Junsu Kim has won the Best Actor for a Leading Role
18th Korean Musical Awards was held at Olympic Hall at Olympic Park, Bang-I dong Seoul on 29th October.
Junsu Kim won the Best Actor for a leading role with ‘Elisabeth’, beating Jeong Han Ryu (Two City Story), Seong Hwa Jung (La Cage Aux Folles), Seung Woo Jo (Dr. Zhivago) and Jung Min Hwang (Man of La Mancha). He also won the Most Popular Actor too, which made him double-winner of the day.
He could not even leave his seat for a while as if he could not believe that he had been called for the award, and sent his regards to fans and other actors/actresses with softened tears in his face and the host Jimin Hong gave him a hug for celebration.
“I don’t know whether I’m the one to receive such a big prize…”, started Junsu Kim with speechless-comment-with-pleasure.
“I guess this award is from many people and other actors/actresses’ love for me and I would like to thank to every actor/actress, staff and audience since Mozart three years ago”, he continued with tears.
He commented, “I’m so astonished and so out of my mind. Thank you so much. Thank you for my loving parents who are always on my side, and Mr. Chang Ju Baek and C-JeS family who have been my sincere supports since we had a lot of changes. I also would like to send my sincere thanks for my members Yuchun and Jaejoong who gave me a lot of encouragement when I stated musical for the first time. Thank you for the staff at EMK who cheered a lot for me who had absolutely no idea about musical. Musical means a lot to me because it gave me a chance to stand on the stage again, sing again on the stage, being invited to this award and gave me this prize that I could never even imagine to have. Thank you very much for everyone in the industry and all of you. I will do my best to be the actor who can contribute to the musicals”.

i put musicals high above compared to actors and idols in korea coz artists in musicals all have talent while some actors and idols are popular coz of pretty faces. So i really value junsu’s award, voted by the community of talented musical stars

Agree 100% about Junsu but disagree with ” in musicals all have talent ” , I have known quite a few mediocre/poor musical actors wannabes especially those from SM! But anyway, let’s just celebrate Junsu’s phenomenal achievement, whether an actor is in musical, drama or movie, if he has that gift of acting, he’ll always radiate splendidly.

Musical industry is not playground for those indifferent idols. That’s why i admire Junsu , he respects musical field with full focus. As talent as he is, Junsu paid extensive time & body strength in rehearsals, building up synergy with all co-players.
Some other idols just treat musical field a job,. In coming December, a musical name “catch me if you can”. One role, rotates with 6 different young idols. This causes big trouble even in rehearsal, not mention the weak rapport relationship.
These 6 different idols’ agencies, eg SM, said idols are too busy with other jobs, only a little time can be spared.

He deserves all those awards and more yet to come …. I am very proud to be his fan. The three guys are very special, hardworking, loving and good artists in all the ways! With these 3 (JYJ) is enough for me .. Super happy about how well they are doing in their individual activities .. I have to love them.

OMG I love this video so much!!!!!!! I love how both MCs were so hyped up especially the lady!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG she cracked me up, I cannot stop laughing!!!!!!! I love the pure surprise on Junsu face!!!!!!! He really was so surprised that he won. He was just there enjoying the lady mc being so funny and then bam they announced his name as the winner. It was so perfect that the lady mc hyped it up right before she announced he won!!!!! I am so extremely happy for him and this video is so touching!!!!! I cannot get enough of watching this video!!!!!!!!!!

The various obstructions from SM have turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
Had JYJ been able to perform freely as a K-pop group, Junsu might not have gone into Musicals.

When all door close we always can found one door opening, when jyj cannot appear in tv they learn how to do musical, drama and composed music which right now they became the best in that field!! my thought (only my opinion), because this event will air on SBS caused (could be) Junsu couldn’t performed anything at this event, not like when he joined on at 6th The Musical Awards, he has appeared on the opening plus performed as TOD too and this at 6th The Musical Awards only aired by OBS (a cabel TV not National TV)
The only thing missing from his speech were the mention of CJES and it’s CEO. SBS omitted that part of JS speech. It’s absolute justice hat he won. JYJ Fighting!!!
