The producers of musical ‘Elizabeth‘ denied rumors of JYJ‘s Junsu getting paid 60 million KRW (approximately $54,000 USD) per show.
The producers, EMK Musical Company, stated, “It is not true that Junsu took 1.92 billion KRW (approximately $1.7 million USD) as a guarantee after 32 shows.”
EMK Musical Company also added, “For 120 shows, ‘Elizabeth’ costs 9.5 billion KRW (approximately $8.7 million USD) for the production, or 80 million KRW ($73,000 USD) per show. That includes the venue fees, the copyright fees, the actor expenses, promotional costs, along with stage and set costs. It doesn’t make logical sense for one actor to take 75% of the total production cost. ”
The company is currently planning to take legal action against the media outlet that reported about Junsu’s pay.

I know i shouldn’t be saying this !! but he deserves it ^^ even the actors themselves said he’s one of a few musical actors that can sell out the entire audience for each stage he perform in .

It’s not a question whether he deserves the amount or not, it’s all about accounting feasibility. If Junsu worth that much, no musical production could survive unless they will raise the ticket price to cover up his talent fee, but 75% for one actor will surely build chaos within the musical industry.
I’m completely aware of this and that’s why i said “I know i shouldn’t be saying this !! ” ^^ what i meant is that he was just AMAZING !!
@little star – Junsu , he worths. He is a trademark that save much promotion cost , and guarantee audience at hall & DVD selling. Just like other hallyu idols, overseas markets so huge, a selling guarantee, eg Jang ks.
In Asia, main roles expense always 50% of total production. It is normal . Their names are bestseller.
Though Junsu is rookie, but, his popularity far more valuable. Some famous willing to help, and discount their asking.
But mostly they are established wealthy stars, eg Jet Li, Andy Lau, Aaroon Kwok etc
Junsu didn’t discount his effort in acting. He deserves better reward.
If the rumors not comfortable with this offer, then are they more comfortable with idols getting similar reward by ratio??? ??

Stupid article, you know what, even if it’s true that he got paid that much per show, he TOTALLY deserves it, two reasons: first, he sold out all the shows, that’s a lot of revenues and not too many actors can do that, second, he is KIM JUNSU, so take that.

well, somebody from somewhere is trying to ruin Junsu’s moment here. By making up stupid story about money he made. Where the hell did this person got the information? Who knows right, It’s not from Junsu that I’m sure of.
Some people can’t stand that Junsu could possibly be doing just fine in life. So what if he were getting paid that amount. The reason why his musicals sell out –and sell out fast– is because people are buying to ticket to see him. You don’t see people complaing when Roberts/Pitt/Leo get paid 20 million per movie. I’m glad that they stood up for him. But, I wouldn’t have a problem if they had come out and said, “yes we paid him that much”.

Seriously, how much Junsu got paid for one show is none of their business. Which media outlet has this much free time to write such (false) insignificant info in stead of reporting about his getting rewarded with an honorable Award? All of his shows had been sold out; he drew much attention to the musicals he appeared in; he played his characters amazingly, so whatever amount Junsu earns, he fully deserves it. No need to try to stir up unfavorable opinions against him, geez!

For those mass media Just sensitive to Junsu’s biz, but NOT sensitive to other Korea market pricing :
1. For some tv stars , he/she gets US$65,000 per episode x 20 eps in Mainland China. ( nett of transportation, hotel stay & food etc)
2. Korea hallyu , concerts , DVD : US$259 / tickets , which exceeds most worldwide top artists
T-ara , one 90 mins stage at HK , their offer was US655,000 .
3. Korea food : restaurants , supermarkets agricultural fishery products , 2nd top expensive other than Japan style.
Pls ask the market price for inviting such grade artists for any 1 hour commercial event. No singing, no dancing, just standing for photos,
cocktails in hand mingle around. FYI, US$129,000 – just a shake hand fee. A special label know this well.
Whether Junsu was paid this amount or not it is nobodies business but his and the people who paid him. Either way Junsu earned to be paid what he is worth because he attracts a lot of people to his musicals and sell all tickets out quickly. His performance thus far has be top notch star quality. This is really not news worthy to be reporting. This is so stupid and is not taking awaying nothing from Junsu’s amazing moment!!!!!!!
