[INFO]
KOTRA Appointment Ceremony, which JYJ is appointed as the ambassador, is slated to be held on October 17th at 10:00AM in KOTRA Zurich Hall. [Description of what KOTRA and KBEE are omitted]
Pls consider carefully, if possible turn down this NOBODY want mission for J.Y.J
I don’t want to see ” Saving Private Ryran ” live demo by J.Y.J
Consider Greater China Market your main concern, why jeopardize them to do this?
SM idols (all ) took away all Sept ~ Oct Sino – Korea main concerts, Seoul Tourism main spot just a few days ago, siwon be Piaget VIP guest for Great China Region 11-Oct , why not you nominate him to do so? or Bae yong joon ?
Oops, just remember siwon declared his loyalty to Korea, and will not care promote in JP again.
He looks to Great China Market only. And Understand this is ridiculous.
And oops, Bae is busy mingle with China market to promote his major artists in China : kim hyun joong & Kim Soo Hyun.
And this is our wish to see Kim Jae Joong , Park Yuchun & Kim Junsu safely perform in China too.
Pls check out what happened to Taiwan Amei, HK Tony Leung ( he later rejected the movie offer with AKB 48 前田敦子to settle the fire against him ; Malaysia Fish Leong horrible stages crashing in China.
They simply being stirred by netizens to have link with Japan , before and upcoming movies.
Isn’t this being done by Korea for the “good” of Korea? How does turning down a chance to mend bridges between Japan and Korea make you “loyal” to Korea? It doesn’t make sense.
Also, does that mean that SME has taken all his artists away from Japan and will not be promoting them there anymore?
Q2: How does turning down a chance to mend bridges between Japan and Korea make you “loyal” to Korea?
A: true successful model is suju siwon. He gains trust by Piaget ( not jeopardize its brand name in China, and not anti by Korean) Remember Sharon stone dumped sharply by Christian Dior?
Wrong steps make Jae & Yoochun more obstacle. Too sorry for Jae & YC, consider siwon now sailing safely like that. ( his coming tv dramas , movies target for China, not JP anymore)
Q3. does that mean that SME has taken all his artists away from Japan and will not be promoting them there anymore?
A: Almost, snsd coming back in November, dbsk in Korea, shinee in Nov. Most profit making groups EXO-M & K , f(x) , their activities in China bloom like happy spring.
- SM officially announced working with biggest portals sina / sbs/ kbs/ yinyuetai / asian wave
DBSK promote album, got to take photo with Jang DG new movie actress cecilia cheung at backstage of gag concert. ( after 17th BIFF, and her relationship with many China big names will help them)
You still didn’t answer my first question. Obviously, the relationship between Japan and Korea is not as great, so business between the two countries will also be a fail there. If the relationship is sour, somebody has to step in and help mend it. If every body says I’m protecting my “pocket” so I won’t help mend bridges between these two countries, then they are allowing the wound to fester and cripple the two nations. Siwon forsaking making peace b/t Japan and Korea to go to China in order to preserve his buisiness deals with China does not make him a Korean “patriot” in my eyes. It’s born out of selfishness (self preservation) rather than loyalty to his country. Ofcourse, SM will make people swallow the “loyalty” bullshit, and it looks like people are already buying it.
And JYJ accepting this ambassadorship at this point in their career is just taking a “stupid” risk. But if they’re all in, then May this whole blah blah blah become successful. So JYJ fighting!
So what’s the conflict between China and Japan?
@loveunchanged
You are a very kind fans really. How i hope Non-Kpop netizens in 3 countries calm down. Unluckily, if we speak up for K-pop idols for doing the bridges, we will be in deep troubles. This is cruel.
Agree with you -
“And JYJ accepting this ambassadorship at this point in their career is just taking a “stupid” risk ”
And many netizen / weibo users ( very dangerous even mention here for me) , will be easily misled &
stirred up . A ” simple thing” will become absurd thing. If free time allows, pls google Taiwanese top
star Amei, she was rumored to be friendly to Japan, so her China music concert stage nearly crashed into debris by angry Chinese. ( top news in Asia)
The conflict btw China & Japan – is historical war scar, and recent Pacific region unrest. Plus US extra help on Japan , and a dispute territory island now ” purchased ” by JP govt.
** imagine California, New york being purchased by JP govt. That is the deep conflict.
Now even top officials can’t solve the problem, China refused to attend IMF at Japan. A big deal.
Sigh…we are in business with these 3 major economy entities. Not to mention Korea.
China determined to cut trade with Japan. Officially announced NONE artists can attend / involve in Japan activities of any kind. All Taiwanese artists very scared. Some top singers rather cancel their concerts with huge deposit in Japan, and not to irritate China. Because they may not able to get the visa to perform in China market again.
Other more concrete figures is :
————————————————–
1.Toyota dropped 65% output, after 9.18 national wide protest in China.
This is the cruelty reality .
We watched so close at big six eg JYP , SM. They are not inactive in Korea, but they are very active in
China. They are slowly shifting their axis . Pls keep observe.
Siwon, must say , succeed under SM careful & hard push. But just to disappoint you, he is not as popular as those day working with Andy Lau etc. But his connection still there. Because in China,
there is a growing influence power to reduce high-reward/ production cost K-stars.
Piaget use him, not because he is asking a lowest offer, but comparatively other more influential China stars’ ” shake hand fee” is 100 times of siwon. That is why.
And finally, am i bashing siwon? no, i watch his tv drama too, and admire how can he stand the toughness & language barrier. More important , he is a good Christian fellow.
Thanks for your liberal thinking & patience to read my post.
This would be last post , as i m too practical , and sometimes knowing there are problems for JYJ but can’t help them. Pls continue support JYJ.
I’m seething with anger. In an ideal world what you described as “wisdom” is just cowardice. Siwon is not an example of anything other than how to be an advantageous snake. Where was this so-called loyalty when Suju profited from Japan with their “hit” singles? They somehow managed to have a tour in Japan from this and then they sold an “Opening Commemorative” album. They even have an official website in Japanese. I just can’t with this circus anymore. There are so many things wrong with this that make no sense.
Why the hell would artists be expected to align themselves with a countries political agenda in the first place? What does JYJ, SNSD, KARA or whomever have to do with the atrocities commited in WWII? Does this really make any sense to you? So the politicians that started this scandal YET AGAIN (because you know perfectly well that this is not the first or last time that these 3 countries are squabbling over something or another) go scott free and somehow movie stars and pop artists pay the price? Really? That is how things work over there? Then I hope JYJ just goes to the U.S. or Europe or something because this bullshit isn’t worth putting up with.
I read another post of yours. You brought up the massacre of Nanking. Don’t know how you can so liberally associate that with a music group. Apparently the Korean, Chinese and Japanese fans who have stood loyal to JYJ mean nothing to you because you give more importance to the ever-predictable anti-Japan riots than you do anything else. Way before this I have read your anti-Japanese posts. Either way I just can’t bring myself to care anymore. If you are *so* concerned then you can email CJeS directly instead of “pleading” here because this website is NOT a direct link to CJeS.
1) I assume yr post responded to mine. First of all, i ‘m neutral about siwon, and all other idols.
2) I am not writing political attack to any countries – China, Korea or Japan.
3) the clip i post NOT massacre of Nanking. That is used as a implied meaning of someone being despised, but now recruited to rescue other, and they feel honor to do so. That is all.
4) pls read through carefully real Korea , Japanese & China NON-Kpop forums, before jumping to situation. Do you think that K-pop fans number bigger than Non-K-pop one ?
And finally, i didn’t offend another, include you, wish you do the same .
5) Whatever they do , it is JYJ final choice, as a long terms fans since tvxq/ dbsk, we walked through many
6) i m not a fortune teller, but for I-fans living in the west, given 1 year or more. You will understand.
7) lastly, i did not bash JYJ , or bash cjes. Pls understand.
You are not lauding Siwon or SME but you do approve of their actions.
I didn’t say that you posted clips of Nanking what I find very over the top and offensive is that you brought up the issue while talking about a boyband. Keep things in perspective. It seems you have caught the same fever that these nationalists have. No matter how you slice it, it DOESN’T make sense to involve a pop group with the racist tensions plaguing Asia since before they were born! You could have picked many other examples of how someone who is “despised” ends up doing dirty work or whatever it is that you were trying to say…Nanking IS NOT an appropriate choice.
I know perfectly well that K-pop is a niche group and that is exactly why racist, nationalist loud mouths should shut the hell up. If they are so inconvenienced by Japan then they should address the government. Yeah it makes *real* sense to bash kpop groups or smash the windows of a Japanese model car. That will really change things. I’m not going to listen to a bunch of idiots who use the very traumatic and painful pasts of China and South Korea in relation to Japan just so that they can do damage and in the end fix nothing.
hello, i did input my post here , but not sure why disappear:P
Now i cut it short :
For siwon , he got a wise but evil company to help him, remember Sharon stone dumped by Christian Dior ?
After siwon declared loyalty to Korea, and don’t care about Japan. Luxury brand Piaget relieved and invite him
to be VIP at the flagship opening for Great China Region . He is the King now. Though not much award.
So cjes, you are kind and sincere, pls do correct market things.
But did Siwon open up his mouth to say “I DON’T CARE ABOUT JAPAN”? I bet he didn’t. He’ll wait untill the waters in Japan is calm and all inviting and then go back there to do business. Plus, Siwon being invited by Piaget is not such a surprise. He and his group (SUJU M) has been working in China as Chinese artists for years and they’ve been getting Chinese deals there for some time now. So this is no different. If Japan becomes all lovie dovie with Korea again and you ask Siwon about his previous statement, he’ll say he never said “he didn’t care about Japan” and he’ll be right. Just because he says “Im loyal to Korea” does not translate to “I hate Japan”. Unless he actually said that (let me know). And just because JYJ wants to help Korea mends fences with Japan doesn’t mean they are “anti-China”, far from it. So for now lets just keep quiet and watch them do what they think is best.
JYJ global listener
@loveunchanged
How i hope other non-kpop fans as friendly & reasonable as you for the situation.
Many netizen, are not .
I don’t think there’ll be any problem in the upcoming appointment ceremony, but let’s see what will happen at the KBEE held in Osaka and whether JYJ, as ambassadors, will be able to attend and perform there. I’d rather be positive about this news first and trust JYJ’s decision to accept the offer. JYJ represents Korea to promote a good cause between 2 countries. People should leave politics out of it. Idols are entertainers, not politicians. They’re just doing their jobs. If fans love them, then support them and don’t let political tension between the countries get in the way because the artists aren’t responsible for it. It’s better if people can live in harmony rather than try to create more tense and hostile environment. Let the governments handle their affairs.
@Angie,
I m sorry, this is our wishing thinking . But brands will not judge from same logic.
While considering which artists to use for promotion in China. No business men want to take risk.
Not sure if you travel stay in Asia recently, but many conflict now acute than ever.
South Korea, also done a lot of political things in non-political areas:
( eg, it denied Taiwan sports status so as not to irritated China)
Korean vs Japan : hallyu is the button to press
———————————————————————–
-Korean footballer denied bronze medal for Dokdo sign at 2012 London Olympic
( Japan condemn Korea lied about this behavior as individual )
So why involve yourself in this tornado, while JYJ already drained off the J-pop singers images for 3 years? However, JYJ are Korean as well, this is an internal affair indeed. Really none of my biz after all. Sigh.
This is not the right time for JYJ to promote in Japan. It is suicide mission for JYJ. They will be SACRIFICED if there is any flare up. Political tension is very high now between Japan/Korea and Japan/China. All it needs is for SoMeone to create a little noise to the press and JYJ will be shot down by both Korean patriots and Chinese patriots (we r not talking about JYJ fans here but the general population) They are already banned in Japan, do you want them to lose their Korean and Chinese market too. If it is really good for the artist, why do you think SM and other artists reject this offer. (SM can makes tons of money from any Japanese goodwill generated). Siwon already got the flakes from the Japanese when he spoke up about the island conflict. Some Korean acts like Kara are questioned about their loyalty. ‘Dr Jin’ and some other shows are being cancelled, victims of this fallout. It will be worse if the Chinese attacked them for promoting in Japan now. Many China, HongKong, Taiwan artistes try to distance themselves from Japan now to avoid Chinese anger.
When Xia was having his fan meet with Japanese fans in Jeju last month, I was quite worried for him. Of course it is not his fault as the fan meet was arranged before the tension started. But I noticed that although the fan meet is for Japanese fans, the room banner is in English. Someone commented that its weird that they have banner in English for Japanese fans. I think the hotel was just playing safe.
@jyjfan – agree with you a lot. For Junsu ‘s Jeju island FM , promotion kept to the lowest key. Goosh Junsu’s family new hotel is going to completed in coming March or April in Jeju Island, and also mianly inviting JP fans for the ceremony, he keeps it so low key to protect, why involve him in this ambassador things now ><
sigh….forums of JYJ fans, mostly regard this is a ” toilet paper” show again.
Fans are on edges right at this moment, cjes must handle this confidence crisis.
Not doing this Korean-Japan is gain than loss. Because possibly , JYJ will be used and throw like toilet paper.
This time ,no fans will forgive you as a competent agent.
my wholehearted advice.
It’s unwise now for JYJ to accept the appointment as Goodwill Ambassador for the 2012 KBEE. We Chinese fans are worried for Cjes’s decision now. SK and China are both victims of Japanese invasions and fascism in the Second World War. And the Japanese government has never apologized to the two countries from heart like the Germany government did to European countries. And the Japanese government often denied the true history of Japanese crime on asian countries and has taught Japanese young people false and twisted history. It’s a public humiliation to Korean and Chinese people. So that’s why we two countries are against Japanese government. If JYJ and Cjes unwisely accept the mission, I think many Korean and Chinese patriotic fans will say no to JYJ. It’s a truly dangerous thing for JYJ’s career. We chinese fans can understand the hardship and blockade that JYJ faces now in SK and JP market, can comprehend JYJ‘ love for Japanese people and always support these three young guys against unfair treatment they received from SK and Japanese music industry. We Chinese don’t hate ordinary Japanese people but hate what the Japanese government did now. The act of SM’s giving up Japanese market temporarily has gained some hearts of Chinese people and it’ll be harder for JYJ to market themselves in China if the evil SM gains more influence in China.SM can easily gain its power in Japanese market if one day the dispute between SK and Japan faded. After all SK and Japan are both alliances of USA. But After JYJ does the mission, JJ, JS and YT will still be boycotted in SK and Japan as long as SM and Avex exist, will be suspected by its motherland people and will make themselves harder to gain potential fans in big China area in the future. So, JYJ must consider one thing prudently:they’re Koreans first, then they are artists.
I understand your concern. However, JYJ are first & foremost artists not politicians. What they have been doing for the past 9 years was to bridge the gap between people of different language, cultures, & countries into one massive fan-dome. JYJ are not rookie artist who are trying to capitalize on the void left by all who are promoting in Japan for only the money. If they were to perform their, it will only be for one reason only; which is they haven’t performed for Japanese fans in Japan for a year, while fans from other countries had the chance to see them. Japan has a special heart in JJ’s & JYJ’s hearts; they lived their & worked for 4 years; it’s like a second home to them.
I’m not Korean, Chinese, or Japanese, however I understand that the political issues are happening by the 3 governments, & all for local political gains.
Japan’s colonial history is a dark one, which I believe they have already expressed regret over it. To ask every government to apologize for the deeds perpetrated more than fifty years ago is not reasonable.
JYJ has survived the past 3 years not because of being someone’s pet, they have solely relied on their own handwork, perseverance, & the steady unchanging fans support in all over the world. If they are invited to perform in Japan, let them go, if anyone can break the ice, & take the hit, it will be them & all their fans rallying behind them.
They are already facing dark times, please let’s not be judgmental when it comes to them.
I’m not Korean, Japanese, or Chinese. But TBH, yes, it is completely reasonable to ask a government to apologize for actions perpetrated more than fifty years ago. In historical terms, this is not very long. There are still plenty of people living who experienced WWII on all sides. Nazi war criminals are still charged even if they’re 90 years old. So yeah, WW2 is not irrelevant to politics today.
I’m torn by your statements. While I wholeheartedly agree that the current political climate should have no bearing on JYJ and their ambassadorships, your political statements seem a bit skewed.
But perhaps I am the one that is skewed because I am Korean-born and lived there until the age of nine. I remember even then the bitterness, pain, and attempts at recovery that was prevalent in Korea. Recovery of a nation’s dignity, honor and even identity. Many say Japan has never given a heartfelt apology, that is not saying that they have never apologized. They have repeatedly (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_war_apology_statements_issued_by_Japan) and not just to Korea. But whether or not the apologies were heartfelt is in the hearts and minds of the individuals so grossly affected during those times. What has never occurred is Japan offering reparations to the countries in which they committed war crimes and crimes against humanity.
It is often called an occupation, but it wasn’t simply just that.
“It may be pointless to try to establish which World War Two Axis aggressor, Germany or Japan, was the more brutal to the peoples it victimised. The Germans killed six million Jews and 20 million Russians (i.e. Soviet citizens); the Japanese slaughtered as many as 30 million Filipinos, Malays, Vietnamese, Koreans, Cambodians, Indonesians and Burmese, at least 23 million of them ethnic Chinese. Both nations looted the countries they conquered on a monumental scale, though Japan plundered more, over a longer period, than the Nazis. Both conquerors enslaved millions and exploited them as forced labourers—and, in the case of the Japanese, as (forced) prostitutes for front-line troops. If you were a Nazi prisoner of war from Britain, America, Australia, New Zealand or Canada (but not the Soviet Union) you faced a 4% chance of not surviving the war; (by comparison) the death rate for Allied POWs held by the Japanese was nearly 30%.” – Charles Chambers Historian
To say an apology is unreasonable for the slavery, human experimentation, biological warfare, and use of “comfort women” (forced sexual slavery) that occurred to Koreans as well as many other Asians does not sit well with me. But that’s not to say that I want Korea and Japan to remain at odds, the countries were just steps away from signing a major military cooperation agreement prior to the territory disputes blowing up in the news, the agreement has since been put “on hold.” I fully do not believe that the burden/blame of atrocities committed by one generation should be inherited by another generation, but that’s just my single opinion and when dealing with a nation of opinions, it is very sensitive and should not be dismissed or made light of.
kawaii00
I sincerely apologize if what I stated above offended you.
I didn’t mean they should not apologize, because as you mentioned they already did numerous times over the past 50 years.
wither all or some of their apologies are sincere is not something I would like to discuss as I lack the reliable info about that.
The crimes committed by the Japanese army during the war in all the invaded nations are atrocious & no one can is trying to sugarcoat that. It was a war that ended with defeat, pain, humiliation, misery, and human lives lost on all front including Japan.
However, the current generation should not be stigmatized & be held responsible for what happened many years ago.
Do they bear any moral responsibility to be more open, & to acknowledge what have happened? of course they do.
Disputed land, & other issues related to WWII is a delicate matter that would flare up every now & then.
It’s up to the politicians in all countries to put a solid effort to address and resolve these issues peacefully.
JYJ are not backing any party, agenda or ideology, they have worked and promoted all over the world, so I expect them to be more open minded than the average Korean. If this nomination will further their cause & help connect them with more fans, then by all means they should go for it.
Please don’t apologize for your opinion, I was just offering mine in contrast. I really enjoy that I can come here and read different opinions on current events. I agree a nation should not be forever paying for past generation’s mistakes. I admit my rationality and emotional response are at odds with each other. I just thought my opinion might help others understand that the current political situation is rooted far deeper than the surface territory disputes. And that it truly, genuinely has no bearing on the JYJ’s ambassadorship, this is something that always lies beneath the surface of Korea Japan relations and the flare up now will die down once again.
I think it’s because they are “Koreans first before they are artists” that they are willing to sacrifice themselves for their Country. Because their Country asked them to do this they’re going to do it even though they gain nothing from it. If they are artists first, then they will act like all the other artists. They would think of their investments and future career first like so many Korean artists have done (cough: SM artists). They are banned by both countries but they are willing to help heal both countries enmities towards each other.
@loveunchanged your last line is truly what I believe our boys are doing. We need to not let politics and past generations’ feuds keep us (the current generation) from healing and living without animosity towards each other.
I think it is wise to look at the whole issue objectively. There will be pros and cons in this undertaking. no doubt about it. However, it is a calculated risk involved in either way.SM may have its own agenda to lower its portfolio and interest in Japan and try new market like China. But JYJ’s agenda is very different to SM at this stage. It it their heartfelt wish to be able to re enter to perform again in japan. What is most important is see it from JYJ point . If they can set foot again in Japan and fulfill their desire , then they should go for it , I feel is is still a window opportunity for them. What is most important though is that fans from SK, China, Japan and around the world gave 100% support in their decision.
I hope they are not doing it just to “perform” there. I hope they are doing it because they would rather bring peace to these two countries than allow them to resurrect their dislike for one another.
I think that is the case. They seem to seriously miss their fans and this appointment will face obstacles just like all the others so I doubt they have hopes that it will be more than a meet-up with their fans in Japan.
i’ve been gone for few days and been left out in the news…then this
woooow for real…
but i dnt undrstnd are they gonna perform in japan..if so hope nothing unfortunate happens..and praying they will be welcome with warm, deafening cheers from the people of japan and prove they are still and forever be the kings <3
Wait guys, all korean can not just blame jyj. I believe, it’s not solely c-jes decision, JYJ’s opinion must have been taken into consideration before accepting this ambassadorship. All of their projects have, don’t they? So, if there is no other, as in NO ONE wants to take this honor offered from the God damn GOVERNMENT’s institution (which is sponsored by the high and mighty South Korean Ministry of sport, culture, blah, blah…whatever), why should common people blame JYJ if there is something wrong later? JYJ should be given credits for this work.
As in china market, I don’t know. I guess JYJ’s qualities themselves as artists will determine their surviving power (plus the fans’s suppotrs). I simply believe in their abilities (and also in fans’s supports).
Correct. Only when fans rally together and give 100% support in their decision. Then their success rate can become a reality…First Japan and then China and the rest of the world. Each step takes careful concrete planning and the most important part loyal fan support. No one even SM can topple that foundation.
@sunni – i agree with you. But 100% fans support of JYJ ( Korea , China ,Taiwan , Japan , HK) , still much smaller than 10% of the national anti and patriots. This is the most horrible part. We can help Junsu from the Para game unfair, but we cannot help JYJ from right wing in JP, patriots in Korea and China. ( recent netizen wars between 3 countries could be regarded as war already) ><
sunni
I know it is worrisome .But more than ever we have to give a united front . There will be challenges ahead no doubt. But how we handle those hurdles in our comments against the political rebuttals is more important. In no circumstances should we be a voice to that issue. If we do, we are only be going to be suck into that barrel. It will be a vicious cycle.Focus on their music which is universal in our comments instead.
@sunni
hello, putting aside China & Korea aside. ( much horrible)
This is some of the real Japanese emotion against Korea. Something out of fans effort to help.
sunni
The political climate is not very good between China and USA especially with the remarks made in the presidential election so far. On top of that there are tension between Japan and China and also Korea over the territoral islands . This is not new as there has been such incidence in the past. The latest is the withdrawal of the top china banker from the IMF to Tokyo Like I say, this is political chess moves from China, USA and Japan . For us , it is best to stir clear from such issues. Because base on past issues, it will come to pase.Just hav to stay clam and not to be involced. Stay Foocus on JYJ and the music. is the right strategy .
@aurora – I read through all Chinese forums today. SM signed a lot of rapport contracts with main commercial/ entertainment corps in China. Even Yinyuetai, the portals support Junsu. DBSK will begin tour except JP next year. Suju many tours in China too.
Also weigh with Kor & Jap financial / social noises. Must say big six is guru. A cunning head and evils mind = big biz.
There will always be haters; there will always be extremists. JYJ has fans all over the world. JYJ would not make decisions out of fear, nor kowtow to extremists who are really being used as pawns in their government’s political propaganda. I think their decision shows that they believe in their fans in Japan and China and that they want to rise above this political fray. JYJ stands also for compassion and the decency in each and every human.
JYJ has been loved by the fans from many countries as a matured K-pop group with a refined brand image. They deserve the role of the cultural ambassador.
When they were as DBSK, they spent years in Japan. They donated massive funds when Japan suffered earthquake. Their close tie with Japan and Japanese people cannnot be discounted or denied. If they were allowed to perform in Japan, they would go there in a heartbeat.
JYJ is certainly going to walk on the tightrope related to the political tensions among Korea, Japan and China, but their love of their fans will overcome naysayers after all and will be able to share the message of love and peace.
I’m not really sure the reason for the negative reaction to this news. Yes political tensions are especially high between Korea and Japan right now. They’ve always had tensions and will likely always have tensions, it will ebb and flow as it suits both respective countries. That’s just how it is when one country occupies another country for 35 years.
The announcement from NHK that Japan will be “more selective” in choosing K-pop groups to perform is not solely based on recent territory disputes, this has been a couple years in the making. Japanese nietzens have shown a growing resentment to seeing so many K-pop artists on their charts and at their annual events. They certainly do mot wish to have the over saturation of idol groups that the Korean market is facing today (http://netizenbuzz.blogspot.com/2012/10/the-grim-reality-behind-rise-of.html).
Why anyone views Siwon as being “loyal” to Korea for his announcement to no longer promote in JP is beyond me. What SM did was see the negative trend towards K-pop in Japan and decide they needed to focus on a different market, China. China, by the way, has territory disputes with South Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan, Japan and the Philippines (http://www.fairobserver.com/360theme/chinas-territorial-disputes-security-or-strategy) so I don’t really see how the Chinese market is being viewed as “better” or more “loyal” to Korea. Siwon, namely SM, just made a very strategic move because the likelihood of their company idols being welcome in Japan is very slim in the current environment. Siwon has also made some extremely homophobic comments, is he suddenly a “pioneer” of Christian values b/c of this? *sarcasm*
This appointment is by KOTRA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KOTRA) and KBEE (Korea Brand and Entertainment Expo) are both Korean organizations whose goals are to spread Korean based brands, businesses, technology and entertainment to many foreign countries (not just solely Japan). And considering JYJ still can’t perform/have activities in Japan, I really don’t see the downside to this appointment.
Honestly I feel a little strange about this whole thing, and really confused as to why Siwon and SM are being brought up as if they are models for JYJ and CJeS to follow. SM’s financial maneuverings have never been doubted as being sound for the company. They are a company that always looks out for the bottom line, the almighty dollar and how they, as a company, can acquire more of it. For me, my preference would be for JYJ to continue what they are doing, expanding their limitations and growing as artists, businessmen, actors and human beings. And hopefully this appointment can break down a few more barriers for them in their own home country. JYJ fighting!!
Thank you for this.
Let’s just wait & see, people are being caught up in this increased political tension, which is not the first time it happens, & it will continue to happen in the future. Let’s focus on what all of us agree on which JYJ & their music & art.
Regards
Thank you ..you’ve expressed very well what I think too…
I trust JYJ’s decision…IMO this situation have parallels to their split with DBSK and SM and I’m sure that thay have weighed the pros and cons. I trust what I know and see of JYJ and their fans and seeing how they handled everything so far, I have confidence in their decision and personality to handle this appointment.
Everyone,
Let’s not use this space as a political debate forum. Let’s leave those political tension behind and be united under the spirit of music, art and love that has been promoted by JYJ.
Best,
So they were not canceled after all?
I hope nothing weird will happen!
i was also thinking the same thing………hope nothing weird will happen! >_<
i think maybe the cancellation was for their performance in the Expo that held in Osaka in November but not the appointed?
From other article:
“This 3rd 2012 Korea Brand & Entertainment Expo is scheduled to be held from November 14 to November 16 at Osaka-Intex Exhibition Centre in Japan”
hmmm……. nice ^^
Well lets just wait these 2days..i’m praying that everythings gonna be alright..
Let’s pray together!
Dear Cjes,
Pls consider carefully, if possible turn down this NOBODY want mission for J.Y.J
Use wisdom, sometimes, you can say NO .
@loveunchanged
the whole thing is beyond logic understand. This is sentimental one .
Q1 :Isn’t this being done by Korea for the “good” of Korea?
A : What ever done is useless in economic term .
Link 1 :
http://www.japantoday.com/category/politics/view/azumi-cancels-trip-to-south-korea
Link 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FopXVekaDV0
Q3. does that mean that SME has taken all his artists away from Japan and will not be promoting them there anymore?
A: Almost, snsd coming back in November, dbsk in Korea, shinee in Nov. Most profit making groups EXO-M & K , f(x) , their activities in China bloom like happy spring.
- SM officially announced working with biggest portals sina / sbs/ kbs/ yinyuetai / asian wave
DBSK promote album, got to take photo with Jang DG new movie actress cecilia cheung at backstage of gag concert. ( after 17th BIFF, and her relationship with many China big names will help them)
Link:http://www.soompi.com/2012/10/12/dbsk-snaps-photo-with-cecilia-cheung-after-filming-of-gag-concert/
This is what wise but evil biz corp doing for their artists.
How about sincere cjes?
@JYJ global listener
this thing in china is happened to siwon?
@loveunchanged
2. Japan airlines – sharp cut 15,000 seats weekly , shares fall .
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-09-21/japan-air-cuts-china-flights-amid-islands-spat-shares-fall-2-.html
3. More Japan biz in China under threat to ceased. Include factory, bio chemistry etc
- http://www.japantoday.com/category/business/view/japans-top-3-carmakers-to-halve-chinese-output
I wish everyone happy everyday.
cheers.
@retrokim
I can’t trust the Korea entertainment leaders at all. Lets wait and see what made C-jes take this offer to our boys.
@loveunchanged , @ MISS_CHOI_ HYUN
hello, i did input my post here , but not sure why disappear:P
@loveunchanged
How i hope other non-kpop fans as friendly & reasonable as you for the situation.
Many netizen, are not .
I though they were cancelled along with Kara or something like that… anyhow, we shall wait till the day after tomorrow and see what happens. *sighs*
@jyjxoxo
it is more sorrow knowing that JYJ has to pick up hot rod threw away by other idols.
Definitely agree with you. You said everything that was on my mind.
@Angie,
I m sorry, this is our wishing thinking .

-Japanese anti-hallyu protest continue: ( fuji tv already reduce K-drama a lot)
http://www.soompi.com/2011/08/22/japanese-antihallyu-protests-continue/
-Korea netizen mainly mad and anti Japanese
http://www.koreabang.com/2012/stories/japanese-anti-korea-demonstration-korean-netizen-reactions.html
So why involve yourself in this tornado, while JYJ already drained off the J-pop singers images for 3 years? However, JYJ are Korean as well, this is an internal affair indeed. Really none of my biz after all. Sigh.
i’m so happy for the jyj!
but too me hope that don’t happened nothing of weird!
just gonna wait and see what’s gonna be happen on day after tomorrow…..i hope everything gonna be okay before, during and after this event
This is the current political tension between Japan/Korea -conflicts over Dokdo Islands http://edition.cnn.com/2012/08/14/world/asia/south-korea-dokdo-takeshima-islands/index.html
The Japan/China conflicts over Senkaku (Japanese name) and Diaoyu Islands (Chinese name) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senkaku_Islands_dispute
This time ,no fans will forgive you as a competent agent.
my wholehearted advice.
i’m so worried for my baby jyj!
i hope that will go all right!
So, JYJ must consider one thing prudently:they’re Koreans first, then they are artists.
what. the jyj must to do?

say… yes or no to this nomination for ambassadors?!
say me please!
i’m so worried for them!
JYJ, though, have nothing to do with this.
@kawaii00
Yes. This si much!
@sunni
hello, putting aside China & Korea aside. ( much horrible)
This is some of the real Japanese emotion against Korea. Something out of fans effort to help.
@ai uta
every year there are plenty govt nominations. Some are bones, some are flesh. But Cjes got only the bones.
Like playing bridge, big 6 now say ” PASS”, but cjes still go!
this is the most pity part.
Anyway, it is JYJ own choice. But fans will not so willing to bail them out again.
Too weary, and too often.
A cunning head and evils mind = big biz.
i hope that to cerimony will go all fine!
fighting jyj!
Seriously, thank you.
*hugs****
Best,
