It has been reported that JYJ‘s Junsu is building a family resort in the lovely island of Jeju.
On December 5, tvN‘s eNEWS aired a segment on celebrities who give businesses to their families as gifts. Many stars usually gift their families with coffee shops or restaurants. However, Junsu’s gift stood out because it was a resort.
C-JeS Entertainment previously revealed that the resort is run by Junsu’s father. With the costs of buying the land, the construction and everything else, the amount that Junsu spent is estimated to be around 15 billion won (about 15 million USD).
Local residents are responding favorably to this resort. They said, “This area is beautiful but we don’t really get a lot of tourists,” and “Since Kim Junsu is a Hallyu star and has much fame, we are expecting to see an increase of tourists. We hope that this area will become a mecca of Hallyu.”

first news : A representative stated, “Junsu is very busy because of his schedule and JYJ activities. His father has experience in business relations and will take over the management of the hotel. Junsu’s father is also the one who is named as the owner of the business.”
second news : Reports have been going around stating that Junsu is on his way to becoming an entrepreneur by constructing a hotel in Jeju Island. The representative explained that those reports are false, and that “Junsu has no relations to his father’s plans on opening a hotel business in Jeju Island. This entrepreneurial plan is under Junsu’s father, not Junsu himself.”
To be honest, I’m in a quandary as to why all those folks feel they need to know Junsu’s business anyway. What he, JJ and YC do with the money they earn is their business. I’m just tickled pink that these young men are doing what honest hardworking folks do with their money, they grow it. I’m sure they did their homework and planned this out well. I wish them nothing but success. One more thing to add to my bucket list.

Being an international fan these are sometimes the only news we hear on our boys and it makes us feel proud of them that they are able to do these things. I don’t get to read, view all of their magazine interviews or understand Korean like local fans, thank god for this site so I can keep informed on our boys.

It’s not so much about what business the guys are involved with. It’s the money thing. I have to admit I don’t go around checking on other kpop artists and what they do. But it’s almost as if the need to know about JYJ’s money is everyone’s top concern. How come the media wasn’t this concerned when they were still under SM and part of TVXQ? The media didn’t seem to give a tinker’s damn then.
I am extremely happy Junsu and his member brothers are doing well. They should have been this successful financially years ago.

Crebeau is a franchise cosmetics company. You buy into it and get to open and operate your own store. I could be mistaken, but I saw somewhere Mrs. Kim has two stores. I also believe one of Jae’s sisters has one as well.

This is a win no matter how you look at it! His fans have been flying in to Korea see his musicals for the last three years and his solo performance this year. Sure he gets the income from his ticket sales. But there is sooo much added revenue that his fans create from hotel rooms, restaurants, sight seeing etc. Now he can potentially capture a huge portion of that ADDED INCOME for himself that was previously given to OTHER companies in the travel industry. YES! YES!
Junsu’s going to reap the FULL Financial benefit of his OWN TICKET POWER, and keep the money in the family so to speak!
This is genius in a way because it’s a complementary business to Junsu’s music concert career. He reaps the full benefit of ALL the dollars (won, yen etc) his fans are spending to come and see him perform. Greatly MAXIMIZING the potential income from each of his performances.
It’s like the hand just found the glove to keep it warm. It’s more than just a business…more than just creating added cash flow…it can be a means to support Junsu’s commitment to staying focused on music. This is a true blessing.

This may give Junsu the security of knowing he has at least ONE GUARANTEED venue (even if it is small) in his own country where he can perform whenever he wants to..instead of traveling the world looking for stages! Oh what a blessing this venture may turn out to be!
I’m imagining.. Junsu having intimate concerts in the Grand Ballroom of the hotel or wonderful outdoor concerts in the courtyard of the of the hotel…or creating spring and summer music festivals, inviting others to sing or even providing a venue for new local artists whose focus is on quality music to premiere! The hotel resort seems involved “huge” investment, in fact , 15 million US$ is JUST 50% of total $ Jang KS earned in China ( 2011) , NOT YET included from Korea, Japan, other south east countries & worldwide copyright. ><
Those media constantly exaggerates Junsu's $ flow is not helping him.
Actually, total property value of Jang's family is far more bigger than Junsu's & his family.
, sigh…. invest on an Island is far more risky than in Seoul.

If I’m not mistaken you’re a Junsu bias fan, but then you’re not afraid to burst the bubbles, and I notice your deep concern about Junsu’s economic stability and I can’t comment much since I know too little.
I haven’t read about JGS activities in China, but I heard a lot about him in Japan and it’s really impressive how he’s doing well (in term of income generation) from an actor to an entertainer/singer though he has just a mediocre singing ability. If only JYJ isn’t blocked, they definitely can surpass JGS assets by now.

What kind of building was that to depreciate that much. But in general, investment is like a gamble, the probability to success depends largely on how honest and reliable the feasibility study was conducted and the right management.
But then we don’t really know what is the real value of the Kim’s assets correct? Who knows maybe more than enough to build 10 resorts…I’m sure they smart enough to do lotsa research before investing. I don’t compare his assets with other celebs tho, cuz what they do with the money is up to them really. In the long run, I want Su to have big revenue from whatever he’s investing. Same with Jaechun.

Where did you get info that Jaejoong and Yoochun are much ahead in income than Junsu? Just curious! I always thought Junsu is very low profile in showing his personal asset (except his car ^_^), so maybe that’s why we will never know how rich he is 😊
