Note: This is a follow-up report to [PHASE 1 & 2]
Last December 12, 2013, we implemented Phases 3 and 4 of our Charity Relief Project. Phase 3 was implemented via cash donation given to World Vision Philippines. We donated Ten Thousand Philippine Pesos for the Earthquake victims and another Ten Thousand Philippine Pesos for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda.
World Vision Philippines aims to gather resources to assist 1.2 million people (240,000 families) with food, non-food items, hygiene kits, emergency shelter, and protection, especially for children and women. We hope that our donation will help out this organization in carrying out its relief operations.
Phase 4 was implemented via cash donation in the amount of Twenty Thousand Pesos to Good Neighbors Philippines, which is a branch of Good Neighbors International in Korea, the organization being supported by our beloved JYJ via their Nii endorsement. We were warmly welcomed by its Country Director, Mr. Ann, Hung Goo.
Good Neighbors Philippines is focused on the rehabilitation of the cities affected by the Typhoon Yolanda. They launched the “Scool-based Child Friendly Space” Project to bring both the teachers and students back to the learning mode. The Project aims to give priority to children’s well-being and the fulfilment of their rights even in disasters, that is, the rights to education and protection. In consultation with the Department of Education-Eastern Samar Division Office, two schools were identified as beneficiaries of the project. Guiuan Central Elementary School (GCES) and Sulangan Central Elementary School (SCES) will receive school tents, teacher’s tables and chairs, arm chairs, movable white board, and school supplies between December 2013 and January 2014. The number of target beneficiaries is 2000 primary school students.
