JYJ’s Kim Jun Su recently talked about a behind the scenes story when he played soccer with Park Ji Sung.
Kim, who is well known as a soccer maniac, recently shot a pictorial and gave an interview for the October issue of the magazine @star1.
Kim also talked about when he attended a charity soccer game with Park in 2011 in Vietnam.
Kim said, “I wasn’t there for the soccer game but Park said, ‘I heard you like soccer. Come play with me.’ I wasn’t feeling very well that day but I pretended that I was okay so I could play soccer with him.”
“I played soccer for fun but Vietnamese players might have thought that I’m a soccer player too because I was tackled by them a lot. I passed the ball to protect myself.”
“Since I wasn’t feeling very well, after the game I was really exhausted. Even though I had arrived in Korea, I’ve been sick for two weeks. If I were to be born again, I would want to be a soccer player.”
More on his interview will be published with the October issue of the magazine on September 20.

now that shows how much he loves soccer and park ji young-who would pass up an opportunity to play with someone you admire?! i would have done the same i think! so glad he gets to play soccer so he won’t regret later in life about not choosing to be a player! lol! he is just a doll! oh, can you imagine a life size junsu doll? time to sign off~

I was thinking what will happen if he choose to be a soccer player instead of a singer. If he manage to play in the Olympics, most prob he will become the hottest soccer player in Korea.Hehe..

it was 2011, Jun 14 – and next day, they performed too. Besides, Jae was suffered from bacteria infection back home as well. Guess their immune system weakening due to poor health.

Junsu…it is not advisable to take flight when sick , eg influenza, it will cause deafness.
Thanks Lord, you still wise enough to protect your life , no joke at soccer field,
all those tackles can cause life. Hot humid weather + exhausted sweating = 2 weeks breakdown.

From my understanding, this advice is mostly geared toward small children with ear infections. Of course, it’s not pleasant to fly when you are sick, but it will not cause deafness in most cases. Perhaps that’s not what you meant when you say flying when you are sick will cause deafness, but certainly none of your sources supported that conclusion.
They did see an increase in the amount of pain or trauma (again only for a certain percent of the population), but not deafness. And most of that pain/trauma will resolve by themselves.
This is what the CDC says about this “People with ear, nose, and sinus infections or severe congestion may wish to temporarily avoid flying to prevent pain or injury. This is particularly true for infants and toddlers, in whom obstruction occurs more readily.” And the injury that they are talking about is this: “Middle ear barotrauma is usually not severe or dangerous and can usually be prevented or self-treated. It may rarely cause complications such as a perforated tympanic membrane, dizziness, permanent tinnitus, or hearing loss.” Note, hearing loss is a rare occurrence.
Also, it’s not stated what sickness Junsu had during those two weeks. If anything, the problem of flying when you are sick is that you are immobilized for a long time, lack of rest (for some people), and the risk of contracting a communicable disease while your immune system is down.

Isn’t that what we are having? I don’t think we need to be medical professionals in order to discuss health-related topics. Case in point, you mentioned the high risk of deafness when flying sick and also wrote your recommendations on that.
I think it’s important for everyone to look up and get their health-related information from reliable sources and to not spread misinformation around. That’s why I asked for your source and provided my own. I certainly don’t know everything about air traveling and sickness, and that’s why I wanted to see where you got that information from to make my own judgement about this issue.
The first link that you provided me was only about pediatric concerns of air traveling and ear infections; you should show me the other links so I can check them out. The second link was just the definition of perforated eardrums. Of note, it also says that while it can lead to hearing loss in rare occurrences, a normal ruptured eardrum will heal by itself without any treatment.
I don’t think talking about this have anything to do with supporting Junsu. I hope he is healthy and gets sound medical information about his health, but as fans, we should be able to converse about health topics without interfering with our support for him.

Ermm… if you are sick… please NEVER run on the field!! You might just get a pericarditis or other form of heart infections if you are down with flu involving bacteria.
Many people get really ill after getting involved in vigorous exercises immediately after recovering, or when still ill.
JUNSU YAH!! Don’t do silly things like that ever again!
