This is the golden age of celebrity designers. Unlike brands that have appointed famous celebrities or stars as the simple advertisement model in the past, lately the case where celebrities who’re whether launching their personal brand or participating in the design of special edition items –to present to customers–, are increasing.
From November 21 to November 27, the design specialty job portal ‘designer JOB’(www.designerjob.co.kr) conducted a survey, with its topic being ‘What star do you expect to be the most active of celebrity designers?’, aimed at 413 members for a total of 7 days; and disclosed the results on November 28.
In 2nd place, JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong(18.8%), who participates as brand MOLDIR’s bag designer, had occupied the ranking.
The assessments from respondents were mixed between positive and negative toward the views looking at celebrities who are active as designers. According to the survey, the opinion on a ‘star’s marketing power’ accounted for more than half, with 64.8%.
Men’s and women’s total fashion brand MOLDIR revealed that they donated to orphanages in the full amount of their sales profits from the charity bazaar with volunteering service organization AMIS; conducted at BENACO in Sinsa-dong, Seoul last October 26 .
In participation with MOLDIR and as an event planned for those wanting to give hope and help for the children who are leading difficult lives; AMIS charity bazaar had SNL Korea crew member & singer Jay Park, Brown Eyed Girls’ Narsha, actress Clara with actor Kwon Hyeok-soo, Jewelry’s Ha Jooyeon and others in attendance and gracing the occasion.
At the bazaar on this day, BENACO, WAXX, Essence of Argan Oil with MOLDIR participated while the auction of items donated by Kim Jaejoong, Shin Min-a, Jo Jung-suk, Ji Chang-wook, Soyou, Kim Jyung-jun, the SNL Korea crew and other celebrities; and [the auction of] soccer shoes of national soccer players Lee Keun-ho, Kim Seung-gyu, Kim Jin-su, Jung Jo-gook, Oh Beom-seok, Yeom Ki-hun, Kim Kun-hoan, Park Hyun-beom, Lim Sang-hyub and other sports stars proceeded along.
In particular, active as a brand art director for MOLDIR at the auction, actor-cum-singer JYJ member Kim Jaejoong’s prized possession received hot attention, of the donations gathered at the location.
An official for MOLDIR explained the intention [of the auction]: “We wish to provide aid, even if it’s a little bit, for needy children through this opportunity and thanks to everyone who paid us a visit early despite the chilly weather.”

The fashion brand Moldir, closely linked to the Korean pop icon Jaejoong, is set to join hands with the fashion brand Deconetishion.
The two firms are currently in talks on founding a joint venture targeting China’s fashion market, according to local news reports Thursday. Deconetishion is to be in charge of product manufacturing and marketing in China.
Moldir was launched in September 2013, with Jaejoong owning the largest number of shares and serving as the art director for its products, which include bags and other accessories. Read More →
