Hmmm, according to my world clock thingy on my toolbar, it is currently 2:50pm in Seoul and it is 10:50 PDT in California. If the concert is 7pm KST that makes it 3 am for me and 6 am back east. Did I figure that out correctly?!
this junhyung/hara thing is reminding me how much i used to ship jaejoong/taeyeon back in the day when people only cared about jaesica and taesu. they hardly ever interacted in public, but i was obsessed with them lolol. such a pathetic life i lead. T____T
anyways i hope that when the boys get gfs (assuming that they don’t already), they’re comfortable enough to reveal it to the public. they shouldn’t have to cater to fans’ emotions 100% of the time.
I wanted to see Jae in something before his new drama and I just finished watching Sunao ni Narenakute tonight. Before I watched it, I didn’t know where the story was going to go, but in the end I absolutely loved the characters. The way that the story unfolded, I could help tearing up, which I don’t really do all that much.
It was great to see Jae being an adorkable character, I was able to put the phone/foot stomping clip into perspective, and it was good seeing his character grow towards the end. Can’t wait till August!
Not yet, that’s one of my next ones to watch, once I find where I saved the site to watch it. I managed to to find SKKS on viki, so next weekend I’ll be watching all of that.

No… honestly i felt that TVXQ will be 5 forever before this…but, i didn’t surprised when JYJ sued SM in 2009 because I know how crazy their schedules and I once had thought before this that they took drug to gain strength for performance…(how bad I was..TTOTT)…and I really understand JYJ but slightly regret with HM’s decision. when they split into 2 group, JYJ & Homin.. I also didn’t surprise bcoz both parties has different personalities.. this is my 5th year with them.. TTOTT

I wasn’t around during TVXQ days…I’m a post SKKS fan… however after finding out about JYJ I bought some TVXQ concert DVDs…T, O and Secret Code….while watching I always admired the chemistry and closeness of JYJ and noticed how in the concert whenever the 5 would split into 2 stages or into groups they always ended up as JYJ on one side and HoMin on the other…and it made me wonder if those program splits contributed to the bond of the 2 groups….who would have thought…I think even LSM didn’t.but I’m glad that JYJ stuck together ..
Honestly when I heard the news I was shocked cause I thought if they decided anything they would stick together as 5 not split up. But when I learned how crazy their schedules were and read all of the things they went through because of SM I was disgusted with the company and relieved that JYJ left.
About who I thought would end up with who, well I found out about DBSK around 2006 and even back then I always knew Jaejoong and Yoochun were very good friends….they just gave off that vibe. The same goes for Junsu and Yoochun, they just had (still do) a very cute relationship with each other. Changmin and Yunho well I always thought Changmin with stick with Jaejoong cause he always seemed more happy/carefree with Jaejoong so I was sad/shocked to find out that he stayed w/ SME. Yunho on the other hand well he was always my least favorite because I always felt he tried to hard to be cool/funny…….also during their time in Japan I always felt (don’t kill me it was just a thought) that Yunho was a bit jealous of the other members cause of their popularity. So basically I wasn’t that surprised when he stayed with SME, a bit sad yes cause I am a YunJae fan but I know how to separate reality from fantasy so I didn’t take it too hard.
Still I do admit even if I am now a JYJ fan, TV5XQ holds a very special place in my heart, their interactions and presence on stage together is something that do miss but we all know that nothing ever stays the same. I will continue to love and support JYJ because their music and personalities has given me some of that magic that TV5XQ had, much different which makes JYJ that much more precious to me. ^_^

shocking and sad to me… Yunho’s father words and Changmin’s bitterness… Yunho’s talking like they didn’t know JYJ’s real selves (They were together 7~8 year!! how can they do not understand?)

i know all db5k are close to one another, but at that time, it seemed jae and su’s relationship was always kept down low or hush hush…not seen so much compared to the rest. it wasn’t like they weren’t as close, but it did get fans speculating….and cause unnecessary fanwars between them as both were the main leads in a way.
so i’m glad now, things have changed for the better in that aspect as jae and su’s close friendship can be vividly seen ^^
LOL the JaeSu OMG-NO-MY-OPPA-IS-THE-BEST-VOCALIST-IN-DIBUSK fanwars were the best. TBH, I was kinda ashamed to be a Su stan back then because it often seemed as if the wank was almost always instigated by other dolphin aficionados. People would write us off as jerks and I’d be like “nooooo, we’re not all like that. i love jaejoong’s voice, srsly!!1 ;~;” Fortunately, there haven’t been many arguments of that nature post-lawsuit.
Oh yea the behavior after the lawsuit also shocked me more then the actual separation. Changmin and Yunho just became so bitter and cold towards JYJ…….that really did influenced me to become more of a JYJ fan. *sigh* Even if they might never get back together as a group (which I think is better for JYJ & HoMin now) I just want them to be friends again or at least on talking terms. Then maybe their would be less fanwars *hopeful*
Oh and about Jae & Su’s relationship well I always thought that they had a cute brotherly relationship but it probably developed during DBSK’s later years cause at first they didn’t really seem that close.

I can honestly say that I didn’t know anything at that time. I like TV5Q and was aware of their activities but I had no idea of how bad it really was for them or that there were already rumors about the pending lawsuit long before the filing of said lawsuit. When the news broke out, I was shocked. I wasn’t actually surprised about who stayed and who left though, considering that Jaejoong, Yoochun, and especially Junsu were the members I actually saw having careers of their own even back when they were five.
But even then, once the lawsuit news broke out, I had an idea that things would never be the same again. But I think the thing that made me give up the idea of the five of them being back together anytime soon (or at all) was the SME press con in November ’09. Because while people were claiming that the signatures were forged, I actually believed them to be real.
Before the lawsuit, I lived a really peaceful happy life of a typical fangirl: spazz over their voices, their hairstyles, their clothes, their eyes, their lips,… LOL I just spazzed over everything about TVXQ, you name it. Never in my life could I imagine something like the lawsuit would happen, let alone the fiasco 3 vs 2. Then BOOM, the news about lawsuit just poped up out of the blue but actually, it didn’t hit me right away. My friends, my sister all called me asking if I was okay but I was really calm. I told them that this was just temporary, that I believed in all five of them. Yeah I was really naive at that time LOL. Then after watching their interviews on some Japanese music shows at the end of 2009 where Jaejoong just stood there like a dead man and Junsu kept staring at the floor emotionlessly, damn I knew from that moment that things wouldn’t be the same anymore. Then I was in an emotion breakdown, cried, depressed, hopeless. I realized that I needed a break and decided to temporarily quit the fandom. From the beginning of 2010 till the month of July 2010, I didn’t read any news, watch any vids or look into my TVXQ folder in my computer again (yeah, I’ve missed spazzing over the thanksgiving tokyo dome TT__TT ) Then one fine day, while searching for some music background for my presentation, I came accross the vid of “I got nothing” the boy performed in Tokyo Dome. DANG !!! I have never cried that hard in my life. The lyrics are so touching, the emotions and the voices are just perfect. It’s like the boys are telling me that they only have the fans now. After watching it, I blamed myself a lot for being a bad fan. I used to say I will stand by them no matter how or what but at the most depressing time, I wasn’t there with them. Then, I looked up news about both JYJ and Homin, about the lawsuits to catch up with the fandom. While searching and reading more and more about the lawsuits, I natually knew that my heart and my soul were now for JYJ only. Maybe 7 months staying away from fandom helped me to set my mind clear, to toughen up and make up my mind. Then now here I am, a hardcore and proud JYJ-only fan. I think that title is enough to say about my life now, there’s no need to say more LOL.
Actually, when they were still 5 together, I always thought Changmin were not that close to Yunho so at first I were quite shocked that he stayed with Yunho. I always see Changmin sticking around Jaejoong, trolling Junsu and acting silly with Yoochun ( I miss the KISS couple TToTT ) I didn’t see much interaction between Homin and to be honest, Yunho is my least favorite member so…( Well, I like him but sometimes he seemed so serious. After so many years, I still see the awkwardness when he’s talking on shows. But that’s a completely different story so I’ll pass.) Now thinking back again, I think it would be the same: Jaechunsu / Homin. I can actually understand why JYJ want to get out of SM but Homin want to stay. Jaechunsu are the ones that truly love music and SM cannot offer them the freedom and creativity they need as a musician. Their passion is not only singing and performing on stage but also making music while Homin’s dream is to sing, to perform on stage. I don’t think Homin are that interested in making music like JYJ are. This difference is actually understandable. Not every singer has interested in making music, you know. Therefore, I don’t think there’s need to say who betrayed who and blame each other. They parted because they want to live their own lives, to live their dreams, because at the end of the day, they are still 5 individuals who have different points of view, different lives, different goals in life. They are human afterall.

hey~~~ i didnt expect the split like this 3vs2 in DBSK but I did expect them to break up coz before the lawsuits I’ve been reading bout rumors there’s internal problem in DBSK and the curse of 5 years since debut.
Though lots didnt want to admit, DBSK pretty much split already at the moment. What I didnt expect is Changmin to be on the other side with SME I always thought he will follow the more rebel JJ and Yoochun. Junsu I just cant never figure out what he thinks before this, now I understand him better. JJ and Yoochun I acknowledge to being closer than any pairing even closer than YunJae pairing — my personal opinion so dx repulse and jump me coz of our different opinion ne.
The split was painful and i wish it never happened. But since it did, I’m one of those who think the division into jyj and homin was quite natural. The three boys always seemed closer to one another than the other two. I was sad that changmin wasn’t part of it tho. I love his dark humor and dry wit… And our three goofballs really brought out that side of him.
Like mostly everyone else, YES i was shocked and horrified. I would of assumed all 5 would leave SM as JYJ previously wanted. But now thinking back, i was astounded actually that Junsu went w/ Jae and Chun. I thought Su, who has been w/ SM the longest would never leave that company.
Now i got a question: remember when JYJ3 posted the recorded meeting of Su’s dad, Chun’s mom, and Jae’s sister? Was it then that they said at first, FOUR of them were agreeing to leave. If he stayed it was most likely cause of his parents; part of me bets that they “rubbed in” his insecurities of not making it on his own or with JYJ, being in debut with SME and all that jazz. prolly the parents on both yunho and changmin’s were a great factor. they wanted stability. i know jae and yunho discuss a lot as they were close so it could have been yunho as well who wanted to leave. and changmin seems to have strict upbringing so might have wanted to stay. who knows~
I first became aware of them in 2007; I thought they were cute teenagers with great voices, then I started watching them interact with each other in videos and was hooked! I was totally shocked at the split. By the time Melody and Harmony came out, I figured SoulMate would stick together; wasn’t sure about Su, tho I did have this fantasy of him going solo (don’t throw anything at me, please; I just love Junsu):D To be honest I didn’t really think about what Homin would do.^ ^

i was shocked when i first heard it. i never thought they would part eventually just because ive watched too many videos of them and the brotherhood seems really real..i know it’s real they could never fake that with all those candid videos and cams always following them around everywhere. so honestly it never crossed my mind that they would end of separated like this. Im a big jaesu fan, my biased is jae right from the start i already know about his amazing voice but he totally won me over with his 4dness..it’s so rare that with a face like his underneath lies a totally interesting persona..coz im used to thinking that God is fair and you cant have everything lol but he proved me wrong..it’s never dull when he’s around coz he always have crazy ideas, it’s just fun to watch him. Same with junsu they’re my 2 faves among them because they are just fun to watch, there was a time during their Tohoshinki days that junsu became my fave over jae but jae got back the throne when I saw him in person I was totally mesmerized..i dont really like yunho that much because of yunjae and i didnt like CM that much because he always was rude to junsu i know junsu is not the type of person who gets annoyed quickly but there were times i think that it’s just plain rude specially since cm is younger but that’s just me. I thought Yoosu would definitely stick together because they are so close, i know jae is definitely close to yunho and cm is definitely the odd one out of the group i dont know which member he’s really close to. Jae definitely has a soft spot for him coz he’s always babying him around. If you asked me then who among the 5 would sue or break out of the company it’s definitely Jaechunsu since they contribute more to the group in terms of creativity,music etc they give a lot so naturally they would ask for more and trying to tame them would just make them rebel more against you. **Bad move SM. reading all you hearts here gives me difficulty in breathing. at some point after learning about DBSK5 2 mos ago, i kind of feel the biggest regret of my life. that is, not having to know them when they are still together. i thought that they are so amazing, that for me not to be able to know them is a curse. but then again i really believe everything happens for a reason. maybe i didnt get to know them earlier because i wouldnt be able to take the heartbreak of the separation. i would definitely turn into one of those delusional and in-denial fans! aish..

They get TOO?! old??!!! Seriously girls. How old are you? 12? O.O They are way older than me(I’m 17) But I do believe that they are still pretty young! Yeah.. maybe the kpop scene has many teenagers idols these days but that doesn’t mean that someone is TOO old when he is only 25 years old!
And besides that, we, really, don’t know anything about their actual lives and relationships. It was a great surprise(at least to me) when JJ said that he dated 4 women since his debut . I was like WT**?? WHEN? But I realized that our knowledge about how they spend their time is very limited. Besides concerts and some stalker pics, we don’t know anything else. They meet many people everyday. And we know that JJ’s social life is very active (his so called –by himself- boyish GIRL friends are still girls at the end).
So, please. DO not get panicked about it ^^ The boys could be dating right now when we are talking about it XD . But I believe that they prefer to keep it for themselves. It’s very intimate after all. And we know how much they appreciate their privacy.
I also wish they could share the info XD but it’s ok if they prefer it like this.
Besides that, It could be too tiring if all the people and their fans learn about it. Why?
1: Jealous fans : They could bash the girl and the press would be too uncomfortable
2: Pairing fans: That is not that good either because some fans become too obsessed about it (just remember YJ”couple” ->fantasy) If the relationship ends the -pairing fans- would do what some YJ’s fans are doing right now :S And it is not good at all!

and the funny thing about Kpop and some of Asian country the older you get the less popular you become. While in the other part of the world the older the artist become the higher paid they will get, the more power they will gain and the more stable they will become. There’s so many examples I dx think I can list all here. Being an Asian I fond it weird and backwards. The degree of quality and “experts” increase with more experience. I understand face value is important but dont they know that the older a human being become the more beautiful and manly they will be?
Johnny Dep, Leonardo di Carpio (Im a big Leo’s fan lols), Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds (OMG), Brat pit, Jolie, Aniston, Garner (all Jens), JLo, Beyonce, Shakira, etc — to many to list here….. and my love the man indicated above increase exponentially with their chronological age.
That’s a very sad thing. To be judged, condemned and abandoned by the fans because of love, is extremely unfair.
¿Who understand this kind of behaviour? If you’re young, single and alone, they worship you and they’ll follow you to the end. But if you dare to age, to find a girlfriend and to marry, they despise you and they’ll throw you away for ever.

That’s why our JYJ men have to produce work/concerts/dramas that reaches a more diverse (age, ethnicity, gender, economical, etc) fan base. They can’t stick with the teenage fan base, not that is anything wrong with it; it is just you can’t grow too much as artist if you create music to cater only to teenage girls. Their world concert was an example of showing musical and performance diversity. People, hopefully now know that, JYJ are grown axx men, and that their music and concerts will have a more sexier vibe; simply put the men got their freak on and told the world: these is who we are, men in our prime, ready to compose our own material, direct it, and show you some things that they haven’t been shown, and we could not show as young idols ( and rightfully so, as they were really young themselves). We are moving to the next stage in our career, and we want to take many of your on our ride, so prepare for it.
These men need some practical (which I am sure they already got some) field experiences, so they can compose and create those next mind blowing albums and concerts. At the end of Gwangju, they said somethings that they will show even more awesome things in the future, I keep my eyes and focus on them waiting, Hope, in the meantime they get to date like any other 25 year old men and women do….with the all shabang of dinner, movies, sleepovers, and whatever floats their boats.
JYJ boys need a mature fan base who support them despite their marital status. That’s an undeniable truth. Unfortunately, young girls aren’t trustful fans. They way Jaejoong is leading things, making the performances sexier and showing JYJ as grown up men with needs, desires, and a very strong will; is a very wise and clever decision, and is attracting older and more trustful fans. Director Kim is a very intelligent man.

THIS ^. ….actually it’s been immensely illuminating for me to see how Korean pop music treats it’s artists – they literally are an expendable commodity. They are manufactured for a VERY particular target group and almost without fail….their expiration date is the military-service or dating/marriage. This is so foreign to the western-process where it’s fully expected for the artists to date, and to age, AND to improve. I am really hoping that JYJ’s management team can “pull it’s head out” and get a clue that the western market/fans mean LONGEVITY for the trio….they really need to do more to capture new fans – because by the eastern-pop-music standard….JYJ only 4-ish more years before they’re considered irrelevant. (sidenote: I do feel sorry for HoMin whose *adult* stage performances include male back-up dancers groping & stroking them…I actually quite like the song “Before you go”….but the choreo is gender-imbalanced – must be creepy for Changmin who has always been off-put by male touching) In any case – YES! to JYJ getting older and expanding their fanbase as broadly as possible.
Aside from the discussion about who thought who would leave and stay…I find the talk about the Asian concept of entertainers being put on the shelf at a certain age, somewhat of a paradox. It’s amusing to me that the purveyors of this idol group model chose to inject so much confusion into the industy.
Here is a culture that has been around for several thousands of years, they take the obeiance to elders to the extreme. Then they turn the tables so to speak, and give their artists an expiration date of approximately 30 years of age. Make everyone feel they ‘owe’ everything to the ‘father/elder’, subject them to a mindset that says the ‘elder’ is omniponent. “You cannot exist without me.”
The fanbase is ‘ENCOURAGED’ to believe that the ‘boy toy’ is all theirs, and theirs alone. Nothing and no one will come between you. Whatever else you might think, do not trust that anyone will take better care of them than we will.
Now along comes a group of three young men who can no longer stand the harsh, unethical treatment they are subjected to. I do understand all the confusion about JYJ’s future based on this model concept. But the one thing I keep in mind, JYJ are composed of three of the most incredible young men I’ve ever seen. These three are not your ordinary artists.
The fact that they knew how tough it was going to be, was enough for them to say, whatever it takes, I’ll do it to survive. I look at what they’ve accomplished in just about one year and I’m absolutely amazed! They have taken blows not many people could survive and live to tell about. They keep on going no matter what. I absolutely love this about them!
I personally feel, as they make it through this passage, they will show it is possible to grow up and have a career. Look at Seo Taiji, he definitely does not fit the idol mold, and is still going strong. Whatever immature fans they lose along the way, they will match and add on others who will come to appreciate the artistry and talent they are displaying.
I find it amusing to read the comments about how young everyone else is, and how some still think of the guys as ‘getting old’. Put it all in perspective. Here is a 60 something – 🙂 – who doesn’t quite see them the same way. I look at them, and practically think of them as ‘kids’. I know better of course, but age is all relative. I still finger pop – as my mom used to call it – and dance my ‘old butt’ off whenever I feel like it.
So, I’ll continue spreading the word about this fantastic group of three young men, who are awesome talents in so many ways. I’ll tell people all about their broad range of talent. That they bring so much more to the plate than just a pretty face. See, mature folks don’t mind the fact that there’s talent out there that can do it all. We after all have grown up knowing, liking, and supporting our artists for YEARS! We know what it takes to be there for DECADES. There is no earthly reason, this can’t happen for JYJ as well.
i wish we can know who they’re dating to (if they are right now) XD but yes, privacy is very important esp for our boys. and btw, they are certainly not too old or anything. i’m already 21 anyway~ =D
I dislike the Pairing fans as well. Why imagine the boys with there group members fantasized about them with yourself gessssh. I love my Jaejoong dreams at night. Also keep in mind the fans are very specific about the types of pairings they want to see JYJ with. Automatically there expected to date a korean girl or a east asian girl. Everytime the boys mention they find this or that artist attractive that is not Asian there is a backlash, I am like gessssshhhh why cant they appreciate a foreign beauty……what if one of them interracially marriages?
Me personally, if I didn’t know who they are dating/if they are dating, I would be happy just as long as I know they are happy; they’ve gotta keep some things personal. If they choose to let us know what’s going on in that part of their life then I welcome the news.
If they are dating, I just wish that they are with someone who loves and appreciates them for who they are as people. But our guys are smart, so I won’t worry too much about them finding the right person.

I didn’t know about this. But it’s not the first time that that’s happened. Johnny’s “suspended” Uchi Hiroki and Kusano Hironori “volunteered” to leave temporarily from NEWS (and also Kanjani8 for Uchi) too for under-aged drinking. They never got back to the group.
Johnny’s had always been strict with the “images” their idols uphold to the public. It’s okay to smoke and drink and date as long as you don’t get caught, but once you do, it’s over. It’s not fair and Morimoto’s career is definitely going to be affected. If Morimoto was a more popular member (I’m not really sure if he is because I don’t follow Johnny’s anymore), he could have only been suspended and could have come back to Hey!Say! JUMP eventually. But I guess the only thing fans can hope for now is that Johnny’s give him another chance like the agency did with Uchi.

Wow, I don’t know this group, the back ground or anything so I’m speaking purely by my own mindset about what you mentioned.
I personally don’t like smoking and esp. as a singer I prefer that you take care your instrument (voice) and that’s by not smoking but that’s my traditional musical mindset and I don’t put it on anyone if they do have that habit and is a musical artist cause it’s their life and they have the choice to care enough and know what they want and if they have a brain and know right from wrong they’ll eventually on their own come to terms with how they feel about their own habit.
The problem here is ‘underage’ and ‘image’ as someone mentioned. Em…I don’t know his bad deed to me doesn’t warranted the consequence, getting kicked out. Lets be clear, it is bad that he is smoking, that’s wrong. But to just totally dismiss him, emm a bit unfair. Em, I’m not sure what other fast quick consequence you can give him. I always go for rehabilitation before anything but in today’s world, ‘helping’ someone costs too much so I can see how just simply X-ing him from the group would be the easier ‘money friendly’ solution in their business. I do think it’s unfair, I do.
I think Junsu and Jaejoong have the most perplexing dynamics. Someone summed up their relationship quite nicely:

They also have completely different views towards fanservice. Jaejoong, on the other hand, adores fanservice like no other because he adores and loves his members almost to an unhealthy extent. When Yunho was poisoned he threatened to kill the girl that did it, he hovered around Junsu when he injured his ankle, and he’s cried the most over the lawsuit more than Yoochun and Junsu have. Unlike SHINee’s Jonghyun, who does fanservice because he knows the fans like it, Jaejoong does it because he wants all the world to know he loves his band members and he loves that the fans love it. Why do you think he collects Yunjae towels? If he had a facebook he would try to find a way to list himself in a relationship with all four of them. This is awkward because when Jaejoong tries to hug or pet Junsu, Junsu just sits/stands there pretty stoically and ignores it. Jaejoong probably caught onto this a long time, so who’s on his other side? Yunho. Who probably couldn’t say no to Jaejoong even if he tried simply because they’re so close.
But when Junsu is caught off guard, or he’s not paying attention, he is actually super super super affectionate. He’s grabby and clingy, especially when he’s laughing. There’s countless clips of him grabbing onto Yunho or Yoochun when he finds something particularly funny. Junsu also is notorious for having a very limited attention span. He can really only focus on one thing at a time. Also unlike Jaejoong, who is all over the place. One way he does this is that to show members he’s listening, he will touch them. Grab their hand, pet their hair, touch their knee. Very subtle things everywhere.
One thing that was really profound for me in the Jaesu relationship is during their Mirotic comeback film. There’s this one scene where the group is walking down the hallway towards the stage, and Junsu comes up and wraps his arm around Jaejoong’s shoulders. Jaejoong looks up, beaming, and clearly taken off-guard, but wraps his arm around Junsu’s waist for a brief moment before Junsu breaks away because he isn’t comfortable showing his affection in front of cameras.
Okay that’s the Jaesu dynamic in my head. Now everyone should go write them.”
Good read! good reasons haha. Honestly, I also thought one reason towards jae and su’s supposed awkwardness was due to the main/lead vocals. Which fans preferred which vocals and what not.
However, i knew jae and su were close because jae always had a joke or some teasing directed at junsu. I also think of the clip of a stalker cam recording Su reassuring an angry/depressed jae and Su was actually stroking his hair. this was during their “O” days.
btw i totally wrote a similar comment in an earlier post… and you replied to me there… but i’ll reply to you here lol. don’t worry. i was a Jae bias at that time and also ashamed for not liking Su as much as the rest because of stupid rumors/gossips. whew. so over that period. I LOVE SU ❤

Ha, like in all of us there’s men and women. Maybe the dynamics of Jaesu are more polar in energy than they are with other member relationship dynamics. I’m just speculating, talking.
haha i like ur comparisons about them as well! Really though, if we’re talking about differences in polarity, i would have thought it be Yunho and Jaejoong! Yunho really has the masculine characteristic and opposite personality than jj. What do you guys think? maybe thats why they had the greatest pairing as they showed off a great friendship still.
But in general, db5k all had a variety of different attributes that you would never think would mesh well as a group but it did.
I really believe that Yunjae pairing were just popular because their looks. Jaejoong being so beautiful, and Yunho manly face (i don’t really think he is that masculine). i mean Jaejoong was always close to all the members and like to touch all of them.
but the fans will always say they are just friends, but when in comes to Yunho every thing change. but i have to say Jae being close to Yunho in their early debut days helped. i mean before him meeting Yoochun he already knows Yunho because they were supposed to debut in the same group from the start. but i think the main reason is because people liked their looks together, and the rest was just fanservice .
I personally always liked Jaesu the best, and i have to admit, it’s because they are my bias.
Actually the funny thing is that I remember that back in the days when DBSK were still 5 a staff member said that Jaejoong was in fact the most masculine out of the 5. I think most fans only consider Yunho as the most masculine because of his looks/features which, according to the asian public, are very manly (he is tall, has a strong jaw, sharp nose etc.). Jaejoong is considered as “feminine” because he has such a pretty face but I never thought he actually looked that feminine (imo he actually didn’t look great at all dressed up as a woman for their drama, Yoochun or Yunho would have looked much more like women than him) . Jaejoong has a very masculine body, slim but quite muscular with large shoulders (larger than Yunho’s) and even his face is clearly masculine but SM made him the feminine figure of the group, the “mother” and later (with the whole YJ fanservice) the “wife”. It was part of their role/concept, Yunho was supposed to be the manly and responsible leader/father, Jaejoong was the mother and the wife and YooSuMin “their” children. It doesn’t mean Jaejoong didn’t care for his members or anything but we can’t forget that most of the shows they went on were scripted, and their answers weren’t necessarily true (which doesn’t mean they were always lying either). One thing which I noticed was how the members always insisted on Yunho’s manliness, as if to convince the public that YES, Yunho really was the more manly in the group. I’ve always found it a bit too much, I mean, there was no need to repeatedly comment on how manly Yunho was, I just thought it was strange (not saying Yunho isn’t manly but I dnt think he was the most manly either).
About the members’ relationship if you had told me 3 years ago that they would part in such a way (3 VS 2) I wouldn’t have believed it, but when I think abt it now, it doesn’t surprise me that the split happened this way. Yoochun and Jaejoong sticking together was almost an evidence, these two were obviously close and had their own weird little language/world/bond or whatever you call it. Yoochun and Junsu were also very close, on and off camera, often laughing together, whispering things to each other, and with Yoochun teasing Junsu alongside Jaejoong and, sometimes, Changmin. JaeSu were less obvious and I know a lot of people thought they weren’t close at all because they didn’t show much affection towards each other on camera but by watching fancams of them I was able to see that they were actually very close too (as mentioned before, I also remember this fancam of Junsu calming/consoling an upset JJ and caressing his hair). And I noticed that during reharsals JYJ often gravitated around each other while Changmin and Yunho were more on their own. I know YH and JJ were close even before debut, (YH even lived at JJ’s place for a while), and so were Junsu and YH (YH lived at Junsu’s place too) because they were the first to join SM and trained together for quite some time but after DBSK debuted it seemed that Junsu and yunho slowly drifted apart somehow, and tbh I never found Changmin and Yunho to be very close. Changmin seemed closer to JYJ, that’s why a lot of people were surprised when he stayed with Yunho in SM instead. Abt Yoochun and Yunho I didn’t find them to be very close either, they had their moments but most of the time Yoochun was either with Jaejoong, Junsu or Changmin. I think the closest person to Yunho was Jaejoong, even if we ignore the blatant fanservice it wasn’t rare to see them hanging together off camera and they looked very comfortable together.
But in the end I think what explains the split is the love JYJ have for music (and when I say music I’m not only talking abt singing but also abt composing, writing lyrics, arranging and producing their own songs etc.). JYJ were already the ones who wrote lyrics and composed the most during DBSK5. They were also looking ahead, planning for their future (which can partly explain their investisment in Crebeau too, cuz they knew an idol career isn’t that long and they weren’t paid much so investing was a good idea in order to lay some money aside for their future and an eventual reconversion). It also seems that JYJ’s families are less uptight and traditionalist (Yoochun lived in the US, his parents are divorced, Jaejoong’s famil”ies” seems like a big and warm family, very understanding, and Junsu’s family supports him and his brother in whatever he does and was never opposed to his dream of being a singer) than HoMin’s, which allow them to be more open-minded and creative and to yearn for more freedom and accomplishment.

Owh JaeSu ahahahha I think the both of them closer than we ever expected them to be. I believe what clicks Jaejoong and Junsu and even Yoochun is their interest in music, composition and singing. I remember in one talk Jaejoong said he learn to be more expressive while singing from Junsu and Junsu comment on how scary Jaejoong falsetto. I believe these two men teach each other how to sing and sharing their skills to improve themselves. This interest what click them with each other. I think they respect and admire each other and I love them for that coz that interaction had present us the dynamic vocal range from these two men ^^ That’s why Im dying to see and watch JaeSu duet. It would be the most amazing thing in the world.

Su’s raspy voice, with jj’s clear cut voice blends beautifully together. who would’ve thought! the closest we can get was their duet for Jae’s sister’s wedding ^^;; mann i’m posting too much in this general post today. usually i don’t do this but i’m trying to stay awake for the kbs concert showing.
and Junsu was right JJ ability is scary. He’s vocal range are amazing. He can go all smooth and angelic and another moment he’s all rock and scream on top of his lung and then fall back to be all mellow hehehe
I seriously amazed his ability. One critiques about JJ that stick to my mind forever was by Megadeth’s Marty Friedman:

Hero JaeJoong’ singing ability is not just averagely good, though Xiah JunSu’s singing ability had received the highest complements, however the strong duet formation by the two of them is then the powerful leading pillar of TVXQ. JaeJoong leads the group in coordinating the combination of voice, tone, volume, range, expression, interpretation of the song lyrics, leading choral composition, balance control, harmonizing each member as a lead vocal, there’s nothing to be picky about him. Not only that, he never stop learning and analyzing, searching for new type of singing method. In order to expand all different type of expression in music genres, every stage performance is just like experiments to him, putting his best to interact with the audiences, to input all his strength onto influencing the whole performance. It will take a long time to list down all JaeJoong’s musical talents, it would take some efforts to introduce them one by one. His look is the best in Asia, just his singing ability itself can also consider as the top in Asia too, even his attitude towards music, it’s the same as well.
What’s more alarming is that, his capability increased as time goes by. Recently, his creation pieces had also received lots of compliments, very outstanding. The album that TVXQ released last year included two pieces by Hero JaeJoong, consider as two of the most memorable pieces of the album. With self composed music and lyrics, which was really remarkable. Seems like this article is focusing on all the conventional kind of praising, however all that was listed above were magically the facts. Such dazzling combination of their charms as a celebrities and flexibility in music are something hard to believe even seeing with own eyes.

MC: next up is an interview with JYJ. in the interview, i’ll let JYJ have a look at something. what is it? it’s something i got from their thanksgiving live in tokyo dome performance in june 2010. i saved the ticket stub. so i showed it to them to tell them i went to the concert and that i remember how jaejoong cried at the end. when i told them that, they were like ‘woah, what’s up with this MC? do you have to follow us like that?’ With this trip to Taiwan, i’m sure they’ve left a deep impression on many of you. of cos, i feel that the person who gained the most is me because, using work as a reason, i could meet them backstage, etc. And before they left Taiwan, they took my ticket stub… and jaejoong was looking ard for a pen. he finally took a ballpen (which belonged to a staff) and signed the back of my ticket stub. then he very solemnly passed it to – i remember it was – junsu. and junsu was like ‘oh, okokok’. the third was then yoochun, who studied it for awhile before signing it too. then they gave it to me. i’m really thankful for that. later, we took a photo together and i felt that they really treated me as a friend. i was alittle embarrassed to stand beside them; i didn’t know what pose to strike, so i did a ‘JYJ is the best’ thumbs-up. suddenly, jaejoong grabbed my thumb, so his own thumb was sticking out. so then, junsu grabbed that. again, there’s still a thumb (junsu’s) sticking out, so yoochun grabs that. so we took a photo like that, which i’ve shared with you on weibo. right then, let’s have a look at this interesting interview! and because JYJ is going international, we wish them all the best and hope they visit Taiwan again soon.

in these past days, i’m thinking about everything that happen to our boys….about what they have through from their debut as DBSK until now, i’m never though that DBSK gonna spilt like now..back then when lawsuit finally occur, in my heart n my mind i always believe that everything gonna be OK, everything gonna be back like old days
even though i’m not hardcore fan like everyone who has became fan in same time like me but…..that time i never though n imagine that time gonna be happen n i though if they gonna be leave then they must do it together as 5 like what YH n CM on their last concert as DBSK act 1……….actually even though i’m DBSK fan but i’m not really update with their situation beside that time i must finish my study so when i heard that DBSK hiatus i’m lil bit confused n sad ….became a naive person, i still believe that they are gonna be together again like old days even though i can see clearly how their relationship became so awkward on AADBSK 3 but that time i’m just pass it…..
then finally i found this site n learn many thing about our boys situation….from this site i finally can realize also open my mind about what the real situation that our boys must through that’s why for JYJ3 admins/Mia thank u……thank u very much for create this wonderful site…..thank u very much for your hardworking from the beginning until now… (bow)…. slowly i can let go my naive thought…….before i always ask why for everything that happen with DBSK n our boys, but after i learn about the real situation more, finally i understand……
from these past days i realize 1 things for sure that when i finally understand about the real matter that time actually it’s not only the situation though but maybe also the reason why i only follow our boys….that time maybe my heart has realized it since beginning but i ignored it….after i understand n i saw what the other two do towards our boys finally i can accept it 100 %…………follow our boys step to start the new beginning again……watchin’ their life which always upside n down…..felt what their feel until now…….heard what other people said about them…..i never experienced it before…………..our boys…they are really amazing people who can influenced other people…….
because of them i can found my another home…….
because of them i can found my new family which always became more big day by day……
because of them i can talk n give my opinion freely,
because of them i can meet everyone from around of world
because of them i can felt many feelling that i never experience before
because of them……i learn to be a better person
there are so many things that i want to say to them…
there are so many thing that i must said thank u to them
i’m glad now many people recognized n care about our boys
i never gonna regret to choose them to follow

I think KBS has screwed us over again…I’m already awake, so I’m giving it until 8pm Korea time…then I’m going to try to go back to sleep. I will be spending a large part of the day spamming KBS’ twitter feed with some MAJOR hate if they have pulled the show.

You’re right, at least they kept their promise. And it was great seeing our boys laugh!:D I heard an “Eu Kyang Kyang” in there ^^ The boys really looked happy and handsome.
They DID actually air….something.
But they failed in their advertising….when you say you’re going to air a concert, using 11 minutes of montages in place of a 2 hour concert…is called bait and switch.
All I can hope for is that the local ratings for this show shot throught the roof during those slim 11 minutes….and the execs. FINALLY get the message how lucrative it would be to have them on as many programs as they can book.
Granted they did air something but you are absolutely right about calling it a “bait and switch.” I definitely feel swindled as I, and I’m sure many others, were expecting their full concert.
I too hope the ratings were astronomical and the message received that JYJ should be on programs now!!

Having announced it as “showing the JYJ Concert” and then airing only a short 12 mins is just pure cheating!!!
They could have said “showing snaps of the JYJ Concert”
They played with their words and gave the JYJ fans false hope.
I’m irritated by the fact that these producers, WANT JYJ on their programs and yet the darkness of SM is always on the back of their minds!

It wasn’t until I then started scrolling back up the gapp that I discovered kbs2 only showed 12 minutes of the concert. Suddenly I don’t feel so concerned for the kbs writer who tweeted that.
Though I’m glad they at least showed 10 something minutes of pure JYJ feature…it’s NOT enough. I’m just a BIT appeased. A BIT! I think KBS was testing the waters or something with this. Whatever. It’s KBS that needs JYJ and the audience that they command, not the other way around.

Yes I agree that 10 min. was better than nothing but soooooooooo not enough… Just don’t know how to react to this situation – be a little bit happy that they appeared or a little (read very) annoyed that it was only 10 min ^^
I’m pretty miffed tbh. If KBS2 had been honest & said they were going to show clips/snippets of the concert fair enough, but if the translations were correct, they intimated they were going to show the whole concert. It’s sort of like the glass half empty/half full – at least we got something, but it’s not what we were promised. I just hope Jaejoong, Su & Chunnie were told that what KBS2 were showing & didn’t get their hopes up like we did, cause they’d be even more upset… 😦

I understand everyone’s frustrations with the TV stations, I’m angry at the situation too. However, it doesn’t do any good to blame the employees. They need to make a living too and we can’t expect them to stick their necks out for JYJ.

I wanted to see Jae in something before his new drama and I just finished watching Sunao ni Narenakute tonight. Before I watched it, I didn’t know where the story was going to go, but in the end I absolutely loved the characters. The way that the story unfolded, I could help tearing up, which I don’t really do all that much.
It was great to see Jae being an adorkable character, I was able to put the phone/foot stomping clip into perspective, and it was good seeing his character grow towards the end. Can’t wait till August!

No… honestly i felt that TVXQ will be 5 forever before this…but, i didn’t surprised when JYJ sued SM in 2009 because I know how crazy their schedules and I once had thought before this that they took drug to gain strength for performance…(how bad I was..TTOTT)…and I really understand JYJ but slightly regret with HM’s decision. when they split into 2 group, JYJ & Homin.. I also didn’t surprise bcoz both parties has different personalities.. this is my 5th year with them.. TTOTT
NOPE…never even crossed my mind..not a bit 😦 .
what’s worse was that I found out about it through my friend, since I moved to another country for college(mid-2009) I concentrated on adjusting to the new place…but I think it’s good that I found out about it a little more later, I don’t know what I would’ve done…I mean, during Junsu’s twitter controversy earlier this year, I had no appetite for the whole week, yep, I only had liquids and soft food…SORRY FOR THE ESSAY..teehee!

I wasn’t around during TVXQ days…I’m a post SKKS fan… however after finding out about JYJ I bought some TVXQ concert DVDs…T, O and Secret Code….while watching I always admired the chemistry and closeness of JYJ and noticed how in the concert whenever the 5 would split into 2 stages or into groups they always ended up as JYJ on one side and HoMin on the other…and it made me wonder if those program splits contributed to the bond of the 2 groups….who would have thought…I think even LSM didn’t.but I’m glad that JYJ stuck together ..

Honestly when I heard the news I was shocked cause I thought if they decided anything they would stick together as 5 not split up. But when I learned how crazy their schedules were and read all of the things they went through because of SM I was disgusted with the company and relieved that JYJ left.
About who I thought would end up with who, well I found out about DBSK around 2006 and even back then I always knew Jaejoong and Yoochun were very good friends….they just gave off that vibe. The same goes for Junsu and Yoochun, they just had (still do) a very cute relationship with each other. Changmin and Yunho well I always thought Changmin with stick with Jaejoong cause he always seemed more happy/carefree with Jaejoong so I was sad/shocked to find out that he stayed w/ SME. Yunho on the other hand well he was always my least favorite because I always felt he tried to hard to be cool/funny…….also during their time in Japan I always felt (don’t kill me it was just a thought) that Yunho was a bit jealous of the other members cause of their popularity. So basically I wasn’t that surprised when he stayed with SME, a bit sad yes cause I am a YunJae fan but I know how to separate reality from fantasy so I didn’t take it too hard.
Still I do admit even if I am now a JYJ fan, TV5XQ holds a very special place in my heart, their interactions and presence on stage together is something that do miss but we all know that nothing ever stays the same. I will continue to love and support JYJ because their music and personalities has given me some of that magic that TV5XQ had, much different which makes JYJ that much more precious to me. ^_^

i know all db5k are close to one another, but at that time, it seemed jae and su’s relationship was always kept down low or hush hush…not seen so much compared to the rest. it wasn’t like they weren’t as close, but it did get fans speculating….and cause unnecessary fanwars between them as both were the main leads in a way.
so i’m glad now, things have changed for the better in that aspect as jae and su’s close friendship can be vividly seen ^^
LOL the JaeSu OMG-NO-MY-OPPA-IS-THE-BEST-VOCALIST-IN-DIBUSK fanwars were the best. TBH, I was kinda ashamed to be a Su stan back then because it often seemed as if the wank was almost always instigated by other dolphin aficionados. People would write us off as jerks and I’d be like “nooooo, we’re not all like that. i love jaejoong’s voice, srsly!!1 ;~;” Fortunately, there haven’t been many arguments of that nature post-lawsuit.
Oh yea the behavior after the lawsuit also shocked me more then the actual separation. Changmin and Yunho just became so bitter and cold towards JYJ…….that really did influenced me to become more of a JYJ fan. *sigh* Even if they might never get back together as a group (which I think is better for JYJ & HoMin now) I just want them to be friends again or at least on talking terms. Then maybe their would be less fanwars *hopeful*
Oh and about Jae & Su’s relationship well I always thought that they had a cute brotherly relationship but it probably developed during DBSK’s later years cause at first they didn’t really seem that close.

I like TV5Q and was aware of their activities but I had no idea of how bad it really was for them or that there were already rumors about the pending lawsuit long before the filing of said lawsuit. When the news broke out, I was shocked. I wasn’t actually surprised about who stayed and who left though, considering that Jaejoong, Yoochun, and especially Junsu were the members I actually saw having careers of their own even back when they were five.
But even then, once the lawsuit news broke out, I had an idea that things would never be the same again. But I think the thing that made me give up the idea of the five of them being back together anytime soon (or at all) was the SME press con in November ’09. Because while people were claiming that the signatures were forged, I actually believed them to be real.
Before the lawsuit, I lived a really peaceful happy life of a typical fangirl: spazz over their voices, their hairstyles, their clothes, their eyes, their lips,… LOL I just spazzed over everything about TVXQ, you name it. Never in my life could I imagine something like the lawsuit would happen, let alone the fiasco 3 vs 2. Then BOOM, the news about lawsuit just poped up out of the blue but actually, it didn’t hit me right away. My friends, my sister all called me asking if I was okay but I was really calm. I told them that this was just temporary, that I believed in all five of them. Yeah I was really naive at that time LOL. Then after watching their interviews on some Japanese music shows at the end of 2009 where Jaejoong just stood there like a dead man and Junsu kept staring at the floor emotionlessly, damn I knew from that moment that things wouldn’t be the same anymore. Then I was in an emotion breakdown, cried, depressed, hopeless. I realized that I needed a break and decided to temporarily quit the fandom. From the beginning of 2010 till the month of July 2010, I didn’t read any news, watch any vids or look into my TVXQ folder in my computer again (yeah, I’ve missed spazzing over the thanksgiving tokyo dome TT__TT ) Then one fine day, while searching for some music background for my presentation, I came accross the vid of “I got nothing” the boy performed in Tokyo Dome. DANG !!! I have never cried that hard in my life. The lyrics are so touching, the emotions and the voices are just perfect. It’s like the boys are telling me that they only have the fans now. After watching it, I blamed myself a lot for being a bad fan. I used to say I will stand by them no matter how or what but at the most depressing time, I wasn’t there with them. Then, I looked up news about both JYJ and Homin, about the lawsuits to catch up with the fandom. While searching and reading more and more about the lawsuits, I natually knew that my heart and my soul were now for JYJ only. Maybe 7 months staying away from fandom helped me to set my mind clear, to toughen up and make up my mind. Then now here I am, a hardcore and proud JYJ-only fan. I think that title is enough to say about my life now, there’s no need to say more LOL.
Actually, when they were still 5 together, I always thought Changmin were not that close to Yunho so at first I were quite shocked that he stayed with Yunho. I always see Changmin sticking around Jaejoong, trolling Junsu and acting silly with Yoochun ( I miss the KISS couple TToTT ) I didn’t see much interaction between Homin and to be honest, Yunho is my least favorite member so…( Well, I like him but sometimes he seemed so serious. After so many years, I still see the awkwardness when he’s talking on shows. But that’s a completely different story so I’ll pass.) Now thinking back again, I think it would be the same: Jaechunsu / Homin. I can actually understand why JYJ want to get out of SM but Homin want to stay. Jaechunsu are the ones that truly love music and SM cannot offer them the freedom and creativity they need as a musician. Their passion is not only singing and performing on stage but also making music while Homin’s dream is to sing, to perform on stage. I don’t think Homin are that interested in making music like JYJ are. This difference is actually understandable. Not every singer has interested in making music, you know. Therefore, I don’t think there’s need to say who betrayed who and blame each other. They parted because they want to live their own lives, to live their dreams, because at the end of the day, they are still 5 individuals who have different points of view, different lives, different goals in life. They are human afterall.

hey~~~ i didnt expect the split like this 3vs2 in DBSK but I did expect them to break up coz before the lawsuits I’ve been reading bout rumors there’s internal problem in DBSK and the curse of 5 years since debut.
Though lots didnt want to admit, DBSK pretty much split already at the moment. What I didnt expect is Changmin to be on the other side with SME I always thought he will follow the more rebel JJ and Yoochun. Junsu I just cant never figure out what he thinks before this, now I understand him better. JJ and Yoochun I acknowledge to being closer than any pairing even closer than YunJae pairing — my personal opinion so dx repulse and jump me coz of our different opinion ne.
The split was painful and i wish it never happened. But since it did, I’m one of those who think the division into jyj and homin was quite natural. The three boys always seemed closer to one another than the other two. I was sad that changmin wasn’t part of it tho. I love his dark humor and dry wit… And our three goofballs really brought out that side of him.
Like mostly everyone else, YES i was shocked and horrified. I would of assumed all 5 would leave SM as JYJ previously wanted. But now thinking back, i was astounded actually that Junsu went w/ Jae and Chun. I thought Su, who has been w/ SM the longest would never leave that company.
Now i got a question: remember when JYJ3 posted the recorded meeting of Su’s dad, Chun’s mom, and Jae’s sister? Was it then that they said at first, FOUR of them were agreeing to leave. Who do you think switched gears? Or who had no plans whatsoever of leaving? I know its useless now to dwindle on the past but it still lingers in my head..

Well I what I am going to say is just pure speculation cause I really don’t know but I think it was Changmin. I mean throughout DBSK he was never really close with Yunho and he always seemed to want a different life then want SME had given him also he wanted to experiment with music if I remember correctly.
If he stayed it was most likely cause of his parents; part of me bets that they “rubbed in” his insecurities of not making it on his own or with JYJ, being in debut with SME and all that jazz. Remember thou all that I have just said is pure speculation on my part, whether we will ever know the truth most likely not so yea =(.

prolly the parents on both yunho and changmin’s were a great factor. they wanted stability. i know jae and yunho discuss a lot as they were close so it could have been yunho as well who wanted to leave. and changmin seems to have strict upbringing so might have wanted to stay. who knows~

I first became aware of them in 2007; I thought they were cute teenagers with great voices, then I started watching them interact with each other in videos and was hooked! I was totally shocked at the split. By the time Melody and Harmony came out, I figured SoulMate would stick together; wasn’t sure about Su, tho I did have this fantasy of him going solo (don’t throw anything at me, please; I just love Junsu):D To be honest I didn’t really think about what Homin would do.^ ^

i was shocked when i first heard it. i never thought they would part eventually just because ive watched too many videos of them and the brotherhood seems really real..i know it’s real they could never fake that with all those candid videos and cams always following them around everywhere. so honestly it never crossed my mind that they would end of separated like this. Im a big jaesu fan, my biased is jae right from the start i already know about his amazing voice but he totally won me over with his 4dness..it’s so rare that with a face like his underneath lies a totally interesting persona..coz im used to thinking that God is fair and you cant have everything lol but he proved me wrong..it’s never dull when he’s around coz he always have crazy ideas, it’s just fun to watch him. Same with junsu they’re my 2 faves among them because they are just fun to watch, there was a time during their Tohoshinki days that junsu became my fave over jae but jae got back the throne when I saw him in person I was totally mesmerized..i dont really like yunho that much because of yunjae and i didnt like CM that much because he always was rude to junsu i know junsu is not the type of person who gets annoyed quickly but there were times i think that it’s just plain rude specially since cm is younger but that’s just me. I thought Yoosu would definitely stick together because they are so close, i know jae is definitely close to yunho and cm is definitely the odd one out of the group i dont know which member he’s really close to. Jae definitely has a soft spot for him coz he’s always babying him around. If you asked me then who among the 5 would sue or break out of the company it’s definitely Jaechunsu since they contribute more to the group in terms of creativity,music etc they give a lot so naturally they would ask for more and trying to tame them would just make them rebel more against you. **Bad move SM. The other 2 seems to be contented at just being a singer/dancer..so yeah JCS would definitely stick together and spread their wings..i think..
reading all you hearts here gives me difficulty in breathing. at some point after learning about DBSK5 2 mos ago, i kind of feel the biggest regret of my life. that is, not having to know them when they are still together. i thought that they are so amazing, that for me not to be able to know them is a curse. but then again i really believe everything happens for a reason. maybe i didnt get to know them earlier because i wouldnt be able to take the heartbreak of the separation. i would definitely turn into one of those delusional and in-denial fans! aish..

They get TOO?! old??!!! Seriously girls. How old are you? 12? O.O They are way older than me(I’m 17) But I do believe that they are still pretty young! Yeah.. maybe the kpop scene has many teenagers idols these days but that doesn’t mean that someone is TOO old when he is only 25 years old!
And besides that, we, really, don’t know anything about their actual lives and relationships. It was a great surprise(at least to me) when JJ said that he dated 4 women since his debut . I was like WT**?? WHEN? But I realized that our knowledge about how they spend their time is very limited. Besides concerts and some stalker pics, we don’t know anything else. They meet many people everyday. And we know that JJ’s social life is very active (his so called –by himself- boyish GIRL friends are still girls at the end).
So, please. DO not get panicked about it ^^ The boys could be dating right now when we are talking about it XD . But I believe that they prefer to keep it for themselves. It’s very intimate after all. And we know how much they appreciate their privacy.
I also wish they could share the info XD but it’s ok if they prefer it like this.
Besides that, It could be too tiring if all the people and their fans learn about it. Why?
1: Jealous fans : They could bash the girl and the press would be too uncomfortable
2: Pairing fans: That is not that good either because some fans become too obsessed about it (just remember YJ”couple” ->fantasy) If the relationship ends the -pairing fans- would do what some YJ’s fans are doing right now :S And it is not good at all!
So just let them be. let’s hope them the best! I’m sure they have many pretty and lovely girls around them ^^ just let’s hope that soon they will find the right one or that they already found her ^^.

and the funny thing about Kpop and some of Asian country the older you get the less popular you become. While in the other part of the world the older the artist become the higher paid they will get, the more power they will gain and the more stable they will become. There’s so many examples I dx think I can list all here. Being an Asian I fond it weird and backwards. The degree of quality and “experts” increase with more experience. I understand face value is important but dont they know that the older a human being become the more beautiful and manly they will be?
Johnny Dep, Leonardo di Carpio (Im a big Leo’s fan lols), Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds (OMG), Brat pit, Jolie, Aniston, Garner (all Jens), JLo, Beyonce, Shakira, etc — to many to list here….. and my love the man indicated above increase exponentially with their chronological age.

That’s why our JYJ men have to produce work/concerts/dramas that reaches a more diverse (age, ethnicity, gender, economical, etc) fan base. They can’t stick with the teenage fan base, not that is anything wrong with it; it is just you can’t grow too much as artist if you create music to cater only to teenage girls. Their world concert was an example of showing musical and performance diversity. People, hopefully now know that, JYJ are grown axx men, and that their music and concerts will have a more sexier vibe; simply put the men got their freak on and told the world: these is who we are, men in our prime, ready to compose our own material, direct it, and show you some things that they haven’t been shown, and we could not show as young idols ( and rightfully so, as they were really young themselves). We are moving to the next stage in our career, and we want to take many of your on our ride, so prepare for it.
These men need some practical (which I am sure they already got some) field experiences, so they can compose and create those next mind blowing albums and concerts. At the end of Gwangju, they said somethings that they will show even more awesome things in the future, I keep my eyes and focus on them waiting, Hope, in the meantime they get to date like any other 25 year old men and women do….with the all shabang of dinner, movies, sleepovers, and whatever floats their boats.

JYJ boys need a mature fan base who support them despite their marital status. That’s an undeniable truth. Unfortunately, young girls aren’t trustful fans. They way Jaejoong is leading things, making the performances sexier and showing JYJ as grown up men with needs, desires, and a very strong will; is a very wise and clever decision, and is attracting older and more trustful fans. Director Kim is a very intelligent man.

THIS ^. ….actually it’s been immensely illuminating for me to see how Korean pop music treats it’s artists – they literally are an expendable commodity. They are manufactured for a VERY particular target group and almost without fail….their expiration date is the military-service or dating/marriage. This is so foreign to the western-process where it’s fully expected for the artists to date, and to age, AND to improve. I am really hoping that JYJ’s management team can “pull it’s head out” and get a clue that the western market/fans mean LONGEVITY for the trio….they really need to do more to capture new fans – because by the eastern-pop-music standard….JYJ only 4-ish more years before they’re considered irrelevant. (sidenote: I do feel sorry for HoMin whose *adult* stage performances include male back-up dancers groping & stroking them…I actually quite like the song “Before you go”….but the choreo is gender-imbalanced – must be creepy for Changmin who has always been off-put by male touching) In any case – YES! to JYJ getting older and expanding their fanbase as broadly as possible.
Aside from the discussion about who thought who would leave and stay…I find the talk about the Asian concept of entertainers being put on the shelf at a certain age, somewhat of a paradox. It’s amusing to me that the purveyors of this idol group model chose to inject so much confusion into the industy.
Here is a culture that has been around for several thousands of years, they take the obeiance to elders to the extreme. Then they turn the tables so to speak, and give their artists an expiration date of approximately 30 years of age. Make everyone feel they ‘owe’ everything to the ‘father/elder’, subject them to a mindset that says the ‘elder’ is omniponent. “You cannot exist without me.”
The fanbase is ‘ENCOURAGED’ to believe that the ‘boy toy’ is all theirs, and theirs alone. Nothing and no one will come between you. Whatever else you might think, do not trust that anyone will take better care of them than we will.
Now along comes a group of three young men who can no longer stand the harsh, unethical treatment they are subjected to. I do understand all the confusion about JYJ’s future based on this model concept. But the one thing I keep in mind, JYJ are composed of three of the most incredible young men I’ve ever seen. These three are not your ordinary artists.
The fact that they knew how tough it was going to be, was enough for them to say, whatever it takes, I’ll do it to survive. I look at what they’ve accomplished in just about one year and I’m absolutely amazed! They have taken blows not many people could survive and live to tell about. They keep on going no matter what. I absolutely love this about them!
I personally feel, as they make it through this passage, they will show it is possible to grow up and have a career. Look at Seo Taiji, he definitely does not fit the idol mold, and is still going strong. Whatever immature fans they lose along the way, they will match and add on others who will come to appreciate the artistry and talent they are displaying.
I find it amusing to read the comments about how young everyone else is, and how some still think of the guys as ‘getting old’. Put it all in perspective. Here is a 60 something – 🙂 – who doesn’t quite see them the same way. I look at them, and practically think of them as ‘kids’. I know better of course, but age is all relative. I still finger pop – as my mom used to call it – and dance my ‘old butt’ off whenever I feel like it.
So, I’ll continue spreading the word about this fantastic group of three young men, who are awesome talents in so many ways. I’ll tell people all about their broad range of talent. That they bring so much more to the plate than just a pretty face. See, mature folks don’t mind the fact that there’s talent out there that can do it all. We after all have grown up knowing, liking, and supporting our artists for YEARS! We know what it takes to be there for DECADES. There is no earthly reason, this can’t happen for JYJ as well.

I dislike the Pairing fans as well. Why imagine the boys with there group members fantasized about them with yourself gessssh. I love my Jaejoong dreams at night. Also keep in mind the fans are very specific about the types of pairings they want to see JYJ with. Automatically there expected to date a korean girl or a east asian girl. Everytime the boys mention they find this or that artist attractive that is not Asian there is a backlash, I am like gessssshhhh why cant they appreciate a foreign beauty……what if one of them interracially marriages?
Me personally, if I didn’t know who they are dating/if they are dating, I would be happy just as long as I know they are happy; they’ve gotta keep some things personal. If they choose to let us know what’s going on in that part of their life then I welcome the news.
If they are dating, I just wish that they are with someone who loves and appreciates them for who they are as people. But our guys are smart, so I won’t worry too much about them finding the right person.

I didn’t know about this. But it’s not the first time that that’s happened. Johnny’s “suspended” Uchi Hiroki and Kusano Hironori “volunteered” to leave temporarily from NEWS (and also Kanjani8 for Uchi) too for under-aged drinking. They never got back to the group.
Johnny’s had always been strict with the “images” their idols uphold to the public. It’s okay to smoke and drink and date as long as you don’t get caught, but once you do, it’s over. It’s not fair and Morimoto’s career is definitely going to be affected. If Morimoto was a more popular member (I’m not really sure if he is because I don’t follow Johnny’s anymore), he could have only been suspended and could have come back to Hey!Say! JUMP eventually. But I guess the only thing fans can hope for now is that Johnny’s give him another chance like the agency did with Uchi.

Wow, I don’t know this group, the back ground or anything so I’m speaking purely by my own mindset about what you mentioned.
I personally don’t like smoking and esp. as a singer I prefer that you take care your instrument (voice) and that’s by not smoking but that’s my traditional musical mindset and I don’t put it on anyone if they do have that habit and is a musical artist cause it’s their life and they have the choice to care enough and know what they want and if they have a brain and know right from wrong they’ll eventually on their own come to terms with how they feel about their own habit.
The problem here is ‘underage’ and ‘image’ as someone mentioned. Em…I don’t know his bad deed to me doesn’t warranted the consequence, getting kicked out. Lets be clear, it is bad that he is smoking, that’s wrong. But to just totally dismiss him, emm a bit unfair. Em, I’m not sure what other fast quick consequence you can give him. I always go for rehabilitation before anything but in today’s world, ‘helping’ someone costs too much so I can see how just simply X-ing him from the group would be the easier ‘money friendly’ solution in their business. I do think it’s unfair, I do.

I think Junsu and Jaejoong have the most perplexing dynamics.
Someone summed up their relationship quite nicely:
“First, I think the reason why people see Jaejoong and Junsu as awkward is because of their couple talks, and people focus on that aspect, even though basically in every couple talk they’ve all said it was awkward, talking about their relationship. They’re still guys, it’s probably a little weird doing those couple talks. Honestly, Jaejoong and Junsu are super close, everyone in DBSK is, despite the lawsuit. Changmin is being a brat with it but I don’t think he hates them, probably just pissed.
Jaejoong and Junsu come off as awkward because they really are complete opposites in some aspects. Jaejoong is a social butterfly who doesn’t have a filter on his mouth, he likes fashion and shopping and clothes and all of that. Junsu though would rather be at home, playing video games and talking with his brother or playing soccer. He is the most boyish out of all of them.
They also have completely different views towards fanservice. Junsu’s on the end, and he’s probably glad that he only has to put up with Yoochun’s little jibes, and he really only does so because SM told them to play up the Yoosu since no one was catching on to 2U. Jaejoong, on the other hand, adores fanservice like no other because he adores and loves his members almost to an unhealthy extent. When Yunho was poisoned he threatened to kill the girl that did it, he hovered around Junsu when he injured his ankle, and he’s cried the most over the lawsuit more than Yoochun and Junsu have. Unlike SHINee’s Jonghyun, who does fanservice because he knows the fans like it, Jaejoong does it because he wants all the world to know he loves his band members and he loves that the fans love it. Why do you think he collects Yunjae towels? If he had a facebook he would try to find a way to list himself in a relationship with all four of them. This is awkward because when Jaejoong tries to hug or pet Junsu, Junsu just sits/stands there pretty stoically and ignores it. Jaejoong probably caught onto this a long time, so who’s on his other side? Yunho. Who probably couldn’t say no to Jaejoong even if he tried simply because they’re so close.
But when Junsu is caught off guard, or he’s not paying attention, he is actually super super super affectionate. He’s grabby and clingy, especially when he’s laughing. There’s countless clips of him grabbing onto Yunho or Yoochun when he finds something particularly funny. Junsu also is notorious for having a very limited attention span. He can really only focus on one thing at a time. Also unlike Jaejoong, who is all over the place. One way he does this is that to show members he’s listening, he will touch them. Grab their hand, pet their hair, touch their knee. Very subtle things everywhere.
One thing that was really profound for me in the Jaesu relationship is during their Mirotic comeback film. There’s this one scene where the group is walking down the hallway towards the stage, and Junsu comes up and wraps his arm around Jaejoong’s shoulders. Jaejoong looks up, beaming, and clearly taken off-guard, but wraps his arm around Junsu’s waist for a brief moment before Junsu breaks away because he isn’t comfortable showing his affection in front of cameras.
Okay that’s the Jaesu dynamic in my head. Now everyone should go write them.”
Good read! good reasons haha. Honestly, I also thought one reason towards jae and su’s supposed awkwardness was due to the main/lead vocals. Which fans preferred which vocals and what not.
However, i knew jae and su were close because jae always had a joke or some teasing directed at junsu. I also think of the clip of a stalker cam recording Su reassuring an angry/depressed jae and Su was actually stroking his hair. this was during their “O” days.
btw i totally wrote a similar comment in an earlier post… and you replied to me there… but i’ll reply to you here lol. don’t worry. i was a Jae bias at that time and also ashamed for not liking Su as much as the rest because of stupid rumors/gossips. whew. so over that period. I LOVE SU ❤

Ha, like in all of us there’s men and women. Maybe the dynamics of Jaesu are more polar in energy than they are with other member relationship dynamics. I’m just speculating, talking.

haha i like ur comparisons about them as well! Really though, if we’re talking about differences in polarity, i would have thought it be Yunho and Jaejoong! Yunho really has the masculine characteristic and opposite personality than jj. What do you guys think? maybe thats why they had the greatest pairing as they showed off a great friendship still.
But in general, db5k all had a variety of different attributes that you would never think would mesh well as a group but it did.
I really believe that Yunjae pairing were just popular because their looks. Jaejoong being so beautiful, and Yunho manly face (i don’t really think he is that masculine). i mean Jaejoong was always close to all the members and like to touch all of them.
but the fans will always say they are just friends, but when in comes to Yunho every thing change. but i have to say Jae being close to Yunho in their early debut days helped. i mean before him meeting Yoochun he already knows Yunho because they were supposed to debut in the same group from the start. but i think the main reason is because people liked their looks together, and the rest was just fanservice .
I personally always liked Jaesu the best, and i have to admit, it’s because they are my bias.
Actually the funny thing is that I remember that back in the days when DBSK were still 5 a staff member said that Jaejoong was in fact the most masculine out of the 5. I think most fans only consider Yunho as the most masculine because of his looks/features which, according to the asian public, are very manly (he is tall, has a strong jaw, sharp nose etc.). Jaejoong is considered as “feminine” because he has such a pretty face but I never thought he actually looked that feminine (imo he actually didn’t look great at all dressed up as a woman for their drama, Yoochun or Yunho would have looked much more like women than him) . Jaejoong has a very masculine body, slim but quite muscular with large shoulders (larger than Yunho’s) and even his face is clearly masculine but SM made him the feminine figure of the group, the “mother” and later (with the whole YJ fanservice) the “wife”. It was part of their role/concept, Yunho was supposed to be the manly and responsible leader/father, Jaejoong was the mother and the wife and YooSuMin “their” children. It doesn’t mean Jaejoong didn’t care for his members or anything but we can’t forget that most of the shows they went on were scripted, and their answers weren’t necessarily true (which doesn’t mean they were always lying either). One thing which I noticed was how the members always insisted on Yunho’s manliness, as if to convince the public that YES, Yunho really was the more manly in the group. I’ve always found it a bit too much, I mean, there was no need to repeatedly comment on how manly Yunho was, I just thought it was strange (not saying Yunho isn’t manly but I dnt think he was the most manly either).
About the members’ relationship if you had told me 3 years ago that they would part in such a way (3 VS 2) I wouldn’t have believed it, but when I think abt it now, it doesn’t surprise me that the split happened this way. Yoochun and Jaejoong sticking together was almost an evidence, these two were obviously close and had their own weird little language/world/bond or whatever you call it. Yoochun and Junsu were also very close, on and off camera, often laughing together, whispering things to each other, and with Yoochun teasing Junsu alongside Jaejoong and, sometimes, Changmin. JaeSu were less obvious and I know a lot of people thought they weren’t close at all because they didn’t show much affection towards each other on camera but by watching fancams of them I was able to see that they were actually very close too (as mentioned before, I also remember this fancam of Junsu calming/consoling an upset JJ and caressing his hair). And I noticed that during reharsals JYJ often gravitated around each other while Changmin and Yunho were more on their own. I know YH and JJ were close even before debut, (YH even lived at JJ’s place for a while), and so were Junsu and YH (YH lived at Junsu’s place too) because they were the first to join SM and trained together for quite some time but after DBSK debuted it seemed that Junsu and yunho slowly drifted apart somehow, and tbh I never found Changmin and Yunho to be very close. Changmin seemed closer to JYJ, that’s why a lot of people were surprised when he stayed with Yunho in SM instead. Abt Yoochun and Yunho I didn’t find them to be very close either, they had their moments but most of the time Yoochun was either with Jaejoong, Junsu or Changmin. I think the closest person to Yunho was Jaejoong, even if we ignore the blatant fanservice it wasn’t rare to see them hanging together off camera and they looked very comfortable together.
But in the end I think what explains the split is the love JYJ have for music (and when I say music I’m not only talking abt singing but also abt composing, writing lyrics, arranging and producing their own songs etc.). JYJ were already the ones who wrote lyrics and composed the most during DBSK5. They were also looking ahead, planning for their future (which can partly explain their investisment in Crebeau too, cuz they knew an idol career isn’t that long and they weren’t paid much so investing was a good idea in order to lay some money aside for their future and an eventual reconversion). It also seems that JYJ’s families are less uptight and traditionalist (Yoochun lived in the US, his parents are divorced, Jaejoong’s famil”ies” seems like a big and warm family, very understanding, and Junsu’s family supports him and his brother in whatever he does and was never opposed to his dream of being a singer) than HoMin’s, which allow them to be more open-minded and creative and to yearn for more freedom and accomplishment.
Well, that’s just my perception of things, sorry for the long comment, I didn’t expect to end up writing an “essay” XD

Owh JaeSu ahahahha I think the both of them closer than we ever expected them to be. I believe what clicks Jaejoong and Junsu and even Yoochun is their interest in music, composition and singing. I remember in one talk Jaejoong said he learn to be more expressive while singing from Junsu and Junsu comment on how scary Jaejoong falsetto. I believe these two men teach each other how to sing and sharing their skills to improve themselves. This interest what click them with each other. I think they respect and admire each other and I love them for that coz that interaction had present us the dynamic vocal range from these two men ^^ That’s why Im dying to see and watch JaeSu duet. It would be the most amazing thing in the world.

Su’s raspy voice, with jj’s clear cut voice blends beautifully together. who would’ve thought! the closest we can get was their duet for Jae’s sister’s wedding ^^;; mann i’m posting too much in this general post today. usually i don’t do this but i’m trying to stay awake for the kbs concert showing.

this is just the MC’s intro the interview clip. man, he was rambling! such a fanboy!!!! LOL i think most of us already know the gist of the story, but look at the detail he goes into… lol
MC: next up is an interview with JYJ. in the interview, i’ll let JYJ have a look at something. what is it? it’s something i got from their thanksgiving live in tokyo dome performance in june 2010. i saved the ticket stub. so i showed it to them to tell them i went to the concert and that i remember how jaejoong cried at the end. when i told them that, they were like ‘woah, what’s up with this MC? do you have to follow us like that?’ With this trip to Taiwan, i’m sure they’ve left a deep impression on many of you. of cos, i feel that the person who gained the most is me because, using work as a reason, i could meet them backstage, etc. And before they left Taiwan, they took my ticket stub… and jaejoong was looking ard for a pen. he finally took a ballpen (which belonged to a staff) and signed the back of my ticket stub. then he very solemnly passed it to – i remember it was – junsu. and junsu was like ‘oh, okokok’. the third was then yoochun, who studied it for awhile before signing it too. then they gave it to me. i’m really thankful for that. later, we took a photo together and i felt that they really treated me as a friend. i was alittle embarrassed to stand beside them; i didn’t know what pose to strike, so i did a ‘JYJ is the best’ thumbs-up. suddenly, jaejoong grabbed my thumb, so his own thumb was sticking out. so then, junsu grabbed that. again, there’s still a thumb (junsu’s) sticking out, so yoochun grabs that. so we took a photo like that, which i’ve shared with you on weibo. right then, let’s have a look at this interesting interview! and because JYJ is going international, we wish them all the best and hope they visit Taiwan again soon.

even though i’m not hardcore fan like everyone who has became fan in same time like me but…..that time i never though n imagine that time gonna be happen n i though if they gonna be leave then they must do it together as 5 like what YH n CM on their last concert as DBSK act 1……….actually even though i’m DBSK fan but i’m not really update with their situation beside that time i must finish my study so when i heard that DBSK hiatus i’m lil bit confused n sad ….became a naive person, i still believe that they are gonna be together again like old days even though i can see clearly how their relationship became so awkward on AADBSK 3 but that time i’m just pass it…..

I’m going to give KBS 4 points out of 10.
They DID actually air….something.
But they failed in their advertising….when you say you’re going to air a concert, using 11 minutes of montages in place of a 2 hour concert…is called bait and switch.
All I can hope for is that the local ratings for this show shot throught the roof during those slim 11 minutes….and the execs. FINALLY get the message how lucrative it would be to have them on as many programs as they can book.
Granted they did air something but you are absolutely right about calling it a “bait and switch.” I definitely feel swindled as I, and I’m sure many others, were expecting their full concert.
I too hope the ratings were astronomical and the message received that JYJ should be on programs now!!

I personally would love someone to do translations/subs. The video quality is not as good as I would wish, but since it was streamed over the internet, beggars can’t be choosers! 😉

They could have said “showing snaps of the JYJ Concert”
They played with their words and gave the JYJ fans false hope.
I’m irritated by the fact that these producers, WANT JYJ on their programs and yet the darkness of SM is always on the back of their minds!

Though I’m glad they at least showed 10 something minutes of pure JYJ feature…it’s NOT enough. I’m just a BIT appeased. A BIT! I think KBS was testing the waters or something with this. Whatever. It’s KBS that needs JYJ and the audience that they command, not the other way around.

Yes I agree that 10 min. was better than nothing but soooooooooo not enough… Just don’t know how to react to this situation – be a little bit happy that they appeared or a little (read very) annoyed that it was only 10 min ^^

I’m pretty miffed tbh. If KBS2 had been honest & said they were going to show clips/snippets of the concert fair enough, but if the translations were correct, they intimated they were going to show the whole concert. It’s sort of like the glass half empty/half full – at least we got something, but it’s not what we were promised. I just hope Jaejoong, Su & Chunnie were told that what KBS2 were showing & didn’t get their hopes up like we did, cause they’d be even more upset… 😦

I understand everyone’s frustrations with the TV stations, I’m angry at the situation too. However, it doesn’t do any good to blame the employees. They need to make a living too and we can’t expect them to stick their necks out for JYJ.

i just read at allkpop that yunho was rated second worst acting among idol for heading to the ground….but i think that drama was produced on 2009 right….i mean that it almost 2 years but they still remember yunho acting…
