[NEWS] 130122 Jaejoong’s music video for “Mine” ranks #1 in China

January 22, 2013 · JYJ3 Team

Jaejoong‘s music video for “Mine” ranked #1 in China.

The music video that was released on the 17th ranked #1 on Yinyuetai‘s ‘Korea V-Chart’. The V-chart reflects votes from the fans themselves, and is a chart that is a good gauge to measure an artist’s popularity in China. Jaejoong’s video for “Mine” ranked #1 in 5 days, far above the #3 video of Super Junior-M‘s “Break Down” and Super Junior K.R.Y‘s “Promise You“.

YinYueTai is China’s version of YouTube and Jaejoong’s video for “Mine” has already garnered over 4.6 million views.

A Chinese media representative said, “Jaejoong’s album will receive a lot of love in China. It’s a new album that’s different from the standard idol dance music. The high-quality music video with the mysterious character has charmed the viewers.”

His mini album ‘I‘ has ranked #1 on Hanteo‘s real-time, daily, and weekly charts as well.

Congratulations to Jaejoong!

    Allkpop is doing a disservice to your biggest patron/sponsor SME, why do you have to post that screencap photo having Jaejoong topping the biggest stars of Hallyu?
    Thumbs up to AKP this time :)

        Yes, I guess there must be Positive Trolls who roam the internet chatrooms spreading sweetness and light, saying nice things about every topic they encounter. That must be what it is. :-)

    It is satisfying to see Our Jaejoong sitting handily above the heads of SuJu-M (!) et al. Su-Ju-M, SME’s oh so clever ploy to capture the Chinese market by getting uninformed fans there to think Su-Ju are actually…. Chinese! Then again, Uninformed Fans seem to be SM’s target customers world-wide these days. That apple cart can be upset by anyone who actually releases a real quality product, needless to say.

    I’m lookin’ at YOU, Jaejoong!

      Who in their right mind would think they are Chinese? A quick look up on Wikipedia…people are even too lazy for that now?

        @retrokim

        But retrokim — it’s got the “M” after the name! That means “Mandarin!” That means “Mainland!” THAT means Mondo UNITS SOLD!

        Come on — play along!

      @lilibaiyu ~ yes SME has locked their target in China.
      suju M under crazy heavy promotion JUST in China ( this group only in Asia will earn enough)
      their song ” Breakdown ” now world album billboard rank # 1 ( this is a 100% Putonghua song)
      the recent Beijing & Nanjing fm huge success.

      link:
      ——
      http://www.billboard.com/charts/world-albums#/charts/world-albums

      Really no joke. SME knows well their strength and weakness.
      After very tough training, some of the Korea member can sing fluent putonghua song , seems like native speaker :P
      that really work to capture more and more Chinese buyers.
      ** recent Homin concert in HK, min can now sing fluent putonghua song as well. Quite shocking & make listeners put on
      big smiles hearing , he really can break the ice ( actually i think they practiced a lot a karaoke room :P )

      This is the area JYJ must put attention to. ( a very sincere recommendation of mine)

      Heavy promotion + focus marketing + zero distance with fans + average
      Even Junsu’s two ex-colleagues shines through suju M ! ( EunHyuk , Sung Min )
      so disappointed to see this commercial reality.

      Mass market needs popularity , instead of very talent yet untouchable artists.
      Thus, it is cjes job to fight for the solid work /promotion / performance for JYJ.
      Go more to the variety shows in China IS TOP priority now.

        i forget sm purposefully put its idols into a China-Taiwan tv drama last year called
        When Love Walked In (Chinese: 爱情闯进门. Which view rate rank# 1 during peak hour.
        ( but must say this tv drama script sucked. The more negative comment , the more view rate, sigh
        Korea tv drama, Chinese idols working in Korean SME , are the major selling point)

        This strategy pushed their putonghua speaking major artists further receive so many interviews, variety shows opportunity in China.
        suju M , two Putonghua speaking member, (A) the taller guy, who bashed Han Geng , was well educated in MC & acting. He can write
        lyric very very received by China market. Another younger one (B) , was bashed by K – elf from joining suju new member. He is real talent. This guy actually born in Canada and dare to spoke for Han Geng when his was bashed by suju.

        In terms of music , (B) is a real competitor. ( his weibo / twitter followers show great impact )
        for PR thing, (A) is the blind stick. ( yet his real personality, point to ponder )

        Anyway , fear not, JYJ fighting.

          @aurora

          yes promotion is really important for promotion. Junsu’s Tarantallegra rank # 10,
          but i treasure more Junsu’s music.

          Yet , mass market buying after idols promotion is really something.
          sm deliberately brought in 2 guest members, so to boost the sales .
          and now sell their popularity , gained the Chinese movie 忠烈楊家將 預告 OST ( Saving General Yang)
          What a ….

          So Yoochun rank high in tv drama must be continue to promote. Though JYJ gain quality buyers, yet the quantity is still need improved. ( sm selling targets are younger, focus on merchandize selling more)

          # must get more help to enhance Jaejoong ‘s rank # 1 in Yinyuetai, let’s look up suju – m youtube. Elf are focusing to take Jae down with suju K.R.Y new song at Yinyuetai.

        @aurora

        Yes, I understand your points really I do. But I’m just not sure the members of JYJ need to be panicked and scrambling to capture mass markets right now. Let’s be real here — Jaejoong, Junsu and Yuchun are certainly very popular in China. Their music, dramas, charismatic personas, etc can never ever be confused let alone be considered interchangeable with SuJu-M or anyone else for that matter. They have gone far far above the “Idol To Do Lists” put forward by greedy overlords. I daresay they are now among the richest singers in Korea – this is why there’s no mad press to capture new markets constantly. They are working for themselves, not for a giant entertainment company who needs to show profits that rise in every quarter.

        If they can manage to get themselves on TV in China that will be great, no question. But I believe the most important thing for them to do now is to create excellent, ground-breaking music. After that, you’ll be surprised how things will seem to neatly fall into place for them. The Chinese fans know they are Korean. There are all sorts of ways to circumvent the language barrier and JYJ are already doing some of them. The last difficulty still before them is getting back the TV and radio media. Once they do that, they’ll be invincible.
