Director Chow thanks JaeJoong for visiting Dynasty Warriors movie set.
First reunion in decade of Jaejoong & Hangeng made big headlines all around
Today, ‘The Straits Times’, the most widely read newspaper in Singapore, reported on the Outrage over ‘slave contracts’ for Korean stars.
(I’ll be only posting the main points therefore I skipped some parts)
The Straits Times reported:
SEOUL – BEHIND all the glitter and glamour of the Korean Wave, or hallyu, many popular girl and boy groups here are struggling to assert their rights against powerful talent management companies.
Many of these celebrities and wannabes are bound by long-term contracts – some lasting over a decade – that also force them to put in long hours on punishing schedules. Some women are said to be forced to offer sex services to sponsors.
Through an assembly meeting held on January 20th, the Korean Entertainment Producers’ Association (KEPA) expressed their concerns about the effects of JYJ and Hangeng filing for the termination of their contracts.
KEPA stated, “The KEPA and its members would like to express our concerns over a portion of the members of TVXQ filing to terminate their contracts with SM Entertainment. In pursuit of their own personal monetary profit, they used the wrongful claim of ’slave contracts’ against the public. Should the lawsuit be judged in the three members’ favor, a countless number of celebrities will abuse the results in the future to sue their own agencies.”
This is old but I want to share with you guys.
HanKyung ex-member of Super Junior
On Wednesday 22nd December 2010,
Yesterday, HanKyung won the case. Some follower asked me ‘Is there any hope for JYJ? can u pls let us know?’
I don’t want to write this.. Because I don’t tell the result before the judgement come out.
And it is hard to write in English because there’re too many Korean legal words.
(I tried to interpret it in English easily.
But it’s still too difficult to understand….ㅠㅠ
I just want that it helps to understand the issue and alegal basis easily..)
