let us use it to hit the SK media in all its forms to put the message out. JYJ deserves to have a fair and just conclusion to their quest for freedom AND the right to work on an even playing field like all their peers. They are not asking for special treatment here, they are seeking the right to be treated equally.
The power of numbers is what I would like us to shoot for. Let us get as many of the JYJ fan sites to work with us as possible. Domestic and international fans should work together. The guys have a large enough fan base to generate some serious ‘noise’ if we plan, coordinate, and execute well.
Let us use our frustration level to help move this decision making process along. Show how much support the guys have. Show how this looks to the rest of the world. Emphasize how much good will JYJ have generated around the globe. Get SK to understand they could not have better representatives to spread her culture to the world.
Define what we want to achieve – goals, what methods will work well to achieve those goals, and do something besides moan and groan about the latest delay in a final decision. Let us not squander our size and voice. Let us use the talents we possess, the energy, and the love we have for the members of JYJ to show our support.
Let us show those who are so eager to deny JYJ the justice they deserve, that this fan base is strong enough to be there for the long haul. Denying JYJ justice is not going to achieve THEIR goal of drying up JYJ’s support, therefore, their careers.
We have some creative minds in this fandom; lets’ put them to good use!
I agree it’s time for action. Here I my suggestions.
1. Press release in different languages to target different markets.
2. A fundraiser to raise money for full page ads in National Newspapers.
3. An organized fan effort to reach out to Ryan Seacrest, Ellen, Anderson Cooper etc.Three new talk shows just launched in America, they might be more open to the idea than some of the established names.
4. A radio blitz on some of the biggest stations (radio mentions are significantly cheaper than TV spots).
5. Find people with media and PR experience, who will be the face and voice of the Fan Union, if we need someone to speak to the media and answer questions about JYJ.
6. A liaison between fans in Korea and International fans and possibly between CJeS and fans.
As you can see, such a large scale effort requires proper planning, discussion and effort.
just my 2 cents
@lisan
Hi! I really like all of your ideas. And I really want fans of the guys to realize that they have enough pricey designer EVERYTHINGS to last a lifetime at this point, but what they REALLY NEED and can use is, as you said above, exposure in the national press, radio, etc. about this shocking situation.
My email address is lilibaiyu@aol.com Why not email me with yours and we’ll throw around some ideas. (And that goes for anyone else who’d like to get involved and help.)
@ butterflies are free 2
as response to you point number 7
i think and strongly suggest we form groups. I had three or four groups in mind so far.
A prees group
A non-press group e.g petition.
A letters direction group ‘not editing fans letters just point inclusion’
and a translation group. ‘ i think this group can help in translating projects like petition trans if we want send a petition to non english fansites for signature. ‘
hope you agree. This way you can caregatorize @ lisan and @ BAF2 points under proper group. I think we should form quickly then decide tasks then finally officially fill out the fandom about the project to participate in once we finished setting up. I think the letter direction group should form first.
Thank you.
I’m here, ready & reporting for duty!
Yes Sapphire it is time for action.
I would like to help, just need to know how I can. Please keep me posted.
Let us all gather our strengths for JYJ.
Thank you.
Mr. Jeje will come to jakarta,
Please CJes confirm this matter,
And hope some fans respect this fanmeet,
Remember it is jaejoong fanmeet not ….
so is there any chance that yoochun is taking missing you as he hasn’t rejected it

but there will alwayz be hope..
a rainbow after d rain..a beautiful rainbow…
keep beleiving
keep thrusting
keep loving
our JYJ and each and everyone of us here in this challenging but amazing loving fandom…
all worth it <3
Maybe the fandom should regroup.What I mean by that is that instead of contacting the media to shine light on their mistreatment in the SK entertainment, we should try to get them to focus on them as artist. Use the door that PSY has slightly but nevertheless opened and bring JYJ through it. Once JYJ are on the radar their story will be exposed. Its such an important part of their career, that you can’t ignore it. Besides, they haven’t gone out of their way to avoid the topic if its brought up in an interview. My point is that while people are still intrigued/amused with kpop we should exploit it. We should try to emphasis the good point about the guys. The media will have no problem pointing out the negatives. They feed of of that stuff. So while many of you want or are going to contact your media stations, maybe speaking with the entertaiment section would get you farther.
I forgot who said this but someone ask about JYJ to a korean celebrity way back, think it was a conversation on twitter, and the response was something along the lines that they(the fan) has no idea how far up the corruption goes. The lawsuit has really made it clear how far these companies and unfortunately government will go to maintain the status quo. But sadly there isn’t much we as i-fan can do to change what goes on in another country or their legal system. The people of that country are the ones with tha kind of power. However, we can get people interested in JYJ’s music. Everthing else will get exposed in time. I’d rather have their muscial story be the on the people get exposed to first, than their struggle.
@Alsi
” But sadly there isn’t much we as i-fan can do to change what goes on in another country or their legal system. The people of that country are the ones with tha kind of power. However, we can get people interested in JYJ’s music. Everthing else will get exposed in time. I’d rather have their muscial story be the on the people get exposed to first, than their struggle.”
I see what you’re saying but I think we can still make it a 2 pronged strategy of yes, the music, of course that is important but also the social injustice, the completely illegal hamstringing of 3 great SK artists; both really must continue to be hammered at. That part of their story certainly mattered the most to me although before that I did like their music. But let’s assume that I’m not the only one who doesn’t like to see artists being illegally blacklisted in a country that is simultaneously trying to promote itself as a cutting edge modern democratic society that values the rule of law.
I would also really like to stress Facebook as a huge source for pages upon pages of Korean businesses and media organizations that are just constantly littered with SM artists, the copy also obviously provided by SM. (just search the word ‘Korea’ and see what I mean.) Since so many of them are in English, this is an obvious place for short statements of protest against what is happening in SK.
I’d like to contact some of the news outlets and put my two cents worth in. We need to start somewhere; if we as Ifans don’t continue to voice our opinions on this matter, then it will be just another non-issue to those who are not fans of JYJ. Buying JYJ members expensive gifts: $$$; Speaking out on their behalf: Priceless!
@Barbara
This is what butterfliesarefree and I have been talking about a bit off-list. There are extraordinary amounts of money being spent on pricey designer goods given as presents to the members that could much, much better be spent on advertising, TV spots, etc etc etc. getting out our message that what is happening in SK right now, the blocking and blacklisting is illegal and WRONG and we want an end to it! So anything you can do to post a protest anywhere will really help. And if you could do one or two a day, just like taking your vitamins, that would be even better.
@X
three points:
1. what should i write in the letter? give me points, give me information for backing it up, or better, give me a template so i can just change my name lol. mind ya, i’m not that fluent in English unlike you all. a letter written by me would probably disgrace the whole fandom, haha.
2. where should i send it to? clickable link please. it’s like i ask you to post in ‘kaskus’ or ‘detik’, do you even know what is that? i’m also not familiar with NBC or whatever is that, even though i’ve heard about them. US not equal with world, please. unless this is a project for US fans, which you can’t complain if not much interested since many JYJ fans here are from Asia.
3. what do we want to get from this? you’ve put example of PSY, so i think it’s about making them popular? or is it about the justice in SK? or both??? and by which basis do you think them being featured in US media means they’re instantly popular? i know you’ve mentioned about SNSD or WG above, but if JYJ come to US market and become laughing stock like them, i’d rather be indifferent. korean care about US market? haha, yeah, sure. other than genuinely without even trying PSY, korean know how WG and SNSD viewed in US market. media, is another thing. korean medias are heavily controlled by companies. they’re boasting about WG? sure, they got paid by JYP. surprise, surprise.
if it’s something like polling or signing petition or even survey, fans will come. no need leader or whatsoever, you just need to spread the word via twitter. ask JYJ3 and other fansite (OT5 too, don’t be close-minded, most JYJ i-fans are still OT5 and if they want to support JYJ like us, who are us to restrain them?) to spread the word, usually it’s as easy as that. just put an easy to follow instruction etc, and people will gather. honestly, people backed off and don’t follow your ideas because: 1) we don’t understand, 2) you don’t explain in a way we can understand, 3) why do you have to sound soooo frustrated, have we done something wrong to you? personally, i’m a bit puzzled about whatever you tried to ask. it’s not like people never tried about this way back then, what’s so urgent and different know? i still don’t understand.
sorry, i’ve read your ideas since day one, but i can’t comment anything since i still don’t get the idea (partly because letter in English took too much effort for me, yep, that much). don’t yell at me, please. kke.
About point 3.
Yes i have a point
its not Psy personally. It the Sk music industry smililing and proud and maybe even gain more love from the SK minictry of Culture sports and tourism.
First is USA now XIA JYJ case should be popularized so the Music industry bullies dont smile or hide or gain favor of the SK Minictry of Culture sports and tourisim.
its a kind of counter attack. Also i am betting that the right type of American media can effect the right type of force in SK to help change attitude towards the ban.
There is a force that can help JYJ and XIA get brodcast again. We have to get this power’s attention on the boys case. But how we effect them. I dont know exactly how but i believe we need get their attention through USA media something South Koreans cant miss. Wich i bet is CNN NBC.
i want letters to contain something important. This i need to talk with some girls about. Once we think it through we should set it out for fans to see. Then we ask many fans to start sending the letters. So right now i want some girls to form inside groups so we can discuss what to do then when we agree we can tell other fans what to do. I am trying to convince my idea because i think the groups should remain for future activity. Just my point of view but i think the fandom will be stronger like this and more effective if we organize and direct fans .for example you said you want points for you to write about right? I can give you my points but i dont think that is perfect. I want offecial points that a group sets after discussion and deciding on them. So when fans come they read the points ready and that helps them write their letter. Another group will tell to who to send it to. This is still my vesion i hope i can convince the fandom to organize more.
We might need 3 groups to direct the said groups projects.
one group in charge of non-press project “inspired by butterfliesarefree2 first post” lets say for e.g a petition it will go here.
another group in charge of press project e.g NBC just deals with press.
Third we need letter directors . A group who sets points for the general fans letters (not edit their letters.) This could help fans avoid bashing vocabulary and unwanted highlight focus by looking at the set points established. e.g 1- do not bash 2- talk about 3- Dont say SK say SK Music industry is blocking . . ect just example to avoid chasing out potential helpers without shadowing facts on injustice.
So in other words this section will figure out the points a letter should contain.
The letter directing group should also be in charge of writing a petition if the non-press group decided a petition project since a petition is just one letter.
Its not scary talk about points to write about – help writing a petition. Just two jobs.
its up to you and all of you to join the group you see you have zeal in and potential. Work things
together to better shape your group.
@noiha is right about DBSK5 supporters. Listen if we need numbers we need to suck it up and adapt with yunjaers, yoosuers, bises ect. There are projects that everyone would definitely pinch in. They want to see who is banned, on TV again too. We need not lower our numbers and isolate ourselves because of personal taste or misunderstandings or ect whatever.
Maybe we need translators too. Not something big scale. For example if for peteition sign. Some non native english speaking fan can talk to her class ‘even if not fans’ in her naitive language to sign the petition. Maybe in twitter or fansite etc. Of course fansites would want to have translation of the paper.
I am sorry i am not trying to lead but we have no leader yet so i already started without one.
Press is fast term goal . Many letters.
petition is long term goal . One letter.
Lets go with the press first.
lets set rules for writing first since @ shirly is busy getting us contacts. After that we can start sending out our letters to who ever the press group decides or advises.
So for now lets figure out what our letters should be like.
@noiha is asking about points . She isnt the only one, most fans need direction. The Group in Charge of letter Direction This is where you come in. @noiha wait untill they gather and finish setting the points. Girls and guys if your around, right now the press and letter directing group is needed there are fans who already decided to write so lets help them. Lets form.
@ noiha if some fans form the groups, you first question should be towards the press group.
you second question towards the letter direction group. And if you ask about petition it should be a question directed at the non-press group i think @butterfliesarefree2 should give it a better name though.
Fandom please respond we need to form the groups starting with the letter directing group.
if you joining this group wondering how to start. We can have model letter to analyze. We can say this point is key but not highlighted as main focuse of the letter. This point is anger expression not point making. This needs not be adressed or we should define not generalize . That way we can decide the main points then write them down as direction points ready for offecial view as followes:
You letter should contain the following:
1-
2-
3-
Your letter should not contain:

set up points
reveal the points for fans use offecially.

@Shirley USA
Shirley! You’re a dream come true!! Big, BIG props for this wonderful list of possible contacts! Thank you so much.
I’ll be in touch.
@lilibayu;
You’re welcome!! I just HATE injustice anywhere! Fighting!!
@ShirleyUSA
Thank you so much for getting all those names & addresses together. I’ll start writing emails
Apparently LA has the biggest population of Koreans in America, so can anyone get us any names & addresses for Korean newspapers & magazines that are based in LA/America? English language or Korean. I think they will be really good ones to target as they will already have that interest in & connection to S Korea, & will probably be more interested in the blocking than most Western media. If they are Korean language though, we’ll have to get someone to translate any letters/emails we send.
I really like the idea of donating money for advertising in S Korea too. If we can get more of the S Korean public aware of & talking about JYJ & the blocking, how unfair it is, & how illegal it SHOULD be, than hopefully we can get more S Koreans pushing for change within the country itself.
Sapphire. Hmmmm.
Yes . I like the idea of donation in SK For the purpose of getting them aware. But i see that is an idea that is need of discussion.
Good thinking.
But it needs to be planned out well.
For now lets focus on USA media mainly the press news agencies as a first step.
But lets do collect South Korean Media outlets.

i just came across this: SM C&C Takes Over AM Entertainment – Home to Jang Dong Gun, Kim Ha Neul and Others..read more at http://enewsworld.mnet.com/enews/contents.asp?idx=15384
JYJ really need to break into the US if they want to continue to have a successful career in the entertainment and music business
first SM goes and takes hold of some of Korea’s most influential TV Hosts and now they are grabbing hold of one of the biggest acting agencies in korea, and home to Korea’s A-list actors and actresses.
Seems like Lee Soo Man won’t back down until he achieves his dream of turning Asia into the new centre of the music and motion picture world. SM has already formed its alliances with major music and film companies in Japan and China. if this keeps going then in 20 or 30 years the whole of TV, Music, and Film industry in East Asia will be under the control of SM.
monopoly sure is scary..
@Princesses United
Not to worry. Talent always trumps underworld machinations. Where JYJ is concerned, none of us need ever worry.
They are golden, they are gifted.
They will always have followers, they will always find success in what they choose to do. Don’t under estimate the power of their fans. The fans have a power that will always keep JYJ in the spotlight. Because the entertainment business, in the final analysis, is run on what people want to see and know about. Pure and simple. As long as we clamor for JYJ, they will continue to be a force.
ack, drama and movies too now? and han jimin and hyunbin too? ouch.
cj e&m won’t just doing nothing at this though…
ack, dramas and movies too now? and han jimin and hyunbin too? ouch.
i think SM now finally realized they can’t just keep up with their music and idols, esp since the rage over dokdo island hasn’t died down. they always fail to touch the larger bucks that is movies and dramas, and now they want to have it too. greedy, but that’s the nature of most companies.
cj e&m won’t just doing nothing at this though… i wonder how much longer they can keep up with sm if this company constantly trying to eat up their territory. of course, it’s less something to do with jyj (heck, jyj have thousand of possibilities outside SK — if they’re banned from dramas too, they can always try other market like China), but it’s still interesting to watch the sm monopolizing progress. heh.
anyway, don’t they realize the more they try to branch out with formulaic stuffs with their name written all over it, the more people will sick and turn into something new? that explains why a lot of cable dramas have bigger popularity than those dramas aired in terrestial tvs recently, and why rookies like ailee and busker busker did much better than exo, because it’s a breath of fresh air. monopoly for me is just a big no, because it’ll make the industry saturated, people will look into something else years later. at least make a more subtle move, SM.
@noiha
Yes, the monopoly thing can be a double edged sword. The major problem with the way SM branches out, they don’t necessarily do it well. Bigger is not always better. As long as they continue to use the same models for everything they do, they will simply be a company with a lot of tenacles, but none of them touching anything. With all this investment, what kind of returns are they expecting?
Considering the relationship with cj e&m was supposedly improved, seems as if they are making noises that scream encroachment. Ha! Will be interesting to see how this plays out.
i agree but just to point out, Busker Busker and Ailee’s sales have been nowhere near EXO’s. Busker Busker sold 114,760 albums while EXO sold over 150,000 in total despite the fact that EXO’s album was only a Mini album and not a full album like Busker Busker. Ailee sold less than a 100,000.
out of all the groups that debuted this year, EXO has definitely the biggest fanbase. their teasers before their debut alone hit over million views on youtube, while Busker and Ailee struggle to get in the million views for anything that is not their mv. honestly i think EXO’s huge popularity is a testimony that people are becoming more and more obsessed with SM.
pple started liking and supporting EXO even before they debuted or saw them perform just because they came from SM.
so many young teenagers to support these idols are saying that although they hate SM, they find SM’s idols to be the best at everything.
if u look at SM’s artists u will see that their sales have mostly been increasing in the past few years and its not showing any signs of weakening.
i find this very worry though! its important to have competition, and although there are many good new idols and singers in the scene, they are still not achieving the type of success that put them ahead of SM singers.
Psy is probably the only one with a chance right now to surpass SM singers but i dont think Psy’s success will continue for long.
they sold much much better digitally. and they’re more popular within the mass. busker busker already have their own cf, ailee hits is way more popular in karaoke. there’re much more dimensions in a success more than mere physical album sales. and honestly, it’s really funny for people to include youtube view counts as achievements when it’s already obvious it’s the easiest to manipulate. i thought most kpop fans have realized it.
It’s a known fact that exo is more famous than Ailee and busker busker. However, Ailee and busker busker are more recognized as artists than exo who are thought as idols. Although exo has a larger fan base, the older netizens care more about the quality of music. Busker busker and Ailee are taken more seriously than exo. I believe that Ailee has been slowly gaining popularity in the states due to her voice and music. I’m personally a fan of Ailee n she has been on numerous programs like immortal song 2 where she’s gaining attention as a great singer. Some of her videos on YouTube of her singing are catching quite some attention as she is different compared with idols nowadays. I believe Ailee can make it big in the US. heres a video of her singing halo by beyonce which garnered more than a million viewers attention.
@Princesses United

With SM’s current business model which includes lying and about every SINGLE aspect of their acts’ sales figures, buy-backs which seemingly pump up sales but of course are not really sales at all, re-framing (another form of lying) unfavorable outcomes to glorify themselves, artificially raising Youtube hits, and on and on and on – when everything they claim is a lie to promote themselves, their power and their ego (and yes, their artists too, but when you spend as much money as you make manipulating events behind the scenes, then you have to begin to realize that Massive Egos are running the show) how can we ever begin to take anything they say seriously in terms of units sold, chart positions, etc? Their company motto should be “If It Makes Us Look Good – Just Lie.” Nobody gets to look at an accounting in that company. Never the artists of course – that was one of the sticking points that drove JYJ away – they were supposed to just take LSM’s word for it that they were owed Zero dollars because they failed to sell 500,000 albums. I’m not sure that the court ever even got access to the company’s accounting statements. Imagine that! No wonder they lost the case.
it sad really! sm becomes more powerful each day! i’m afraid they will conquered movie and musical industry someday… then i dont know how my boys will doing promotion~ even the court not helping either, they are just coward to end the battle and declare jyj win!
but i believe in this world the people who have pure heart will always win the contest whatever happened in the end the one who right will win the battle! so i m not afraid because i know our boys are right and i will continue walk in this darkness with them : )
l
ALWAYS KEEP THE FAITH
don’t worry dear……everything gonna be okay……..
like @BAF said, ‘Bigger is not always better’. .
also always remember :don’t judge the book from the cover, yes…..they are look so big in outside but how about the inside ? are they fair enough to each idols that they have ? every step and work that their idols take always get controlled and chosen by them, so i am not surprise if there are many idols who gonna be rebel like our boys (if they are have a talents and brave enough to that ) in the future. yes…they are look more powerful than before but do u think it’s gonna stand for a long time ? i don’t think so…..like i said before that God started to open every door that can give those people a happiness like a power, money, etc to the fullest degree but……they are doesn’t know that their ruination also became really near. It sound ridiculous and impossible right now but let’s wait and see what’s gonna be happen to them in the near future. Always keep the faith and stay strong guys…..
@miaw
IF there are men and women of real and lasting talent and abilities at SM, they will rebel. That’s an absolute. No real artist, no person of genuine talent and ability (like JYJ, like Hwanhee, like Brian Joo, etc.) can possibly stay in that prison where no matter what they do, no matter how hard they work, no matter how much money they generate for the company and how successful they become, they get next to NOTHING. So let’s not worry. Let’s keep a positive outlook.
@lili
u right sis……absolutely no one gonna stand for a long time on those cage….people like our boys, brian Joo,etc who have a many talents and capacity can’t be banded with a horrible system that SM used..The prison like SM maybe can used for people who still not found or not confident yet with their ability but never can be for people who have genuine talent and ability such our boys, brian Joo,etc They are people who love a freedom to choose and take any opportunity which can give them more experiences…….No matter how much money that the company offered to them, if it’s mean to banded their talent to the deep darkness, they are gonna refused it….. More strict the contract or rule that the company used then more rebel they are (people like our boys) could be They have a strong will and i am sure they can changes every critical condition to be their opportunities to grow more. I never doubt about that .That’s why people like our boys really suit with a company who work with the artist such C-JES than work for a company such SM or Johny Ent.
@Princesses United
I like to look at it this way – the more SM tries to monopolize everything in it’s sights, the more people will be affected by their dodgy dealings & will be exploited & abused by them, the more they will leave SM in droves when they can. Kind of like the bigger SM gets, the harder they’ll fall. All of S Korea’s entertainment industry might be corrupt, but sooner or later the artists themselves will rebel, esp with JYJ as such shining examples of what can be done if you have the talent & faith in yourself to make that leap. A lot of JYJ fans may be frustrated with CJes, but I foresee them getting bigger & bigger over time as more idols & actors decide that they want what JYJ has got – freedom, respect from their management company/agency, a fair work contract free of abuse, exploitation & forced prostitution, & the artists actually getting paid the money they earn. I know a lot of fans won’t agree, but I think we should support CJes as much as we can, because they seem to be one of the few, if not the only, company in S Korea that actually gives idols, actors, etc a fair deal, & respects their human rights.
Dont worry
AUTOMATIC Uncommitted giveaway!! please support this
guyssss help me here…
i read in an artcle that sm merged with one company that houses top korean actors/actress like jang dong gun…
im sooooo worrrried and wana cry becoz it seems like sm is slowly creeping the drama department….we all know how mch drama help jyj …if sm is gaining control in drama departmnt…it might be a big blow to our beloved JYJ….they will surely
impose their rules that if they will cast jyj …they will not have their talent actors/actorsactress under them….
i dont know what to do..i feel so helplesssss.
my world just turn upside down
im dying
plsssss.i need some enlightmnt
read that article, too.
let’s just hope it will never happen or all hell will break loose…
im crying for real…my eyes
ouch
let’s just keep calm for a while… its a mere merger… it’s not as if they own the entire drama land… so cheer up sweetie we still have them and i bet they still have us to support them…

but still dont know what to feel:-(
soooo many wrong spelling…coz of crying
as much as poweful SM, still they are not GOD..
keep praying for them and just hang on, JYJ need their fans to stay with them no matter what happen, just like JYJ who never give up we should never give up to, three years JYJ and JYJ fans still going strong and i hope in time like this individual fans also join this us to protect them…
(wow never know i can be like this, i dont even care with them before the lawsuit lol but this lawsuit make me be their fans ^^)
@jaedara748
*hugs* Try not to stress too much. SM’s financial dealings seem to be one big ponzi scheme, & ponzi schemes always collapse sooner or later. & JYJ’s market isn’t limited to S Korea or what Avex can block them from in Japan. Look at the huge success of Chunnie’s Rooftop Prince in China, their successes in S America & Europe. Even if the worst does happen, I really believe JYJ’s talent & perseverance, plus their sheer niceness, will always bring opportunities to their doors. JYJ are super multi-talented, super bankable stars, & SM can’t change that! Taking their careers outside of S Korea & Japan could be the best thing for JYJ.
your absolutely right..
thankssss:-)
Dont worry
@Sapphire sis….honestly I’m worry too TT … but i know notthing can do much… just will pull support whatever if i can ..
@anva1
*huggles you tight* JYJ prove time & time again how resilient & resourceful they are, not to mention the passion they have for singing, acting & performing. TV is one thing, but SM doesn’t control the box office in S Korea, & Jaejoong is already doing film, while Chunnie’s said it’s something he wants to do too. They’re smart guys & the more they perfect their talents & skills, not just as singers, either individually or as JYJ, the more doors they open for themselves, & the less their careers & futures depend on their success or visibility as JYJ, or on us fans. Ultimately, if the worst does happen & JYJ are completely blocked in every area in S Korea & can’t sing or act anywhere there, I think they’ll just pack up & move elsewhere & keep doing what they love to do. I really hope it doesn’t come to that, for them & their families sake, & I worry about how stressful, frustrating & exhausting it must be for Jaejoong, Chunnie, Junsu, & for CJes staff, to deal with the blocking every single freaking day. But when all is said & done, I really believe that as long as they love what they are doing, they’ll will never give up or stop fighting to keep doing it. So everyone please try & stop worrying & have faith that Jaejoong, Chunnie & Junsu know far better than us what they’re up against, & have undoubtedly had many discussions about what SM is capable of, what could happen in the future, & how they can counteract it. These are the guys who walked out of SM with a plan. It only makes sense, given the constant silent battle they are in with SM, for them to have numerous contingency plans to counteract whatever SM throws at them. & we all know how Jaejoong esp loves to micro-manage!
Anva dont worry.
@anva!
What my little chickadee said.
@Sapphire
You nailed it!!
@Sapphire

Hugs to you too, dear Sapphire. I think you are exactly right that JYJ know well what they are up against and that this may be a long fight. But far from folding their tents and disappearing they are alive, vibrant, busy and successfully productive, just like we always knew they would be. These are very very talented, very smart young men and they have learned well how to think outside the box. In my estimation, SM is just barely managing to keep up with all of their latest plans and accomplishments. We’ve seen now, after going on three years of industry-wide blacklisting by SM that they are doing fine. Of course, we all want this nightmare for them to end tomorrow. But if it doesn’t, I feel confident that the members will still succeed, do great things and show S. Korea what real talent can accomplish, even in the face of a Goliath of evil.
@barelystable623
thankssss….
soooo many emotions
yeeeesssss.thanks…
me tooo im just a new fan..just this year that i knew about them.becoz of some couple shipping..i got curious.then boooom i got infected by the JYJ greatness virus…
i lost sooo many times watching./seeing them before sooo active before..but im making sure.i promise to give them all the love.sup.port.prayers.at my best effort….till forever <3
@Lyna
Seeing that this time’s ODP seems to be filled with discussions on helping JYJ’s situation get across to the world, I just want to introduce this singer which have a special place in my heart other than JYJ. It’s Ailee, a Korean born in America who debuted early this year in march. She’s the best rookie so far I’ve seen except Spica. I just hope that she’ll be able to be as famous as JYJ becuz she clearly has the talent and is different from the idols these days. Here’s a few English covers she’d sung.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_05i3wS6N-k
Although this song is not in English, I love this performance the most!
Sorry, the second video didn’t work.

Allegedly the big hallyu wave mammoth company has a “paper company” http://dedicatee.wordpress.com/2012/09/21/news-sm-entertainments-suspicious-affiliation-management/
Interesting article.
i am not surprise at all if that company have this kind way……… those company truly have many dark way to get more money and of course also with dark companion too……it’s really interesting to see what’s gonna happen next….
i hope a brave young prosecutor can dig into this…. /toomuchwatchingdramas ><
As my esteemed VE Sister is want to say…if it walks like a duck, if it quacks like a duck, if it swims like a duck, if it SMELLS like a duck…..
Oh my, oh my. The letters A Entertainment along with the M come together like AMENT in that consortium called UAM. I went looking for that company when that deal was first announced and couldn’t find a thing on the internet regarding a company like that in Korea. There were some other companies internationally that used that name, but nothing showed up. Well now. Not that I couldn’t have missed something, but it now makes me wonder. Hmmmmm.
@BAF
Right on, Sis. This thing stinks on ice. Who knows — maybe it’s the first tiny crack in the Titanic of corruption that is SM Entertainment. Let’s hope, huh?
Why Scarlett, if there was no need for subterfuge, what is the reason for it being there in the first place? Why does one need to get back if the ‘honest’ answers are there in the forefront? This ought to be more fun to follow than a barrel full of monkeys.
You don’t think they will use those erudite lawyers to speak for them that they have in JYJ’s case do you? Some real winners there. LOL
