JYJ Holds Charity Concert to Help Victims of the Japanese Earthquakes
Group JYJ cheered up its Japanese fans through a charity concert that aims to help the victims of the Japanese earthquakes.
According to its agency on the 8th, JYJ successfully held a charity concert two times on the 7th in Japan’s Tokyo Yoyogi National Competition Arena.
The concert had about 20,000 fans participate and was a charity performance that was to console the victims of the Japanese earthquakes and to donate the proceeds. JYJ plans to donate all proceeds save the production and operation costs to the Japanese government to have it be used as a restoration fund for the benefit of alleviating the damages from the earthquake.
The agency relayed: “Because this is the first time that JYJ stood on the Japanese stage after Japan’s Avex unilaterally announced the cessation of JYJ’s activities last October, it was particularly meaningful.”
On the other hand, JYJ will have a grand finale of the World Tour in Pusan’s Sajik Gymnasium on the coming 11th and 12th.

I am curious as how much they raised! Proud of you boys 🙂
Me too… I bet it raised millions of dollars!
I hope they raised enough money because they need to restore the N-plant fast.
Close to 2+ million I think O_O
Though..
The article should have said each concert had 20,000 right? Not the concert had 20,000 since they did it twice. I’m glad they mentioned that they did it twice, but more clarity would be better.
I’d say around there too. Since the venue wasn’t that big this time it also costs less…
The tickets costs were around $105 (minus the handling fee’s) x (Lets say 25,000 people) = 2.65million – (Lets say) 400,000 to 500,000 for costs to hold the concert = around 2 million.
^_________^ Imagine how much they would have raised if it was in Saitama Area! 65-70,000 seats sold…@_@ Avex is such a douche >.<
Yeah. I’m still confused.
A comment @ the General All Purpose post said that they doubled the capacity of the Kokugikan. Instead of 2 people sitting in a box, it was 4 so they could accommodate all 70,000 people who bought tickets. So it was really 70,000 in total for both concerts …. (?)
But that’s still 52,000 and not 70,000 … so I’m confused.
Where’s Hayato-san…hope he clarifies with the numbers. ^^
Ah….But there should have been a maximum capacity amount. I don’t think that even if JYJ wanted to, it would have been allowed by law, because of safety reason and such. Well, it doesn’t really matter hehe. All that matters is J-fans got to finally see JYJ, JYJ finally got to stand on Japan’s stage again, they raised a lot of money for charity and everyone enjoyed the concert! *throws confetti*
^^
*throws more confetti*
LOL
Agree. $2 million is no small amount. I’m still like this after I calculated the probability … O_O
It’s going to help a ton of people. JYJ overcame great odds to be able to hold the charity concert and see their extended family again. Bigeast got to see the guys again after all this time. They get the awesome stage and acoustics. We get amazing sound quality fancams. Everyone wins! ^^
…super proud to be their fan~ I’m sure those affected will appreciate what they have done. ^^
“JYJ plans to donate ALL proceeds save the production and operation costs to the Japanese government ”
WOW!! JUST WOW!!! SO PROUD!!!!!
WOW!! THESE GUYS ARE REALLY AMAZING! Good deeds will get tenfolds of good things for JYJ!!
right on!
whats these means~~ “all proceeds save the production and operation costs “..can someone xplain…
syirafm, that means that they will take the ticket money, and pay off all the expenses, like the venue rental, … mmmm just all the costs that they had to pay for to hold the concert. and then all the remaining money will be donated. so basically, the boys will make no money and they don’t lose money.
owh…thanks girls for explain…thats also what i thinking..hehe..juz to make sure..
I guess they are goin to save some money to pay what the production costs. It makes sense, they neeeded people to put all that together. So it means JYJ were the only ones working for free ~ I’m so proud *tears of joy*
GOD BLESS U ❤
WARM HEART
that way we said JYJ ARTIST not like any k pop
this is so awesome that they were able to hold the concert and raise lots of money to help their japanese fans and people. they really are special guys with big hearts! no wonder we love them so much!
as if donating more than half a million dollars on their own is not enough, they had to hold 2 charity concerts too! that’s JYJ alright. they are simply a cut above the rest.
You right!! *high fives* 😀
I’ve been thinking how to better put my emotions into words, but couldn’t come up with anything than simple “I love you, my angels” They give and give and give, but only ask for love in return and repeatedly thank for support…
all i can think of to say, cuz it’s soooo overwhelming~~~GOD IS GOOD!!!
It wasn’t just the ticket prices they profited from…it was also the fangoods that were sold out. I just hope that Slaugternation isn’t expensive and that the venue didn’t charge a lot for renting. I am happy that a lot of money is going to be donated.
how could i not love such warm hearted angels!?i am so proud!
And people still asking why I love this boys.. -____-;
PROUD! JYJ I LOVE U!
JYJ generosity is beyond imagination. I appreciate and admire so much their behaviour towards Japanese people in need, because not all the successful artists are so generous as JYJ boys are. They receive love and they give love two times greater than they received first.
yes and that’s why many people became more n more love and loyal to them 🙂
also they are really became inspiration for other people to be a better person n always help other person who really need it
@Miaw
That’s true indeed.
Thanks JYJ for having such giving and caring hearts.
Those who brand JYJ as greedy………they should ask forgiveness for saying so. errr…some who said that will not be able to justify calling their faves generous or they themselves who said that are the greedy ones!
I’m very happy because de JYJ’s charity concert was a total and amazing succes, and as someone said above, and still wonders why love JYJ? I think the Japanese people thanked in advance this beautiful gesture of the boys to fill completely the two presentations were held.
I’m so proud and so worried about them at the same time
So proud for their good heart and JYJ can clear themselves about the rumor that they would cheat ticket fees by saying they can’t find a place to hold concert (this stupid’s over the net)
So worried because I don’t know what AVEX will do to them. I think AVEX gonna ask huge money from JYJ about this
DON’T HURT MY JYJ
So proud of our boys…they truly have a generous heart…as proven…
Gosh I need a thesaurus. What’s another word for proud?
These boys are amazing and very deserving and generous.
